Too many notes. Just kidding. In my generation it was Mahavishnu Orchestra and Weather Report that took it to the next level. These kids are doing it again. Thanks for the upload!
Andre 3000 is a Genius for this💯💯t This particular arrangement is from Outkast The Love Below side. #Fun Fact Andre 3000 programmed the drums Members of the funk band Cameo played the Keys and Bass💯💯 Kevin Kendrick on keys and Aaron Mills on Bass
For real this version is so fucking good, audio quality is super nice, the energy in the crowd brings so much more, playing is insane, I get goosebumps every time I listen to it. Thanks a lot for uploading, cheers from France
I love how at 4:27-4:31 Domi is playing so fast the synth portamento (glide between notes) can't even keep up so the tone is just sliding around. Wild.
Highly talented younglings on keys and drummer.. and then there's this totally awesome bassist who played an upside down bass tightly while wearing a google with a sticker slapped on it.. Idk if it could get any weirder (for a good reason) than this😅
Heard them back a years or so ago and my ear just couldn't understand it, been diving into more jazz and experimental music since then and now it's like ear porn to me. Same thing for me with Jacob Collier, Mono Neon.
3:13 where he switches the sticking and the back beat is on his right hand for a while,!! Really frees up the tonalities. After that it’s all more pure fun!
Holy moly super sick, this is impossible.. JD at '3:05' : "...after I tuned my snare while playing, let's just switch hands, so I can play more sickness.."..
he had a little splash cymbal sitting on the snare, he simply removed it at that point. in a way, you could argue that is tuning it as it would certainly change the sound.
He's similar to Louis Cole: small kit with fast snare; JD is more indebted to the great Jojo Mayer. They're both great but Aron Mellergård of Dirty Loops' massive fills really do it for me.
Kashikura Takashi (Toe), Dave King (The Bad Plus), Brian Blade, Nate Wood, Martin France. JD is phenomenal, reminds me of Chris Dave, but if you haven't watched the above, you don't know what you are missing.
I know this song from anime Kids on The Slope. anime that chance my mind to jazz music. And i really love your arrangement. ❤️ Very energic and soulful. Much love from Indonesia ❤️
You can't see him very well, but, in the beginning of this video, Mono is standing in front of Domi, on the left. If you didn't know, Mono is a skinny Black guy, who is an extraordinary bassist!❤
My instructor in school would have said “I’m not really hearing the changes” lol. I’m not sure it occurred to him that not everyone is always trying to play the changes.
It’s amazing but dude it is kinda busy sometimes I mean I love chops but there were some held back moments that actually sounded the best - the pull beat section was fantastic
@@searlwet What is every generation supposed to have heard of every formerly popular music group before their time? Nothing worse than this attitude right here.
@@0willow0 didn’t realize I had an attitude. Seeing as how some of the musicians are younger than most people watching the vid I would have thought the title or description would have had it in there. Since it is an homage
@@creeksaway JD Beck is dope.....but not even in the same book as Chris Dave......he will even admits he has alot of growth to experience......he is definitely on the right track.
