It is not a judge who stops crime. It is our rule of law. Juries are comprised of people like you and me. Generally we have no legal training but possess common sense and the ability to fairly assess facts. When a judge is required to deliver a judgement and/or a sentence he/she exercises the rule of law not their personal opinion.

As a Forensic Scientist, I had my share of crime scenes. It's unfathomable to see 114 stab wounds on one victim (49 defensive wounds - Tristyn fought hard for her life; 35 wounds to the head and neck; 29 to the back and shoulder; 6 fatal wounds). Autopsy photos must have been a nightmare to look at for the jury. A violent death that nobody should experience. May she rest in peace, and I pray that Tristyn's family and friends find comfort in justice being done for her, and beautiful memories with her. I'm happy to see that insanity was not raised; trying to cover up his act was Tristyn's last revenge.

So yes, he was definitely told what the sentence would be. The 25 years possible probation is really false hope, IMO. Unless he's kept in solidary confinement, he's a ripe chicken in a cell block full of lifer criminals. They might keep him separated until he's 18... As a parent of a murdered 19 yr old child my heart goes out to her family, my son he was held against his will and stabbed to death by a group of animals in 2011, last year the finally arrested one of the perpetrators I wish they have gotten all of them, gave the devil 16 yrs for taking my sons life I wish the judge would have gave the animal life or the death penalty. I’m happy this family got justice if you want to call it that. Sending prayers of healing and strength and peace of mind and blessings to the girls family 🙏🏽🌸

I was thinking he was shaking his head in disagreement or disbelief. He only did it at certain things the judge said. So my thoughts were, he shook his head when the judge said something that wasn’t completely correct. Like when the judge said he told his girlfriend he wanted to kill someone. He shook his head. I studied Behavior and I believe this guy is guilty. Don’t get me wrong. But the head shaking is curious. He has no remorse clearly so why even disagree by shaking his head. To me it seemed as if something the judge said wasn’t 100% accurate OR he shook his head in “disbelief” of what was said. For example..he shook his head when the judge said his girlfriend ratted him out. So he is in essence shaking his head saying “I can’t believe she ratted me out” OR he’s shaking his head saying “that’s not completely accurate” You have to realize, this kid is beyond narcissistic so anything said about him that is even slightly wrong, he would be angry about. He planned a murder and if they don’t have the details 100% accurate. That is offensive to him and it makes him angry. So he shakes his head in disagreement.

114 stab wounds is absolutely ridiculous. I don't think people realize how tiring that is, or how psychotic you have to be in order to stab someone that many times. Make a stabbing motion with your hand 20 times. It makes you tired after 10 or so. To do that to another human being over 100 times is absolutely brutal. To do this to an innocent, beautiful young woman is horrendous. Did he think he would get anything less than life?

The title of video states Aiden will spend the rest of his life in prison, but this is wrong. He will spend 25 years in prison. He is now 16 years old, so he will be out of prison in 25 years, at the age 41 ...a relatively "young age". I don't believe this is "fair"....considering how horrific the crime was ...114 stabbings. ...to a 13 year old girl. It is so difficult to find appropriate words. His father had very serious legal problems going back to 2003 and continued after that. His mother tampered with evidence specifc to Aiden. It could easily be suggested that Aiden was NOT brought up well-supported. Nonetheless, the crime is far too extreme to be simply ignored. Tristyn Bailey CANNOT be forgotten. .

This is why I’ve always felt that children develop empathy and compassion when we teach them to feel for others. As a child therapist, I run into so many parents who want to protect their kids from accountability, feelings, and guilt. They make excuses for their kids even when the kid feels sorry and wants to make amends. If your child does something thoughtless, there is nothing wrong with saying, yes that was wrong, how can you do better? Toddlers who throw aggressive tantrums become big kids who don’t know how to deal with frustration and anger. Kids who are told that nothing they do is their fault, grow to blame everyone for every negative thing they feel. And all these kids become adults who feel entitled to throw fits and attack others.

