He was NOT ignoring her and he DID love her, but he could not see her in their apartment as she tried to help and love him. She was actually miles away in hospital bed in a coma, possibly dying. The lyrics tells the story, and she sings to the story. "Please do not give up on me." "Can't you hear my heart screaming my love for you?" "CAN'T YOU HEAR ME???" No, he could not. In the hospital room, as he held her hand and dozed off, she kissed him, and he woke up, but she was still unconscious in the hospital bed.
