its interesting that due to her astonishing beauty...sometimes I think people forget what a great actress she is. In this film.... she conveys so much emotion simply in her movements and facial expression.... the actress portrays a woman of incredibly complex emotion... a woman whose beauty is far deeper than can be measured from looking upon her...and a woman of sadness and a great capacity for love and incredible strength. The acting is beyond amazing.
She was a phenomenal actress. I hate to say I'm not sure what's she's been in recently, but I've always admired her. She's also been cursed with absolute beauty, which takes away from how amazing she is at her craft. Much love!
Its not just and always lust. To behold a beautiful woman, for men, is to be struck with the terrible awe of nature. Men have been coded to seek out beauty. It is our curse. Because beauty is a judge.
Italy has had it's fair share of lovely actresses, and as far as I'm concerned, Monica, is the most beautiful one of all. Sophia Loren is legendary, and she, too, was gorgeous, but I always considered Claudia Cardinale the most beautiful Italian actress until Ms. Bellucci came along. Monica is almost 60 and she's still a beautiful, charming lady.
It's a sad film because she didn't deserve to be treated like this... However, life is cruel sometimes... In my opinion, it's the best performance you've done... My respect & congratulationes Mónica !!!!
Can't help but wonder if Monica's life ever resemble any of this movie. She clearly fits the part perfectly. All of us men look in wonder and awe as she comes into view. Only the young boy seems to hold a respectful reverence for the person inside that beautiful persona. Thought provoking and mysterious is her role in this movie. So beautiful that she is alone with her thoughts. Rarely does she look up at the gawkers, womanizers and jealous females, while walking yet,.. she holds her head high.
@@levondarratt787 And I'm 60 and have seen recent pictures of her too! Truly don't understand your comment as anything less than young, shallow, with little experience or knowledge of life past your age. The comment was of that time, in that movie, of that character and the knowledge and experience of seeing very similar situations in my life time. Thus, the wonder if she ever experienced the same, as she has been an amazing beauty in her life. I still think so too.
“Levon” is just a sad loser with too much time on his hands who has zero chance of ever having a woman like that. He’s spammed his insecure bitch-gossip on most of the comments here, just ignore him.
To this day, _Malèna_ remains a work of art in cinema, music, beauty and honesty! _John Keats_ once wrote: _"Beauty is truth, truth beauty"_ ... I believe he was right! A movie to be truly proud of, Ms. Bellucci. Ciao! 🇨🇦
Have you seen how horrible the men (and women) and even the boy treated her through their perverse gaze?? If it was from Malena's perspective, it would literally be a horror movie
Sometimes when beauty is irristable becomes curse specially when a person is socially unprotected by family and friends and decent amount of money. There can be thousands of advice but still humanity lives in jungle and in jungle lives townsman. - I love you 'Monica'
She took on this role wonderfully. I remember watching this movie 5 times. The scene when she got her hair cut and stoned made me sad, angry and bitter for her. The war satisfies the need for a leader on people's hardships.😔😔😔💀💀💀☠
At 58 she has aged very well indeed, but alas, even a goddess of beauty, such as she, succumbs to age. You can see her in the 2022 movie Memory with Liam Neeson so her career is alive and well and still working with big names in the movie industry. I wish her continued success in her ongoing career!
WTFF - that is not her, nor how she will ver look like...she is 50 now and old AF...this is CGI + face surgery - but still no chance to look like that,
This movie was great showing that how society judges a woman when they think she is alone....her beauty became curse for her , every women in town was jealous and every men tried to hit on her and they saw her with lustful eyes ...in the end when she is shown with her husband with her arms wrapped around his arm, people don't even dare to look or talk bad about her ....and that little boy secretly did a lot for her
This movie is a great example of how what we find beautiful is often something we weaponize against the person. That is, people are less interested in seeing the entire person and more invested in dissecting the “beautiful” being. I have heard people tell beautiful women “I'm sure you got that position with your beauty” or because “your boss thought you were attractive” and realized that those women were immensely skilled, only people chose to believe all there was to them was their beauty.
@@levondarratt787 movie came out in 2000, she was 35 at the time so definitely not cgi. That being said even now at 58 she's still one of the most beautiful actresses out there.
I don't know how she ended up in my feed but I can relate to this in a way. I don't know how to deal with it. I be nice to them because I love being in good spirits. Which sometimes can be difficult in a world almost filled with hate.
beauty, can also be your prison. excellent storytelling. anyway, she also did great in “Call My Agent!” (with the fabulous Camille Cottin) on Netflix in recent years, where she made an appearance, for anybody perusing comments. her creative work, not just her looks, is why I’m a monica belluci disciple. bless.
