thank you for these incredibly helpful videos, for a visual learner as I am they are a game changer!!! I just tried stitching out some intials and was disappointed in the script letters since they are all connected by jump stitches which need to be trimmed. Is there any way to tie off the thread after individual letters automatically ?

I believe that each letter is tied off so I would just snip the threads to get rid of them. At least that's what I do ;)

The best place to get this information is from a Janome authorized dealer (I'm not a dealer or Janome rep). They should be able to explain the differences between these two machines, which are very similar.

You'd have to do two separate lines of stitching, I believe. I don't have this machine anymore so I would check with your Janome dealer for exact details but I don't believe you can do more than one line at a time.

How do you make the letters larger? Even when I press the button fora larger script it remains very small

The monograms on sewing machines will only go to a certain size and they aren't very large. To do large letters, you really need to use an embroidery machine where you can stitch them just about any size you'd want.

I have the Janome Horizon purchased several years ago - from what I can tell, there is no way to squeeze the letters closer together - this makes the "script" function almost useless in my opinion, because the individual cursive letters are too far apart to look normal. Do you have any tricks for making the letters, whether block or script closer together?

There isn't much you can do to change the spacing unless you stitched one letter at a time and moved your needle to where you want that letter to start on your fabric and then stitched - quite time consuming but it could work.

Hi Kim, thank you for the tutorial. Is there a way to put multiple lines of text...say I want the first line to say "Carol Leary" then under it "Feb. 9, 2018" Then the next line "Sewn with love for Christa Leary" or is that something we have to do in 3 stages? Thank you!

I'll have to check on this for you... I'm not sure that you can as there are larger and smaller sizes built into the machine in this area.

Hi: I often draw a line with an erasable pen on the fabric and use the edge of the foot to follow along it when I'm stitching.

I have a Janome MC 11000 and I am so lost it is not funny . I want to learn monogram really bad but have NO idea how or where I am a hands on person.. Any help please

Hi Shelley: I'm not familiar with that machine, but I would suggest: 1. Check with your local Janome dealer as they typically provide lessons on machines they sell 2. Check on RU-vid to see if there are videos on that particular machine. Sorry, I'm not able to help you with this one, but hopefully you'll be able to get help from one of these options.
