I want to thank the doubless overlooked and totally invisible BBC sound engineer that made sure that the audio capture was top notch and whoever encoded the track in this clip so that it would be of an excellent fidelity and sound quality. The trumpets really crackle through my Marantz tube amp and it's a joy to listen to. Whoever you are, thank you for doing this right.
For all those critics who say Charles look miserable must understand it been 8 months since his mother passing, He probably still greiving and is taking it all in, He been waiting half century to become King.
And he’s most likely extremely nervous. Any major even is nerve-racking for anyone, so just imagine how nerve-racking it must be to know that the entire world is watching you
@@YounglingSlayer9000 Truly. The whole world watches and looks for a mistake; a crown, that doesnt fit perfectly and leans towards a side, a wrong step on those clothes, a wrong facial expression ... it must be nerve wracking - and its not something a Royal does every day, or has experience in.
Regardless of what you think of monarchies in general, the number of old customs and traditions we maintain are slowly dying out. This is a ceremony that is fundamentally the same for a 1000 years in England. And we can all respect that at least 🫡
Absolutely, the chair he sat in was 300 years old. I really enjoyed it,people who didn't clearly never went to history class in school or just never went to school
@@bagelking6364 I will forever be thankful that I don't have to endure what my ancestor's did. Can you imagine...... I'm half Dominican and half Scottish. Dominica is a Carribean Island which exists purely because of slavery. My ancestors were stolen from Africa, they were raped, beaten, dehumanised and enslaved simply for being black. Then we have my mums side, my Scottish ancestors, again beaten, enslaved, starved and raped at the hands of the English. Forgive me for being thankful that some traditions and laws no longer exist. I'm neither oppressed nor angry I'm simply stating historical facts that many had to endure. Not all traditions or ceremonies are for the greater good of the people.
Exactly; this is the moment that he’s been waiting and training for his whole life and the two people he wants to make proud have passed away…that is the hardest thing for a new ruler in the royal family; unless they give up the throne to the next in line, the previous ruler passes away to pass on the crown and the new ruler needs them there more than ever plus don’t forget his late mother is a legend; trying to be an impact like she was won’t be a walk in the park x
@@paarker try losing your mother, having to continue her legacy, having a great and burdening responsibility, having millions if not billions of people looking up to you for guidance, a role model, leadership etc. then you can say if you are miserable and sad or not; try putting yourself in other shoes before judging them you insensitive prick!
I really felt for Charles as the crown was put on, he looked overwhelmed. Brought a tear to my eye. He has been through so much, and the recent death of his beloved parents. God bless him. 🙏
I cried for the late Queen Elizabeth II and as Woody.EXE’s Queen; I’m normally forbidden to show emotion but i had to break protocol tradition for my people of Wales to show i care. I even caught Woody.EXE breaking tradition and I loved how my 2009 Woody comforts him throughout the coronation
Oh please - he should shut down this disgusting holdover from horribly barbaric times where the ruler was literally seen as god’s anointed, justifying all manner of atrocities. Where WAS the stone? Did Scotland finally get it back? These disgusting in-bred Germans lording over decent folk needs to END!
😂😂😂😂😂😂 yeh so sorry for him and all that wealth and never knowing anything other than he will one day become King, he is overwhelmed because he didn’t waste all that time as just a Prince regent
Just a word of praise for the Archbishop of Canterbury for his contribution to the Coronation Service. He was so professional, yet so caring of others, including the King. Thank you Sir. I hope you have a well earned rest.
No crap this time about a fairytale marriage / king ..... all this makes me ashamed to be British the Spencer family were like the Boleyn family both Diana and Anne were used to further thier family fortunes yet most British r against arranged marriage?????????
@DarrenJamiesonJamieson the word is crowned not coronated and the king and queen used the gold coach which is apparently very uncomfortable on the journey back to the palace
Its not that His Majesty looks miserable. This is a very solem ceremony and the British are a solemn people, especially when it comes to ceremony and traditions. Its part of their charm and character. It's why much of the world looks to the UK as an example.
Never lose your culture British people. This is rich history and culture over a thousand years in making and your unique in that you still do these things they way they are meant be, befitting of a king. No other country on earth does these type of things like you British. I’m only to proud to share in the culture and history from which most of Americans come from. I’m so proud of my British heritage from the country in which my family comes from.
The eyes of His Majesty, when crowned, are strikingly similiar to his mother, the late Queen. I know that the King is grieving for his parents, especially the Queen, just remember that Queen Elizabeth II when coronated, was also grieving for her father, King George VI. Both Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III realized that life will never be the same again as they will become monarchs, with Charles knowing that he'd been waiting for this moment for 70 years when he is the heir to the throne.
As a proud Irishman here in Dublin may I take this opportunity to say..... Your Majesty, may God bless you and Queen Consort Camilla... God save the King....🇬🇧🇬🇧🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪☘️
I bet my head on the fact that in those couples of minutes after he was crowned all his life since he was a child flashed through his mind, the memories of his grandfather the king, his mother the queen flashed through his mind, 70 plus years to reach that moment!
The queen completely hogged the crown when there was no reason she couldn’t have stepped down say 20 years ago. This has left Charles with maybe 10-15 years when he is healthy enough to be king. At least William will get the crown before he’s an old man.
@@thescarletandgrey2505 stepped down for the man who had just remarried with the woman he had an affair with while the country still mourned his wife that they blamed him for the death of… yeah, if the Queen handed him the crown 20 years ago, the monarchy would’ve collapsed. But now half the population doesn’t even know Diana, and the rest were given enough time to move on.
An awesome tradition the british have. Its my first time in my life seeing a coronation and its everything my 10 year old self thought how a coronation would go.
@@Glennquagmire1912 Compared to other monarchs he's no where near a monster. Do you think he's remotely close to people like Vlad the Impaler, Ivan the Terrble, Nero?
I love British tradition. This connects our land with it's history so perfectly. Royal Family haters absolutely seething about the love and celebration
We're not seething, just laughing at flag shaggers like you who worship the Saxe-Coburg Gothas because the media and Piers Morgan tell you to. Did you swear allegiance to Charlie Tampax and his family of scroungers like a good serf?
Not to mention the cost! Oh yeah it was well worth the millions of taxpayers dollars for that display, mind you you've gotta love the costumes, Halloween came early this year
@@harleyboy90210 Ah yes, the cost! The most complained about thing. Let's forget the fact that A) The monarchy bring the most tourism of any UK attraction. B) The monarchy made the UK 1.9 BILLION in 2017 alone. Let's focus on that figure of 100 million for the coronation. And not the billions they've given the UK over the years. Just the 100 million for the first time in... hmmm? What? 70 years? Good logic!
@@JoshuaTXI and where did they get their money, from the stock market? Talk to someone from any of the countries they raped for years and then walked away. Royalty loves lickers like you, it keeps them in business. You probably give money to evangelists

