I just tried using Liquitex fabric medium on my cyanotype paper print. I have heavily echo stitched on it, and it stitched beautifully! Thank you for introducing me to this technique!
I watched your first video. Once l worked out what the sound was, l just got on and listened to your usual enthusiasm and curiosity. I really enjoy how you pull us in with your pleasure at finding new items to be using. It was very good of you to do the video again. annette
Good Sunday morning RU-vid Friend Jeri! I did watch your other video yesterday and then your newly presented one. Very cool, I've never "kneaded" paper before. Thanks for letting me into the world of Momigami! You just never know what amazing creative things you are going to learn on your amazing channel! Thanks Jeri for keeping me company on my recumbent bike ride in my LJ's Studio 3 😆
It isn’t easy to be a RU-vidr. The neighbour is doing his lawn, then it’s raining, the dogs bark, perhaps you got a could, there isn’t light enough or there is too much sun. But we keep on going. Again thanks for mentioning me. 😊
Jeri I enjoyed the show and tell. Both videos are Great! I appreciate all you do for us FOR FREE. The negative Nellie's should stop, if you have nothing nice to say, DON'T SAY ANYTHING!! Positive Vibes and Blessed Healing Prayers my friend. Huge hugs. Namaste 🐞🐞🐞
Love this! You have me thinking - what about mixing acrylic paint with textile medium then painting the paper? In theory, the textile medium should keep the paint flexible. Off to play! Thank you for never giving up!
Oh, I loved that video! The rain was very nice in the background. I already ordered and received the Konjac powder and have it setting up in my refrigerator right now. Can’t wait to play with paper tomorrow!🥰
The rain was delightful (I'm from the North of England so rain is a familiar sound) and you were so enthused! Such a shame you were disappointed. I really enjoyed the other video. Xx
You can still watch it, it's unlisted but in my How To Playlist. I do try to "listen" to my viewers and some couldn't hear me over the rain and were unhappy. So win win, it's still there for those of you that loved the sound! And not for those that didn't! 💜
I watched the first video and loved the sound of rain! ❤ I also tried the olive oil ( not a fan) a few weeks ago. Also hand lotion. Didn’t know about the konjac jell so will need to try that.
Awe, you are so sweet and caring❣️ I loved your first video of it raining (wish it would rain in NW Arkansas). Jeri, did you thin/water down the acrylic paint when you applied it to your paper? I’ve also read somewhere that glycerin can be used. I’m ordering some konjac gum! Thank you for sharing❤️
Just a suggestion, but I wouldn't give up on baby oil or switch to purr mineral oil. Baby oil is almost pure mineral oil wth a very small percentage of fragrance. Mineral oil is a petroleum product and shouldn't mold. Wanted to add that I loved/love when it rains at your cottage. I live in an area in South TX where it doesn't rain much this time of year. 😊
You're so sweet! I love all of you so much! If you want to see the first video you can, it's in my playlist under How To. And I will try the mineral oil, but the oil papers felt greasy to me, maybe I used too much. 💜💜💜
Baby oil which is mineral oil will not go rancid. Any perfume in the oil may change over time but this oil is not vegetable based - unless you're buying a baby oil that states that it IS vegetable-based and not a mineral oil.
Thanks for this, it makes perfect sense to me, I did google it and saw that it could go "bad". Without detailed reasons, perhaps it was not going bad, but getting old and no longer what it was originally. If that makes any sense AT all! 😂 Thanks for your comment! 💜💜💜
I saw a video recently that used glycerine, which is also in water based paints, i.e should allow paint to be used at only point. I haven't tried it but plan to. I also stitch on it and have used cold wax as a finish.
I didn’t see your first video. How do you actually use the Konjac. Do you just soak the paper in it. My local supermarket stocks it which us very handy. Just took a closer look at your links and found the answer. Thank you
I put the first video back up... Use the paint the same way you would use the Konjac. Paint it on and when it'd dry enough but still cold, you can start kneading it.
I put it back up, basically you either paint stuff on the paper or rub stuff in with your hands. then crunch it up. I was discussing the different products you can use. My fav is the Konjac powder. 💜
That's GOOD to know too, I'll be making a list! I'm very organized like that! OH WAIT! I have some of that at home! And I'm actually headed there any minute! 💜
