Etrata, the silencer also uses hit counters. Mari in an Etrata deck for instakill after a boardwipe

It's not an instant kill you still have to get a hit in with etrata for the effect to take place and see those hit counters. But yes she will be going in my Volrath/mutate-Etrata deck and I may even just make a deck with her alone.

For Giada, there's also major lifegain opportunities with Righteous Valkyrie. Gain life equal to an angel's or cleric's toughness as it ETBs. Each subsequent angel's toughness gets bigger and bigger as you load up your field.

I play valkyries and I was just thinking the same. Also goes good with that new legendary artifact that came out too. Doubles your creatures 1+\1+ counters.

Giada is amazing and she finally made me decide to make a mono-white angel deck. Angels are my favorite tribe. I have an Orzhov Angel/Cleric deck, a Boros Angel/Soldier deck, a Selesnya Angel/Human deck, and many many other decks where I just shove some angels in. But now... now I am finally making a mono-white angel deck and I can't wait to play it. Just need Giada to come out already so I can finish the deck! I don't care for New Capenna's setting, but this card alone made me excited for the set to come out.

I had a Giada deck in its works before prerelease. Pulled her during from my prerelease box! I had most of the cards you suggested in my deck other then Starhime Unleshed. Someone suggest that card, but i analysed it and decided it was too slow. Foretelling it. Waiting till the next turn, make X Angels. Having to wait till the next turn for them to attack with.

@@mangohub3252 Hofri is getting a lot of attention online now and I think that she will fit perfecrt there. Blitz her for 2, use her ability, at the end of turn dies, draws you a card (plus the card of the token dying) and Hofri makes you a token of Jaxis.

Y'all brought up uba mask, it and effects like it might be the some of the strongest equalizers in any deck that wants to impulse draw. I run these effects in my Prosper, Tome Bound list and I've seen it put in work in Laelia, The Blade Reforged lists. When life incentivizes you to run lemons, give everyone else lemons and be the only one at the table with sugar and water.

Didn't expect too much from the mono colored stuff with the set being tri color focused, but there are some solid options. I love the cards White got from this set.

Btw, the new Casualty mechanic works great with Errant. I think that's why this card is in THIS set specifically. I know there's not a ton of mono blue stuff still in this category, just worth mentioning. Especially if you're talking about putting Errant in the 99 of a deck with lots of casualty stuff (aka the new Grixis commander).

may i just say in my opinion that Urabrask, Heretic Praetor is the worst one out of this list. As i have seen it helps your opponents to much in a multiple of games, and its affect doesnt hurt your opponents that much unlike the other 2 praetors. if they wanted to give this card an affect like this then it should be like. "if an opponent would draw a card except the first one they would draw during each of their draw steps, exile those cards instead." please give yout thoughts on this is possible.

Errant seems good with the new casualty mechanic too, sac a creature to copy a spell once and pay 2 for the second copy. Especially with the new tutor, Illicit Shipment. 7 total mana and a 3 power creature to find any three cards in your deck.

I was excited about Jaxis on day 1. Imagine putting her in a Brudiclad deck! I know Feldon is very good, and I'll probably still urn him. But Jaxis. Oh my. All my tokens have half a Skullclamp on them, essentially. How badass is that!

@22:56 You missed the most relevant interaction with Jaxis! If you copy a 1/1 you get a 1/1 with "When this creature dies draw a card.", and if you copy that you get a 1/1 with "When this creature dies draw a card." and "When this creature dies draw a card." and so on. Untapping Jaxis multiple times in the same turn leads to some rediculous draw turns while doing damage at the same time! This is an untap deck I'm surprised Josh didn't make one yet.

Can't believe you guys missed Prava of the Steel Legion in Bracks. 4 mana make a 1/1 isn't a great rate but it lets you do it each turn, AND gives your board +1/+*4* during your turn!

Just a reminder, so you don't get false hope like I did. If you make a Jaxis copy of a Jaxis copy, (after either untapping or using Sundial/Obeka) it will not get a second instance of the "draw a card" clause. It will only keep the original printed text plus it's newly added draw a card and not stack multiple instances of it.

I gotta say as much as I love elesh norn. I belive the new urbrask is the best preator for a few reasons. His upside for you is huge. His downside for your opponents isn't back breaking. If in a vacuum can remove 1 preator and urbrask and any other are out they won't pick urbrask he's not very threatening and that little advantage you get will stack up quickly like if 2 people don't play 1 card out of 2 rotations you are up so much value and he has such a small target on his back compared to all the other preators who are kill on sight.

Having cards that "exile target players graveyard" or even "exile all graveyards" is one thing, but i'm so tired of the printing on actual creatures where you may not even be able to get rid of them that when an opponents creature dies, exile it instead. So now the player playing a Sacrifice strategy has to focus YOU because they can't play the game until that creature or thing is not in the game.

Massacre Girl works nicely with Mari. Acts as a board wipe when it hits the field, so gets a load of stuff into exile with hit counters, then is also an Assassin. Worth noting that Mari only has 2 toughness, so anything with more toughness won't be getting exiled to her effect unless you increase her toughness somehow.

Easy way to untap ezzarant as your commander is sacrifice it then re play it! So it could make for a fun combo deck of flickering and sacrificeing for infinite mana

I see Errent being used more like this "Oh? you are going to couner my FOrce of Will that stops your combo? well then i shall copy it with Errant to counter your counter" Also that Jin-Gitaxias is insane and i bet just about any blue cEDH deck would run it as free counter spell and you get to copy your stuff i see no reason to not run it and they will run high costing stuff if they think it is worth it which that card seems like it is

Yep, errant is a better strionic resonator in Volo. I am very hype and its probably going to be super cheap because its a very fringe effect.

Angelic Sleuth and Sanctuary Warden from New Capenna both synergize really nicely with Giada to give more card draw, which you really need in Mono-W. You can use her +1/+1 counters to fuel Sanctuary Warden and keep its shield counters to protect it to swing, while most of your angels coming in with +1/+1 counters means they'll all investigate with Angelic Sleuth. Pretty neat!

Mari, the Killing Quill combos incredibly well with Etrata the Silencer since she's putting hit counters on your opponents creature. A great suggestion for any Etrata decks. (Plus side they're both vampire assassins)

Sadly no. Proliferate says permanents and players, and an exiled card is neither of those things. Would be sweet, though.

One of the things that I really really appreciate about the command zone is Mr. Infect "manacost =(N) Mr. Wong manacost correction " manacost =(N+) Mr. Wong (unspoken...oh sorry you were right) and no one is salty at the end of it....and of course they were both correct 😉
