2+ years doesn't seem very lenient, that seems quite harsh actually, and probably due to stahmer demanding an example be set. Now if you want lenient, imagine if this trial were happening in canada. These upstanding gentlemen would already be released by noon with time served.

Err,,Judgement was passed because they plead guilty. Could easily have said not guilty and given a reason why,then things may have been different. Just to let you know pleading Guilty means you've admitted to the charge and the act. Not Guilty means you don't agree and you did not do it.😂😂😂😂😂. WOW😂😂😂😂😂😂
Amazing how they can catch, hold, try, and convict in under a week yet when someone's child is killed or your car is stolen it takes MONTHS for conviction!. . . . . IF they are convicted at all!!
It's simply because the priority is to stop the riots now. So these cases take priority over others, because there is an immediate risk. Lots of cases jump the queue when there's immediate risk. Why exactly is this hard for you to understand?

Saville was very difficult to get at.... friends in high places in the Troy Government & 10 Downing Street. The Surrey Police investigation was also hampered by 3 individuals in senior positions in 3 other police forces. Saville always joked that he used to have then round for tea & was untouchable. Some of them were sentenced after many years of being left alone for the fear of being seen as racist. Just like how the Manchester arena bomber was left alone by security because they feared being called racist.

He wasn't an MP and never was. And yes he has been charged. The reason these people have been tried so quickly, I suspect, is to be a deterrent to further and ongoing violence and thuggery which does seem to have had an impact.
