Moment 21L Overnight vs 17L Daypack | Similar but different bags 

It's more about size capacity. I was perfectly happy with the 17L Daypack until it just wasn't big enough to hold more stuff. Then I had to get the 21L Overnight. But I still love the Daypack whenever I'm not carrying a lot.

I got the MTW 21L and the Everything 17L. The 17L didn't come with the sternum strap, not sure if it's to be purchased separately. Fabric is different, if you have pets, the Everything is better. Inner-wise, MTW feels like a better cloth fabric whereas the Everything is like a nylon fabric. The 17L first compartment is the same as the 21L Everything, which I agree is stupid to remove from the older version. If it's smaller, they should have utilise those space instead. They also changed the keyring to a cheaper, plastic ones. Basically the outside may look more "premium", but the inside feels cheaper. The water bottle pocket could fit a 40oz Stanley cup (I use a Hydrojug), but the elastic will get in the way a little. Might feel safer if they use straps to secure the bottle through the handle. Straps do feel better when wearing, but I have no complains using the MTW bag either. Somehow I prefer the look of the MTW pull tabs too. I also find that putting a basic wireless mouse in the back pocket with my 14inch laptop might cause a bulge and a little difficulty closing the bags in both 17L and 21L. Overall both are good enough for me, I'm using either one depending on how much I need to bring along

I purchased the 21L in April of 2024. It has a sternum strap, but it's not the same design as the 17L Daypack.

I've learned to live with the changes. I wish the newer model had those additional pockets, but I got used to.

Yeah, I love the 17L when I'm packing small. I took that bag with me all over Europe for 2 weeks and it was great for my needs.
