"Sentimentai" has very poetic lyrics and it definitely has a retro vibe - even the lyrics themselves have that old timey touch. At the same time there's something futuristic about the sound, isn't there? I can't fully place it in any genre category, and Monika herself called this "spooky disco" :D The song is sung by a woman who lives in the past, in her memories, and she is thinking about an old lover who left and isn't coming back. But she sounds happy and a little delusional because she's absolutely fine living in the past :D The lyrics are very poetic, like I said, so I think they're quite open to interpretation.
