Here is all I have to say about this, and it might run long: As consumers of music we don't get to have what we demand of an artist. We get what we are given. NF, sadly, has been through issues similar to those of Eminem, and music is his outlet. You are going to hear anger, pain, and honest portrayals of what he has been through, and is currently going through. He is aggressive in his style. It's not violent, but it is aggressive. There will always be a hint of Eminem in what you hear from NF, cause they both come from the same place, and I don't just mean Michigan. They were born from the same catalyst. Which is extreme adversity. If you want to get a feel for who NF is as a person I would suggest listening to ALL I HAVE, LOST IN THE MOMENT, WARM UP, GRINDIN, MANSION, and his two INTRO songs. INTO, and INTRO 2. STATEMENT is pretty good also. It does give a lot of insight into how he works. All that being said. Neither I, nor NF can make you hear anything different than what you are hearing. It's not up to us to do that. That is why music is so special. It means something different to everyone, and two people can hear very different things from the same track. All I can say is I used to get the Eminem references, but at this point, I can't really make a connection between the two. Somewhere along the line it just fell off, and now I don't even think of Eminem when I hear NF. Even the songs that originally gave me an Eminem vibe.
That is why I asked for a different song suggestions, this whole comment makes complete sense & I appreciate you as well as others for being so mature about it. As a side note, I never bunch "white" rappers into the same category. Someone made this assumption which is absurd & sounds ridiculous. I am pretty sure it's a racist who said this as I continue to be called a Nigga and a nappy headed dumb ass. My hair isn't nappy & so what if it was. I had 3.5 GPA in High School & I am a semester away from a 4 year degree in Communication. This, talking with people, not at people, is what I do & I enjoy talking with people that have common sense like yourself. Thank you so much for commenting dude, this made my day today & we will DEFINITELY be checking out these suggested records.
Right on man. I love interacting with people online, or in person as well. There is no surer way to spread love, and understanding than by speaking with someone in a heartfelt, and honest manner. Even if the two people interacting don't quite see eye to eye. I may have won a few people over to the way I see things, but more times than not, I end up with a friend, and ally whether I happened to change their mind or not. Music is an art medium on a whole other level. It can be simple, convoluted, metaphoric, or downright frightening, and it offers those feelings over and over again. Unlike drugs that build up a tolerance, music is a drug that never grows old on a person. I LOVE sharing music with people, and getting to know them by their reactions to it. I can't wait to see where these other tracks might lead us. Much love, and respect for this channel you created, and the labor of this love shared with your moms. Almost 10k, and that is nothing to sneeze at. Have a good one man!
"I got this picture in my room that kills me I don't need a picture of my mom i need the real thing" that is just a beautiful line and is the deeps thing I have heard in a song nf I just amazing
NF is my favorite artist and I totally get his Eminem comparison because they're both skinny white boys from Michigan, and NF even says he grew up on eminem in his song Statement. A lot of people are going to say Therapy Session because that song is amazing (seriously), BUT I think that might give you the same Eminem vibe FOR NOW...I think the perfect songs for you guys to see next are Oh Lord and Notepad. They give a real glimpse into what NF is about. my bad for long comment
Tri Inferno okay well I understand what you mean now. you are right in a sense but I like watching reaction videos to see other people discover NFs music. but I definitely do agree to a degree
This is NF, loud and clear, his past and his presence!! I don't think of Emeniem at all when I listen to any of his song's. He is an amazing artist and his music SCREAMS nothing other then who he is, NF's pains, NF's struggles, his set backs, what NF has accomplished thru all the hell and pain he has lived thru from his first breath to the strong man he's become. Everyones story is different, he tells his story with HIS OWN word's, no one else's. I have grown up listening to Emeniem and for someone to say they don't listen to a certain artist and then turn around and say someone reminds them of that person, I hear this individual when I listen to another completely different individual makes zero sense to me!!! If it wasn't for NF, I would still be feeling lost, like I'm alone drowning in my own pain but when I was 1st introduced to his music a feeling of relief came over me bc I finally knew that I wasn't alone. My story is different from his in many ways but he sees and feels things in the same manner as I do. He doesn't have to use fawl language to get his point across, he has so much soul for someone who has lived through so much hell!!!!
I can understand being reminded of Eminem. I thought of that immediately too. But NF is just NF (stands for Nate/Nathan Feuerstein, by the way); his signature is very raw, honest, even emotional lyrics with an aggressive delivery. That being said, my favorites which show that style are "Therapy Session", "Mansion", and "Real". Maybe "Statement". Some other slightly softer ones are "Wake Up" and "All I Have". :)
andrew vega Yes the comparison just means that he had to work harder to get into the studio & put this stuff out & earn the support from producers & fans!
Give me a second to get my composure back. ..... I just recently came across NF . I have been watching all reactions to this song, and all of them are pretty much the same. Most times people are smiling and laughing at first. But quickly the expressions change and emotions begin to bubble forth. As for me, every time holds true. My inside shreds, my eyes flood, and the flames of anger burn. He shares every emotion via reality. Thanks for your very honest reaction. New sub here.
