James Jordan, the father of basketball legend Michael Jordan, was found tragically murdered in the middle of swamp just days after his 57th birthday in 1993. There were many mysterious circumstances surrounding his death, but the investigation and trial were deemed a success, resulting in the conviction of two teenage boys. But why does one of the convicted still proclaim his innocence almost 30 years later?
We are joined by award-winning director and producer of the soon to be released docu-series Moment of Truth, Matthew Perniciaro. The five-part series uses never-before-seen archive footage to tell the story behind the murder of James Jordan. It also tackles police corruption in Robeson County, North Carolina, and how that may have influenced the murder investigation. Matthew aims to give us insights into how Michael dealt with his father's death, and what made this crime so hard to solve. He explains what motivated him to make Moment of Truth, and the challenges he faced along the way.
Moment of Truth premieres on IMDb TV, Amazon’s premium free streaming service, on April 2nd.
“Despite the fact that we think we’ve made so much progress as a society and as a culture, this just shows how far we still have to go.” - Matthew Perniciaro

This ostensibly important doc is garbage because the trial was not televised and yet the filmmakers refused to subtitle the poor audio on the trial testimony so it is IMPOSSIBLE to make out what is being said. A waste of my time.

I was about 16-17 when this happened. I didn’t believe these guys was the killers then, & dont believe either one of these guys killed James Jordan now. thsts whats scary, the real killer or killers are still out there. its terribly disgusting that someone let Daniel Green go to jail for a crime he didn’t commit

I also remember it and felt the whole thing seemed to be wrapped up way to quick. When there are high profile crimes law enforcement likes to solve them quickly and egotistical DAs like to get credit as well. When there's obvious police corruption, like there was in this town they really dont want to be in the spotlight too long!

"He travelled alot"? Really? In the last dance, the family said it was (Extremely) unusual for james not to, at least, call. And, he just skipped his birthday, without a word? And, he was due to be at a golf outing the next morning? And, he was 500 yards from a motel, but supposedly pulled over on side of road to nap? And, irs obvious from the evidence he was killed elsewhere, so why are we being told an obvious lie about james pulling over in the early morning hours to nap? This case stinks to high heaven, and any prosecutor worth that title can see it. As I see it, we should be wondering: "how deep does the corruption go", and "who benefits from the murder"? Obviously, something's up, when the family didnt get the police involved, for several weeks!? WTF?
@saraessex8124

And then, to compare this case, to another case, where the guy took so many drugs (to hide his crime) that his heart burst, and a police officer was punished for it...SMH
@RedLeo-pf9yo
@RedLeo-pf9yo Год назад
He didn’t pull over to take a nap. He was pulled over by a dirty cop. They took him somewhere else and did a Satanic sacrifice on him. You don’t get everything Michael Jordan has without sacrificing some loved ones. It is safe to assume that every prosecutor in the USA is a satanic Freemason.

again.....it doesn't matter if your outside the bank in the getaway car when your partner is inside sticking the bank tellers up with a gun.....Your just as much to blame....One shot Mr. James and the other helped dispose of the body they are both responsible for his murder...there is no one did less than the other ....we all know what happens...stop making excuses for these two murderers

They are playing the blame game he did it.....no he did it.....doesn't matter if one disposed of Mr. James Jordan's body and the other one shot him they were both together. The getaway driver gets just as much time as the gunman at the bank teller sticking them up...They both were wearing his jewelry and I heard one was bragging about James being M.J.'s Dad.....this is nothing more than Lawyers putting doubt into the jury pool incase one of them gets a new trial....

You dont get put away for life if you werent a scene when a person was shot. Green could be charged with helping to dispose of a body illegally but 3 3 people give him an alibi for his whereabouts during the shooting. Demery was involved in drug dealing with the cops and they decided who they would make take the fall for the shooting. this is a miscarriage of justice.

It's too obvious his father was killed over money. The circumstances of that money issue is the mystery I think. Jordan was a heavy gambler and it wouldn't be a far stretch that a gambling or/and a random was involve. I don't think those boys/men did it. You're worth millions of dollars and don't hear from a love one? It doesn't make sense. I think he was held for money.

No, he was sacrificed, same thing with Bill Cosby son, Kanye west mother, Master p daughter, and etc. This is due to their abundance of wealth, and this has been occurring since the Genesis of time and, before you say I'm wrong, look into these findings thoroughly

my opinion Daniel is an innocent man and does not deserve this injustice just because it is a famous celebrity whose father died. I love Jordan 100% but turning a blind eye to the truth of who actually killed your father , is just ignorance . no disrespect just a fact. Other than the case at hand, can anyone tell me if there was ever a movie or documentary made on the COUNTY of Robeson NC? if there is not then they should make one it seem like the wild west outthere. America should inform those folks we are in the 21st Century and they living backward for real and this is coming from a person who resides in a 3rd world country . so think if us so called savages are thinking this of an American county , what does that say about the land of the "free"

@@lisettegarcia7013 Exactly, plus the 2 guys are guilty in each way. One of them killed MJ dad and the other helped dispose of the body which would make him just as guilty. Plus flaunting MJ dad stuff and doing it in a video which also made him guilty even further
@lisettegarcia7013

@@silence6813 I have seen three episodes of this documentary series and the county of where James Jordan was killed is pretty dangerous. Many people like African Americans and Native Americans have been getting more time in jail than White people, even if they're involved with drug transferring. Daniel Green, one of the suspects who was involved in the crime, he was saying that he was at home until his so-called friend, Larry and this guy named Rick, came up to him to come with them to dispose the body and ordered him to take the car at a trading site. About the championship ring and watch, I had a thought that Larry must have gave them to Daniel and maybe fooled him to think they're Chicago Bulls merchandise, while this Rick guy hid the gun in that vacuum. Because both of these two were saying their version of the story, but they had the same detail: the guy name Rick. My other thought was when James Jordan was getting murdered, although there was no bullet hole on the chest area of the shirt, I think that either Larry or this Rick guy must have pulled the shirt over James Jordan's head to muffle him, so he wouldn't scream out 'Help!' and one of them shot him. I also listened to the podcast and according to the producer of the docuseries, he said that while Larry was waiting for his trial, he got to home to have dinner with his family and didn't had any handcuffs on while going into the court room *(Even if he was involved of transferring cocaine)* , while Daniel got to stay in prison to rot and was asked a lot by the media if he had something to the Jordan family. Now I can see why Daniel said that freedom isn't a right, it's a privilege. The police and detectives can say suggestions and put things in your head, just so they don't have to try to put together a crime themselves.
