Maybe he was also embarrased when Blaine finds his and Dinesh's swot board. But maybe it wasnt embarresment and more like fear of getting his ass kicked by Blaine.
And what's hilarious is he knew he had stepped in it early. As much as he knew his stuff and had his position on doing an ICO, he didn't want a piece of Monica 😂😂
I wonder if they hooked up that night they wrote that code......I'm sorry......GILFOYLE wrote all the complex code, Monica supplied the cigarettes.....they probably didn't but maybe.
"I'd rather just listen if it's all the same to you." It's amazing how often that is the best choice and even more amazing how rarely anyone chooses it...
Honestly, I don't think that's it (in this case). Its HIS business they're always talking about so he sees it as them talking a lot but it's always about his business (aka him) and not a reciprocal relationship where he asks about her life, her job, etc. Comes across more as self-absorption or being too invested in his company to care about his surroundings/other people. (It's been years since I've seen the show though.)
I love how Gilfoyle always knows when to push; but, never gets out of line with it... When Monica is pissed, she is that line. Gilfoyle's character was perfect. Never was annoying once.
Women are the shot on this show. Gylfoyle doesn't stand a chance. Not with this one, not with her girlboss, and not with hos own girlfriend that kiwks him on the regular.
@@akshaynatu6568 pretty much any 3rd line from any series has more power lol, people in RU-vid comments literally be like the most random shit ever was my favorite line from the series'"
@@snap-off5383 Eh. If I'd call Gilfoyle anything with that word in it, it's Shroedinger's Beta. He's superpositioned in a state of beta and alpha, simultaneously.
That's why they wrote it in. There are several references to his polyamory, including that other time a woman thought he was gay and in a relationship with Jared, and in the ensuing conversation he says he has "many partners, probably too many".
His wife, who by the way was way out of his league, knew about him fucking around. He basically pressured her into an open marriage. Heˋs said to be a total creep who hit on every woman. She endured it for some while, but good for her she eventually ended it.
She isn't entirely right either, an ICO is a gamble but if it worked out they'd be way better off than contractually stuck to a VC firm, the question is the stability it. Those same VC firms would act against the company's interests the second it becomes more profitable and say its just business. All the things that Monica listed, legal advice, staffing etc... can be easily outsourced to a third party that isn't taking nearly as big a bite of the pie.
And that’s how it actually is in SV - they show up for the Tech (you may be too young to remember the famous line ‘we’re not in it for the money, we’re changing the world!’) - then it becomes all about the money, whatever it takes.
honestly it made the series way less interesting. it's insane how many chances richard got to push his projects and every single time because of either his stupidity or his arrogance he kills his own projects and sinks whatever he has. i mean, there are parallels to stuff that happens in the real world but the show got really dull halfway through cause it became too predictable
And that's why Gilfoyle looked so crestfallen - he realised that an attempted funny was actually an uncomfortable truth his friend still had stabbed into their guts. Because unless you want to kill someone, you don't twist the knife.
Funny scene, but Richard and Monica are in a business relationship not a romantic one. Just because you have done business with someone in the past doesnt mean you are under any obligation to keep doing business with them if you get a better offer from someone else. There is nothing disrespectful about Richard going to his current business partner, telling her that he considers another deal and asking her whether she can convince him not to do it/asking her for reasons why her deal would be better than an ico. If you have dealings with a person who calls you a cheater if you tell them about their competition instead of convincing you that they are providing the best service to you, you should terminate that relationship. If they dont know the advantages of their product/service there probably are none.
For anyone thinking this was anti-crypto, even with a few coins being way up from this, a vast majority that started around this time are worth literally .000001 dollars a coin.
To be fair Gilfoyle had a point about Laurie. Monica isnt exactly unbiased here considering Laurie did indeed sabotage Pied piper early on with the law suit, fire Richard at one point, and even forced the sale of his company. Id hesitate to EVER trust her with that much power on my company after getting screwed by VC so many times. Laurie cant be trusted.
Why does Hollywood think their female characters have to use the f word in every sentence? They think it shows strength but it just comes across as crude. Male executives don’t talk like that unless they’re weak.
I love how Richard goes from mansplaining what an ICO is to Monica and her instantly making him the idiot he is and illuminating how almost every decision Richard makes without adult supervision is wrong, and likely will further destroy himself with. It’s pretty much the story arch.
