Take a look behind the scenes of air traffic control (ATC) around the world. Listen in as controllers and pilots handle emergencies, regular operations and chat on frequency.
radio quality is so bad, is that because the feed is via a "jacked in" feed or do these guys in the cockpit have the same quality coms? (asking coz I have not idea about these things, don't flame me lol)
Why is the connection so atrocious for a radio with todays technology? Theres no excuse for it being so bad. The sound quality should be crystal clear between them with todays technology.
This video is terribly incomplete, and lacking important details in a rush to completion. A much better nearly 39 minute video exists on RU-vid channel FS MaNiA. I strongly suggest you all watch that other video to understand the scope of what really happened on this flight. And it is a lot! More importantly, you’re told the aftermath of what happened to the pilot, as well as interviews with all the important people who played a role in the outcome.
The person flying the plane, had no experiences? I doubt that. The way he contacts the tower, the way he knows the height and also knows what that squeawk or sth. thing is, he must have at least some experiences in some way. Maybe is interested in planes or looking documentaries, playing games or sth. cause I would not know how to know what name my plane is, what tower to contact ect. but never the less, he clearly had no real flying experiences and did a very good job.
One of the things I like about this channel is that all the aircraft in a given airspace are shown along with their trajectories. I’m okay with a longer video with nothing omitted. In fact, the longer videos are more interesting in my opinion. Either way, excellent videos! How long did it take to edit this one? Also, I love the explanation of technical details and schematics. If possible, it would be great to know how checklists work with the larger commercial jets.
So they gave him a phone number and the plane magically landed itself? Where's the communication with the guy on the controls? That would have been way more interesting.
Because the Delta engine and brakes of the plane were pushed to the max in order to stop taking off the runaway. It's dangerous to continue to fly with the plane without getting the plane checked first.
I’m sure it all seemed overwhelming but that novice pilot needed to be told to focus on what ATC was telling him and asking him. It seemed as if he was distracted and not listening to simple instructions. Flying and landing the plane was the priority.
The one minor criticism I'd make is that ATC could have said "Turn right at Kilo then cross 13 left" Rather than just "cross 13 left at kilo" This would have made it slightly clearer that they needed to make a right turn at Kilo.
