Yes, I also wish that I could publish videos more frequently … but I ask for your understanding that this is not always possible. I am trying to do my best. Sorry about the snow in your area, it makes transportation difficult. here in USA just started to snow. EXCEPT IN FLORIDA right now we are freezing at about 60 degrees, at abot70-80 we are fine. Well, I published more than 80 videos during the past years - so I hope that you'll discover something new! In my region, it stopped snowing some days ago, but in other regions of Germany (especially around Munich), they are really struggling with too much snow. Flights and trains had to be canceled. Thank you for your praise! I am happy that you like my pop-up card designs. Yes, you are right, I also don't like the fact that the cover already shows what's inside. But there is a reason for that: The MoMA Design store has changed their packagings several times ove the years. And for a long time the cards where packed in a box with a plastic lid - so you could only see the cover of the closed pop-up cards (and not an image of the pop-up element). The current packaging (2023) is a cardboard box with a printed image of the opened pop-up card. So yes, for the new boxes, we designers could create different covers (for the pop-up cards). However, we are never informed beforehand about the design of the boxes, so it is just "safer" for us to design the cover of the pop-up card somehow "similar" to the actual pop-up effect that is inside. Just in case, they might change it again to a plastic lid. But you're right, I will discuss this with my contact person at the MoMA store for next year's designs. Maybe they will allow us to design covers that don't give away what kind of pop-up motif is inside. All the best Peter

@@Peter.Dahmen.Papierdesign Or maybe the packaging could enclose a piece of paper or label that shows the inside, a piece that the one who buys the card sees but the one that will receive the card wont see... I don't know, this is just a quick think, I obviously don't know the problem. I appreciate that you shared with me all this aspect of the design process, it is fascinating (and sad) to know how graphic designers have the same type of problems in different countries! Thank you for sharing your ideas on the packaging. As I said, the boxes are not designed by us designers (who create the pop-up cards and the graphics) but by somebody else. Your suggestion is pretty similar to the current packaging design: The MoMA sells the pop-up cards in boxes with 8 identical cards. On the lid you see how the card looks when opened. (As a printed image). The person who receives the pop-up cards usually won't receive the box as well. But as I said, the next boxes (next year) might have a different design. Thank you!