God save the King. This is Soo surreal. I am honored to witness this in my life time. Sending love from Ghana- a "citizen" of the Asante Kingdom ❤️❤️❤️
His great grandparents exploited, enslaved and attempted to culturally genocide the Asantes while stealing their most precious jewels and gold. I’m sure the victims of colonialism in Ghana would be proud to see one of their own ‘feel honoured’, that you saw the head of the establishment that oppressed them get celebrated.
@@0penminds I appreciate your point, but Britain didn't have to enslave anyone to exploit them. India was exploited for decades without the need for slavery
Love it!! Never a truer word spoken. Flesh and blood just like the rest of us, no better no worse(well thats dibatable), no more or less deserving than us mere peasants.

his mother would be so proud imagen the gravity fo the realization he must be going through plus all the family memories of his mother and grand farther
A very moving moment when the crown was placed on His Majesty’s head. A huge responsibility lies ahead as King Charles takes on the mantle of his late and much loved mother Queen Elizabeth ii. Long may he reign and may he be granted peace and wisdom as he enters a new chapter in his life.

While I couldn't give less of my attention to the Royal Family, this is a grand ceremony to uphold as tradition and feels like a window to the past that needs to be remembered, making it equally weird for how little the family itself seems to care for the occasion they don't just have to, but get to be in.
@Daedric Prince JDW smart enough not to believe in bloody fairy tales!! What did "god" do before he built the universe?? Take your time with the answer I know its a tough one!
@@harleyboy90210 I was an atheist once, a skeptic like I assume you are. When you hear the word "God" you probably think of a bearded white man who lives in the clouds, and many atheists seriously think that's what believers think God is. No wonder you don't believe, because that is a gross oversimplification to try to personify God, and understandably you reject it. I think Hindus describe the nature of God best: "it [Brahman] is the immaterial, efficient, formal and final cause of all that exists. It is the pervasive, infinite, eternal truth, consciousness and bliss which does not change, yet is the cause of all changes. Brahman as a metaphysical concept refers to the single binding unity behind diversity in all that exists in the universe."
As always, admire prince Charles than and a King of Great Britain now. He is indeed a wise man and many can learn of him many great things. Wishing you to lead with the justice and freedom.
The real history in the making is the lack of import a monarchy has now, compared to it's more dominant imposition on the people that lasted up until say, 1900s - 50s apprx - now that is history. Probably the history is also, seeing the last monarch.
“there is not anyone upon the earth who says: Lā ilāha illallāh, wa Allohu akbar, wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh,, except that his sins shall be pardoned, even if they were like the foam of the sea.”
Yes, no one cares about the monarch apart from some military and civil service families, or the upper classes and handful of others for historical and political reasons.
I achieved the join up on the 28/11/2019 Not many days compare to that one ! It was a descendant of the light horse that left from Exmouth as I worked on the station there for a moment! Beautiful place! You should check it out! Good fishing too!
Amazing how low key it was and the low numbers that turned out, of course, a high amount of tourists as usual - and some military / civil service families. Aside from that ? Nobody cares.
@@utabain I would try rereading my comment many times and getting a primary school aged friend to help. I would also ask them to help you with the spelling of the word "coronated". They also did not happen at 11pm. Generally, funeral and coronation services aren't conducted at one hour to midnight. For some reason, people prefer to conduct them during the day. Aside from that, you did get the 2 dates correct and that part was very well done.
@@bramrichards2727 Thanks, it's an interesting element that someone else pointed out. Nothing changed. He was already the (unelected) King. We just spent a bunch of taxpayers money on an anachronistic ceremony that could have better been spent on helping the most needy in our country to deal with the cost of living crisis that the current government has brought upon us.
Who said it was ours to begin with. Did they own the land within which the jewelry comes from or did they just happen to be born in a specific part of the world- what exactly makes it someone else's? Life's too short to be worrying about a few rocks for crying out loud

I mean, I’m American so I find the idea of a monarchy antiquated and silly…and yet I can respect that it’s part of England’s history and culture and tradition and I respect that. And since my British great grandparents didn’t leave England till the time of queen Victoria it means my ancestors lived under the monarchy too. It’s an amazing thing to watch and if it makes my British cousins proud it makes me happy. God save the king!
