This is a very common belief with many different injuries but especially low back pain. However, it is not supported by research!
1️⃣ Resting & avoiding activity makes you more susceptible for long term chronic back pain.
2️⃣ Remaining active & participating in general exercise as well as a specific rehab exercise program are much more effective treatments than bed rest.
If you hurt your back doing a specific movement or sport, remain active but don’t just keep doing that same movement.