Yes.. You are 100% right. I have worked with preschoolers, as a substitute preschool teacher, I always lecture the children who made another classmate upset, and or cry. When he, or she is, (I am not sorry to state, that most of the issues are between boys) a harasser, I would say, to the child with a behavior issue, "How would you feel if someone said, or did what you just said, and or did to, (childs name?") Most people think that preschoolers only eat, sleep, and play in school, but no. This is the age when these little ones develop social, and emotional skills. We as educators in a preschool classroom observe, and record the children's social emotional, and developmental skills, or lack of. And if we notice negative behavior, and or if the child developmental milestones are behind, we will evaluate the child to make a decision, on if the child needs an effective intervention for students who are experiencing challenges in social emotional, and or developmental skills difficulties at school.

The judge in this case was practically talking to the judge of the future, not to us. This sentencing speech was so specific, line by line, word by word, saying to the state-required review judge in 25 years that this punk was in no way disserved by the legal system. That's why he keeps using words like unique and outlier--those are the things that justify the Life sentence and they are what the judge of the future needs to read to uphold this verdict. That's so ridiculously shortsighted to believe that, and there really isn't any data to back it up either. The reason we see such high rates of recidivism in the U.S. is two-fold. First, we don't actually believe in the idea of correction, or reform, as a society. Your summary of him is a good representation of how America thinks about people. "Criminals are bad and can never get better, so lock them up, and lose the key. They're all monsters and evil and hopeless and blah blah blah." So we don't have a system in place which helps to prepare prisoners for the day they come back to society. I think it's in Norway, but might be wrong, where there is no such thing as a life sentence. You know what that makes people do? Actually try and help prisoners to change whatever it was that made them commit crimes in the first place. Because they KNOW that every prisoner will eventually be back in society. Imagine that, huh? Actually helping people to better themselves. Wild. The second reason, and this is a much more straight-forward one is that a huge majority of those incarcerated are there for drug and drug-related offenses. Once again, without providing services that assist in "fixing" these "broken" people (aka addicts) they are absolutely going to go back to what they know. But bottom line is, what this kid did was totally disgusting. It's an evil act. But to write a child off as hopeless is remarkably ignorant. Remember when children with learning disabilities of any kind were all considered "hopeless ret***s" that aren't ever going to be successful, or productive? How about when people with mental health issues were all "psychotic"? It's amazing how somehow those things aren't true anymore after investing in helping them, not shaming them and putting them in a box in some dark corner somewhere. I don't know that I personally would ever forgive Aiden Fucci for what he did, but I think it's much better for society if we tried to assist him in becoming a productive member of our society, not deciding that he CAN'T be anything besides a monster.

Worked 23 years in a regional forensic psych max level facility as a correction officer and seen my share of high profile heinous murders. I am now retired. I believe this individual should have received the death penalty for this crime. I have become callus over the years seeing murderers get reduced sentences and the way the system is geared now is that the inmates have more rights than the staff do. I’ve seen a certain inmate (who shot his brother from a tree stand with a cross bow ) on his wedding day killing him actually get off and is now walking free in society. He spent some time at our facility, manipulated our director and got released to civil side then from there walked free. This stuff does happen. Now with this this individual in question that got life we as taxpayers have to foot the bill for a lifetime of food, shelter and medical care for the rest of his pathetic life. The system is flawed

The death penalty is an easy way out, better that he spend his life in jail & suffer so much, that he wishes for death.

"The system is flawed". Yep. 100% the legal system is flawed because it is run by flawed humans and flawed jurors...and that is why the death penalty actuallycannot be a thing in civilized society. You follow me?

Tristyn Bailey was only 13 years old, I can't even imagine the pain of her parents. 😢

Tristyn Bailey CANNOT be forgotten. .

❤🙏for the family. May you someday find peace, and love again in your heart for this young man. Forgiveness sets you free. We don't condone what he did at all, but know that forgiveness helps those who need to heal. Not bitterness which brings no peace whatsoever. May the Lord help you. God Bless you family. My condolences.

@@taxicamel it does not mean he will be out, it means he can apply for parole. That’s not easy to get, and depends on the parole board. The family has the right to petition against it.
