@@stefanobiagini9424 oddio , tecnicamente c'è un abisso a favore di Patton, anche e soprattutto in estensione. Lui la discografia di Mina è in grado di cantarla, non è vero il contrario. So che il discorso può fare sorridere ma è la verità , Patton è un'anomalia nel mondo del canto
Once he joined Faith No More, and I bought their album with him in it, heard the majesty of the lesser known songs where he belts out his voice, discovered Mr. Bungle, he INSTANTLY became my favorite singer of all time and has NEVER been usurped in something like 30 years for me ❤️
Love the smile from Patton just before he belts out the first line..it smacks of confidence and “ I’ve got this” bravado..and boy does he smash it. One of the great vocal performances of his prolific career.

I had an amazing choir instructor in highschool that taught us to sing in Italian. We won competitions. Then life happens. Growing up. I lost touch with it though i loved the Italian music we learned. And behold, one day it is revived by none other than Mike Patton?!?! Interesting and amazing. Now I am learning the entire language. 🌟

Only Mike Patton could blaze the trail for modern metal with the highly experiential sounds of Faith no more and Mr. Bungle and then go sing Italian music with a classical string orchestra and French horn it makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time !
Patton looks so perfectly happy in these Mondo Cane performances, and he should. This is breathtaking and I am truly amazed that he sang this, and orchestrated this. It's really quite a remarkable accomplishment.
Agreed. Patton's range is his greatest asset. How he can go from duetting with Zorn, to singing Squeeze Me Macaroni, to doing King For A Day, to this, is something I'll never get my head around. This video made me fall in love with his genius.
Mike Patton's a musical genius because he trascends the concept of music which most of the musicians out there have: Music is not about making one genre like Pop Or Heavy metal clear-cut distinction. One day he sings opera, then he sings Mina's "Il Cielo In Una Stanza", then he sings cover of horror-movies and so on and so forth, and that's because music is feelings and communication of feelings or thoughts and he just doesn't give a f**k about conveying them only with one genre...Pop, Opera, Musical, Blues, Jazz,Progressive, Electronic: who gives a f**k, they're all good in my eyes.
im rocker and still love classic rock but italian music is beyond heavenly sound , the italian language was meant to sing and im a spaniard and i just love listening to italian music.

Absolutely AMAZING!!! Yes, his Italian is pretty nice, I can recognize it's not his natural language, but words and sentences are very well pronounced, perhaps his "R"s are too much evident, even for an italian like me, but this gives his singing a peculiar feature I find really amazing :-)

For me, the greatest, most diverse voice in modern music. Love this album, but return here over and over agin if just for the sight of Patton's unbridled joy. Consider myself very fortunate to have caught FNM on the Angel Dust tour in '92, but would sacrifice a bollock to have in attendance for this performance... and Mr Bungle... and Tomahawk... and Fantomas... and Peeping Tom. That's a lot of bollocks.
Agreed. I only come back occasionally for a music video fix. Trying to get my Mike fix today. It's a 30 year addiction to Mike now. Surprised I haven't overdosed yet.

mina's version is best, and always will be, but i think that was the version that mike is familiar with. he does such a good job of putting the proper emotion into this song, passionate and heartwrenching but in a positive way. he really captures the feeling of the tune
