I have monhiletrix, like all my family on my father's side. When I was little people didn't understand but now it passes for the beginnings of baldness. The scalp is also a little sensitive, it itches easily when it is oily. If I wear headphones every day, I know that in a month I lost all my hair where the headphones are 😖 (Doctors in France know absolutely nothing about this condition😶)
Unfortunately nothing more than the methods mentioned in the video. It may have a tendency to improve over the years. Avoiding trauma decreases hair fracturing
@@profLidiaRudnicka Thanks for your response it really helps me. I'm using Minoxidil kirland 5% which is for men but I'm a 24 year old girl. Because I think it's more effective. If you have any recommendations for any shampoos or pills that I could use Pls share them with me.❤why does it improve during pregnancy? And what are oral Minoxidils ? You mean Tablets? I couldn't find any In Iran
My grandmother, the mother of my dad had monilethrix, she dies really young in her 40's due to Cystic fibrosis, But before it, When she started treatment for cystic fibrosis, her hair grew long and healthy, sadly she died. I'd like to find a cure, because, my brother, my dad and me have. monilethrix . It's really a hell to live with this condition.
Hello, Professor, I want to ask you about my daughter. She is 6 years old. She was born with normal hair, but it thinned a little. I shaved it so that it could grow again, but it only grew some hairs. Knowing that we did all the necessary tests, including an analysis of the thyroid gland and anemia, and the results were excellent. I used minoxidil for her, but it fell out again every time. Is this case monilathrex, and is it true that her hair can grow in adulthood, and can I use minoxidil again or not? Thank you.
@@profLidiaRudnicka What about minoxidil? Can I use it for her or should I wait until she is 12 years old? Is there any hope that it will grow as hormones change in adulthood? Thank you.
There are not many options. Avoiding mechanical trauma to the hair is most important. Topical minoxidil 2% may improve the quality of hair (just applying to the scalp, not rubbing). Oral minoxidil may give some improvement in adults, but in a child this would require discussing the options with a pediatrician. Sorry, but as for now there is no "cure", just the possibility of some improvement. In a child it is also psychologically good to not overemphasize the problem. This is my opinion.
There are no data on this. But this would only be a question of hair from non-affected areas transplanted to affected areas. There are no allogenic transplantation of hair.
