February 4, 2022. An Avelo Boeing 737-700 departed from Tweed-New Haven Regional Airport (HVN/KHVN) bound for Fort Lauderdale (FLL/KFLL). Shortly after departure the aircraft strikes a bird. The pilots suspect their radome is damaged after they receive a windshear warning, so they elect to return to New Haven and get maintenance to look at it. While holding to burn fuel, ATC declares an emergency on the crew's behalf. Watch and listen as the pilots and air traffic control co-ordinate to get the aircraft back on the ground safely.