NF and Eminem are so different. NF raps about real and personal experiences and the only reason he sounded like Eminem is his voice and that was because this was probably very emotional to rap about
A lot of people say that they can feel raw emotions in vocals, but I never truly knew what that meant until I listened to this song. It's an empty label slapped on sad and angry songs anymore, you can hear him crying while he's singing. I don't listen to a lot of rap of r&b. But this is easily the most emotionally invested song I've ever listened to.
NF- Paralyzed, Dreams, If You Want Love, Breathe are just a few of my favorites... Beautiful songs and meanings behind them. Wait is also really good. He has alot of good singing ability as well
I totally agreed with you about the whole Eminem comparison. I personally enjoy NF music and I also enjoy Eminem music. The whole shouting and sounding intense when he raps kinda sends a vibe just how Eminem does. However, the first time I heard NF was on the same track with futuristic called Epiphany. I really enjoyed his flow and the way he delivered his message he had on his verse. That what caused me to check more of his music out. I hope the whole Eminem vibe didn't discourage you from checking out more of his music. But, I do understand where you're coming from as an artist standpoint. Keep doing what you doing man, loved your reaction.
I hate how people listen to one song and automatically assume and compare you can't automatically know someone's flow rhyme scheme from one song one song by one person can be way different than most or some songs they made
NF grew up on eminem. so its not surprising you feel the way you do. his style is is own without a doubt but he has gotten some motivation from em. my fav song of NF is "Wake Up" you should do that one
I got an eminem vibe because they put so much into it. Life stories into. Heart and emotion into it. They put their everything into it. That's what makes great artist.
for better or worse... The eminem comparisons are fair. As a white rapper myself, I get it. And it is a complement. Both are not just white, from struggle and from Michigan, super lyrical... he is passionate and emotional. The difference is that they both took different paths. He let Our Lord show him his path. When I hear Kendrick I hear Jay Z, I hear Nas, I hear Mos Def, I hear Andre3K, I hear some Eminem too...especially with the patterns. Kendrick is still his own unique artist. NF (Nathan Feurstein) is his own artist, as well. And like any genre, the great ones embody the souls of the old hat. That is called progression. When you hear Eminem you hear a style that reflects the past and some present. NF is definitely a new school vibe with the flow but there is no denying the influences of the past greats. That includes Eminem. And he may not curse but both artists are very visceral lyrically. They both make you feel uncomfortable with the content and verbiage. Just because NF embodies a lot of Eminem doesn't mean he ripped him off so to the owner of the video, kudos, because the comparison is very fair. God bless, THE P.R.O.
a good song by him is "Oh Lord". But I don't think there's a video yet. A few other really good ones are "Wake Up", "Therapy Session", "All I Have", and "Warm Up"
NF is about the pain of rejection, growing up without the most thing he wanted most was his family, his mom. His pain is crying out from his soul, he is drowning in his torment of memories and not being able to fight for his mom. I see this not as Eminem but rather as what if this guy NF came out before Eminem, then what? NF talks about deep pain where as Eminem talks about simple pain . They both voice out the simular but in a different way. NF is more suicidal angry and people relate so they connect. And Eminem is just angry but entertaining. So does Eminem sound like NF or does NF sound like Eminem? I like them both, i guess it just depends on the listener and what they are going through at that moment. I rate them both a 10 with 5 stars but i relate more to NF with two👍👍 up.
I got the exact same feeling at my first listen of NF. I respect your position, I guess when I listened to him I didn’t look at another nf, i just love the ability of an artist to show his emotion. I love the aggressiveness. But I also know nf grew up on Eminem and was heavily influenced due to similar upbringing. I cannot blame nf for sounding similar and trying to put aggressiveness in his flow and words because it truly helps him cope with his feeling. Like how his song therapy session says. I due however notice NF does not use foul language, I’ve commented on a video previously about nf saying how he has now found his own unique style. He is only polishing and making himself better. After hearing more I can see the similarity but now I can truly distinguish and truly know this is NF because it’s his story, he uses different forms of writing and word usage which also separates him from any other artist. I soon also realized that. Keep up the good work and hope to see more reaction I like the authenticity of your channel! ✊🏽
He's a Christian artist you should listen to all his music I really love his song mansion and circles. Eminem was one of his inspiration artists so a lot of people thinks he sounds like eminem. They both have different messages to their lyrics. Nf are his initials of his name which is nathan feuernstein.
mansion, statement, intro, intro2,motivated, therapy session, and warm up. but honestly he'll always remaind you of eminem cuase he was influenced by him.
Any rapper that is white and raps about real life is basically under Eminem's wing. Any one that is black and raps about real life then is under 2pac's Wings
some people are to immature to have a good conversation sorry about the mean comments everyone has there opions and people need to respect that love your videos keep em up
Bro ppl need to stop comparing every white rapper to Eminem. It's not that hard to differentiate NF from Em. The only similarity is that they both make real music
I can see that NF is similar to Em. very. However, with these rappers. they both are explaining their lives in their music. so lyrical theme are very similar except, NF is positive in his lyrics while Em is more dark. if you want to hear NF, get him on his tracks with his singing. Paralyzed, Oh Lord, Got You On My Mind, I'll Keep On, Can You Hold Me, Face It and Beautiful Addiction.
NF stands for his name Nathan the f stands for his last name that starts with an F I’m not sure how to spell his last name just look up nf on famous birthdays and you will see what nf mean/stands for
