Monaco GP F1 VIP suite at Fairmont Monte Carlo

The Fairmont Monte Carlo (www.fairmont.com/monte-carlo/) sits right on the coastline, overlooking the Mediterranean. It also over looks the famous hairpin turn of the Monaco Grand Prix and is one of the best places to stay in the city. I had a chance to watch the race from a private VIP suite at the hotel, filled with champagne and great food. Here's a view.

Yeah, it's weird, tons of views and comments. Usually that happens when there's news, I thought maybe they announced the 2021 race! Yes, this was all journalists and VIP guests of the hotel, it was hosted by the hotel. Thanks for watching and I hope they do have the race in 2021.

Longer than you'd think. I watched races live in Abu Dhabi. I think its just a case of the cars being too fast for the cameras.

@Steven Strassler doesn’t change much. the footage still has to go thru a broadcasting system. the internet latency between london and ny is less than one second. distant isn’t the thought here.

I've never understood the point of watching F1 in real life. You can only see a tiny part and you miss the bigger picture. Maybe as a once in a lifetime experience.

I get your point. At this race, they did have TVs and there are giant screens around the track that show the race. But you're right, it's an experience. There is a whole week of energy and partying leading up to and including the race. Especially in Monaco. The entire city was like a huge party when the race ended. Thanks for watching the video.

The atmosphere of watching it live, listening and seeing the cars passing by and you can still watch the race to understand what's going on on the big screens placed around the track. I haven't been into a Formula 1 race, But I already went to a F1 team event and the experience of seeing a F1 car working upclose is unique.

Thanks for watching, I disagree a bit. The point of watching there is the cars slow down for the hairpin and you can get some great views, especially from the raised angle. Also, there is a social component of course.

@@giulianosarti656 you do realise it’s none of your business and even his only intention was to flex, he paid his bills so he could do whatever he wants and what I assume he meant was not many people can say they watched the Monaco hairpin on a gp day in a hotel drinking champagne. Many would die for such experience

It’s nice that he posted it but all I see is him talking - it’s very narcissistic to post a video like that, and not very classy. He should watch high quality F1 travel vlogs to see how it should have been made

@@FreddySherman If you posted one before, please link it. All other videos from that viewpoint are old; there is one current from Fairmont but not from the rooftop. I was thinking of getting it for Friday next year but on reflection I think Casino would be a much better value for money (I don't care that much for catering, only views); hence my disappointment that this video does not have longer shots of cars.

It's interesting that many people seem to be watching this video today and yesterday, as it's from 2016. The spot wasn't boring, the attraction is that the cars slow way down for the hairpin so you can get a decent view of them and the drivers, compared with faster parts of the course. The champagne and snacks were very nice too. Thanks for watching the video.
