Mombasa's BEST Beach Resort / Sarova WhiteSands

But before heading to the Sarova Hotel, we met with our friends from Travel 4 Purpose for a little of street food at the Mombasa lighthouse before heading on a sunset dhow cruise. Even though the rain ran after us, we got lucky and were able to enjoy a stunning sunset over Mombasa with some coconut water and cassava crisps.

Now back to Kenya's best beach resort. This property is massive. It has three different restaurants, several pools including one with a waterslide, a beautiful spa, a kids club, watersports a souvenir shop and so much more.
We had the opportunity of staying inside the Wasini Room which had a very comfortable king size bed, a large bathroom, two A/C units and a large balcony overlooking the Indian ocean. We highly recommend a little breakfast on the balcony.
Talking about food, this was our top highlight. From the buffet to the room service and à la carte restaurants, the food was simply incredible and especially considering the size of the resort with the amount of people they have to feed. Again, the buffet was as good as a resort buffet can get but if you want to splurge a little, treat yourself with a nice dinner at Lido, their signature restaurant where they serve very fresh and delicious seafood.
To finish our little weekend getaway in Mombasa, Sarova organized a visit to Haller Park located less than 5 minutes away for the hotel. Haller park is a old mine that was transformed into a wildlife conservation park with giraffes, crocodiles, elands, hippos, snakes, butterflies and more.
