It's always amazing to me how simple Vangelis' melodic arcs and chord progressions basically were, yet so incredibly impressive and emotionally moving. Your video is a gift that clearly shows me how this exceptional composer ticked. It helps me to better understand my own music as well. I have been on the wrong track for so long, always admiring virtuosos instead of understanding the truth in music: Virtuosity is just fairground, the sounds and the melodies and the harmonies that go with them are always simple. This is true for Bach, Vivaldi and the Beatles, and it is true for Vangelis, who was in this tradition. Thank you very much for this cover, which you have done excellently, colleague.

Je réécoute 4 ans plus tard et toujours la même sensation... Impressionnant de justesse et de fidélité. J'ai un attrait tout particulier avec cette musique car je l'ai découverte lors d'une thérapie, lors d'une des périodes les plus sombres de ma vie. Je me souviens avoir supplier la thérapeute de me prêter le CD afin que je puisse récupérer la piste, et de l'avoir beaucoup écouté par la suite afin de m'aider à me recentrer. Il m'arrive encore de l'écouter, comme ce soir, et de me rappeler qu'au delà de toute la médiocrité que l'on peut voir en ce bas monde, il existe des âmes pures capables de produire de tels chefs d'œuvre. Merci Hugo et encore bravo. Et au passage ta reprise de Terminator est terrible aussi ;)
