My family is back in US for few months. I been mia from my social medias because I been some spending quality my time with them in colorado. I also wanted to do another video with my sweet mom. I did her makeup 2 years ago and you all loved it. I don't think she has ever done my makeup before so I thought this would be interesting to see. I use to watch her do her makeup when I was younger. She didn't do a lot though just brows lips and lashes. Her english isn't the strongest but props for her for trying.

Why is everyone just assuming she is Indian because she is wearing a lehenga? Some people are even saying she's being racist for it, but she is from Nepal. In Nepal they wear the same thing, it's their traditional outfits as well as in India. It's like how Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and such also wear it, because its traditional.

Ok let's make this clear. 1. Promise is Nepalese (from Nepal). Not Indian. Not "desi" 2. She is wearing Lengha and her mum is wearing a Kurtha. These clothings are worn in other Asian countries as well. 3. Promise is not Fat!

***** you got that straight off dictionary.com lol but it's not only restricted to people of those ethnicites who live abroad, people who live IN india, pakistan, bangladesh call locals desi's too. and anyways different sources give different definitions so i guess there's no one right or wrong answer. half of them say it means anyone that hails from south asia, so that would include nepal since it's apart of south asia, and half of them include india, pakistan, bangladesh and some other countries, but not nepal. but i know some nepali's who say nepali's count as desi's and others who don't so it's subjective it seems. i wasn't trying to offend anyone though, i've genuinely just heard different things.

I think your mum did alright to be honest! The only complaint I have is the eyeshdows could of been blended a little more and the eyeliner was too thin and long. But I loved the colours she used and the pink in the tear ducts was beautiful! And the lipstick colour choose was lushhhhhh with the whole look

For All who are fighting over the Word desi First thing the word DESI is made from Desh which means country. Usually this word is used for native Indians or South Indians in a vast range it's used for India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives (Indian subcontinent). Since south Indians are usually black/brown in comparison of north part of India, Pakistan it should not be considered as racy term. Desi is not related to any particular ethnicity or race on the basis of their skins or nationality. It's just a loose term for Indian & some asian people as well.

I am not being rude but I guess after showing the lehnga and kurta and telling U R Nepali many people have started to fight on hundreds of topics related to desi and Nepalis R same to Indians...I read all the comments and then commented this..I am Pakistani...and what I know is simple that Nepalis are not desi and India and nepal is two different countries so everyone stop fighting...promise would be so sad....😥

Nah, cause there is not one race that defines an Indian. There are Mongoloid Indians, Caucasian indians, Aryan etc etc. The same goes for Nepal. Not everyone there is a Dravidian + Mongoloid mix, but has all kinds of people.

Stop saying " oh so Nepal is basically like "..." or anything along those lines unless you have nothing to do but start internet fights. Sure, your intentions might have been pure, but the some(mainly nepalis) it seems as if you're trying to take away their identity like for example, I read in one of the comments, Nepal is in India. Yeah, India is a great country but we don't like to be classified as something we aren't. Nepal is still a 3rd world country and barely known to the world, our only redeeming qualities were Mount Everest and Buddha, and even then people say they don't belong to Nepal. Geographically, Mt Everest lies on my the borders, true, I won't try to spew any bullshit here but to Nepalis when you say that, you're basically gnawing at our pride. Yeah so don't post that type of comment and complain when a horde of nepalis come to attack you. Cheers.

Actually a saari is more like a fabric wrapped around the person while a lengha is more like a dress and is usually accompanied by a chuuni ( kinda like a scarf ). I'm Indian that's why I know this.
