Instead of painting on the walls, the big box stores sell 2'x2' pieces of drywall usually used for patching. When I was choosing a color for my house, I painted my colors on those pieces and it allowed me to move them around the house without making any patches on my wall

The way we are picking colors is, we find an inspiration photo. I can visualize however my husband has a tough time with that but when I find a photo that either gets the idea across or shows an example of how I want the room to look it helps him sooo much. He’s always second guessing me when I want to be bolder though. And I’m just like trust me please! Lol

Because I want to change furniture and wall colours should I choose the lounge suite first then work from there? I was going to paint first, but I am thinking its easier to match the paint rather than try and find furnishings to match the paint, I am a retired so this will be my last chance to change everything. Would love to see a video of what sheen to use, your thought about painting the moldings, trim, crown molding, switch plates, etc. the same color as walls, and thoughts on door stops (what color to use (imo they should not stand out)) and when painting doors a different color, what parts of the door should be painted. Just a thought

I had my entire interior house painted high gloss. It’s like a jewelry box. When the sun comes through, I sit there, loving it. My contractor didn’t want to do it, it didn’t seem right to him. But oh the beauty.

I did the exact same thing! My entire house is done in high gloss and and have two black metallic walls also! I LOVE the look! My contractor also thought I was nuts, especially high gloss black, then he fell in love with it lololololol

I have an urgent need of your great expertise and taste: I just got 2 dark navyish patina busts on FBMP and need them.to be alabaster white( like original white busts are) I think RustOleum is a stark white...and ...nope! Need a spray paint with some sheen and not a stark white but between White, Ivory, off white color. Confused and afraid to make a mistake! PLEASE HELP ASAP!! My living room.makeover stuck right now with these dark busts which are focal points, THE theme really. Thanks to you and all your followers that may come with a great idea!!

Thanks for this video. I am considering repainting my living room and I appreciate the information on how to identify undertones. I really want to pick the right color upfront and not go through what I did for my bedroom that I wanted in a light blue- blues are tricky I discovered- after 3-4 different color samples I finally settled on one closest to what I was looking for but honestly it is not what I really hoped for but I realize it may be that it’s the lighting/ location in the house that is affecting the look. Oh well, I might retry the bedroom some other time. I did paint a ombré accent wall in that bedroom that made the room look nice so I was happier with the blue shade on the rest of the room 😆

i always wanted blacks navy or peacock blue interiors similar to you but im glad i didnt act on it yet! now im dying to have a black home exterior ( shaker house ) with dark wood accents by the trim and door with the pure white scandi and light woods interior ( which is something i never imagined liking)

I love natural hues found in nature!!!! We painted our stucco home the same color as The Biltmore, we get so many compliments.....except our house is a lot smaller! Hahaha

In regards to moving around furniture, I say just plan how you intend to use the room and then just move things around until it feels right! In my case, that process is endless!! Lol!!

So are we meant to make everything within the same colour palette. As in, my kitchen is a dove grey but it’s blue based. I’m about to paint my kitchen can I go for a warmer white or will that look weird?

What is your opinion on trim color changes from room to room? Crazy-sauce or cool? I want to paint the hallway that has all the bedrooms in a unique color, but there are so many doors that I’m considering doing the trim/doors the same color.

I use home depot ,swisscoffee for a white ,it works with all lights and color ,I have white walls (swiss coffee ) and some accent walls with limousine black ,and my floors are a warm classic hardwood floor ,no gray in my house just not feeling the gray tones ,,,good luck

I just recently downloaded Morpholio and found it pretty easy to use. There is a free version which I find to be sufficient, but if you want more bells and whistles there are upgrades you can pay for.

Thank you for discussing undertones!! I went to my BM and when I questioned the undertones in some of the grays they said what are you talking about 🤯😜 I said you own a paint store and you can’t tell me the undertones - I ended up buying 6 samples so I could figure it out at home hahahahahahaha

I have been watching your videos for the past several months, and I have to say you seem to have the video I need right when I need it. I’m a renter and I really want an accent wall. I think my landlord will okay it, but the bigger problem is my living room is open and the whole house is a beige not white. I’m doing a cozy natural boho with black accents. I really have narrowed it down to a dusty type pink, a pinky terra-cotta or black for my accent wall. I’m definitely leaning black. Would this be a mistake with the beige walls surrounding it. Please help Valentina!

There are more factors that just the direction of the house. You might have a red brick house outside the window that reflects back into the room. Test them and see how they look to know for sure! 🖤

Alrakita S I have polar bear in both small bedroom both north side. It is great for a fresh airy look. I just painted my front room and entry chantilly and it is stark.. But not styled with furniture so now I will mellow it out or add tons of colour. Going to try mellowing it out or painting it again ugh!

@@AVA-MARIA I had the same question. This is what I came across on a web search "Behr Hematite N460-6 / #5f615f Hex Color Code The hexadecimal color code #5f615f is a medium dark shade of green. In the RGB color model #5f615f is comprised of 37.25% red, 38.04% green and 37.25% blue."

Time to be that person asking for advice...I have a beautiful office space with original hardwood built-ins from the 1920s. Someone painted the room a dark irony red color (not kidding) and I’m unsure as to how to paint over such a dark color correctly. HELP please 😘!!

I would definitely consult a person at your point of purchase of your new paint to see what their recommendation is, but a base coat and multiple coats usually does the trick for me!!
