I'm starting to feel suicidal with it 😭 I have it in both eyes which is really rare, I can see it when I cover both eyes, it's much worse in my left. I can't cope with it for much longer, it's got worse in the last few weeks
I just turned 18 and I'm starting to get symptoms exactly like this, I tend to find peace in God, please know you are not alone and there are people who can help, do not let anxiety beat you down. It will be okay
There are more of us out here that are going through the same thing. Usually this is caused by dry eye, that can cause irregularities in the cornea, at least for me, the thing that caused mine were latanoprost eye drops meant to reduce intraocular eye pressure. They dried my eyes out badly which most likely caused my ghosting If anyone is interested, there is a subreddit for support for those of us with this problem.
What is the subreddit? I been having some of this recently. I think my eyes are staying slightly open at night causing air to go into my eyes. Also I use a. CPAP machine so that probably makes it worse
I need to find an expert in Monocular Diplopia for my 18yr old daughter who has been suffering with this for many years without relief no matter how many doctors in this are she has seen. She has seen 12 to 16 doctors from South Jacksonville FL to Atlanta GA without anyone able to help her. Please help?
I need help, since last december I noticed my vision rapidly degraded, and i realized that I started seeing vertical double vision, ghost double vision, its happening in both my eyes even if I close either or. It's there when I look at things up close and far away, but recently at night when i look at the moon I realized that Im seeing multiple moons overlapping each other not just 2... I tried to get help from a doctor all the way back in June but they did not really help me, only took a blood test then they sent me to an optimetrist, but the optimetrist told me I dont have double vision but might have dry eyes, Ive been putting eye drops for months and so far it is only getting worse, I feel as if I can't get any help even from doctors and I feel hopeless and fusturated. I live in Canada and our "free" healthcare has been shit healthcare. I think its neurological, its there all the time and does not go away, and I can't get any help from anyone... what do I do?
At 1:21, Dr Lee describes the test with the multi-pinhole gadget. Home players might try using the lid from a salt or pepper shaker. Avoid getting salt, and especially pepper, in the eye.
Not sure if youll reply but i have a question. My whole life ive been told i have "monocular vision" but im not sure what the even means or if thats true or not. I can see great out of each individual eye but i switch back and forth between my right and left eye. Say im using my right eye, i can still see from my left eye but it moves all around and to me its just like its not focused on anything in particular. Just looking for a name that could be what i have. I had surgery when i was young because i was born with crossed eyes. Whenever i look into a mirror my eyes straighten so i dont know how bad my eyes look until i swe myself in someone else's picture. Would love an explanation if you have one. Thank you!!
You said it by yourself, you sometime see with your right eye and sometime with your left eye (that's the monocular vision) because your brain is not used to merge the two images from both eyes in one image. That's why you switch between your eyes and fixate with just one eye. The reason could be strabismus or occluded eye at birth ( because of cataract or any other reason).
Hi. I was born with crossed eyes or double esotrophia, as well. It's my understanding, since I'm not a Dr, that we will never be able to look at the same object with both eyes. That's my case, anyway. I've had as many surgeries that I can have, as I don't have enough muscle left to work with. See an Opthamologist and ask them if you're a candidate for surgery, but after a certain age, you will have double vision after surgery. I had surgery at the age of 33, and the Dr never informed me of this, or I never would have got another one. Sure, my eyes wander, especially when I'm tired and I have lazy eyes, but I can see, and for that, I'm grateful, so I don't care what other's might think or say. Most don't notice. Good luck.
I know nobody will probably answer my question, but we'll give it a shot regardless. Last night I started getting diplopia at work. It was legit double vision... When I covered one eye... the problem went away. When I covered the other eye, it eye away again. The problem lasted approx 2 hours. All blood work came back perfect, except I was slightly anemic. The eye tests came back good, etc. etc. Do you think that could be because of dry eyes? I work in a hospital, it can be pretty dry inside there (like a lot of hospitals). I wonder if it was caused by dry eyes? I just sat there and it went away.
If it goes away when you cover either eye (goes away when you cover your left and goes away when you cover your right) it's not monocular diplopia. This is likely neurological in origin and you need to go to the doctor now.
@@chrism6904 did brain scans, they found nothing... eventually got a real professional doctor and he said a specific oval-shape of the eye could be causing vertical double vision... did some eye tests, looks like it disappears with the right lenses. So i guess its that...
In the same situation, I'm getting worried. Been to the optomitrist twice, this week opthalmologist and going back again for more test next week, it's getting worse. It sucks. All the best to you.
I have monocular diplopia is there a way to fix it I've heard about operations but I'm not sure if there's any other treatment what should I do doc? Any advice please?
Same here i have it like 5 years it got worse every day , i had no touch surgery 6 months ago but that didnt help either neurology retina and cornea is clear i think the problem is because of the eye lens. Are you looking to laptop phone screen to much?
@@blacknight793 well for me is something from the day by day using my cell phone is needed for my work but mine hasn't been worse, I've had it since my accident Dec/2014 I'm getting used to it but if there's a way to fix it I don't mind to do it wish I could fix it then I'll be doing it
