I use two of the smaller brothers of this line of subs . The 10 inch subs , single ported and looks the same just smaller. Nearly 100 pounds each , insanely well build for a 10inch .. and drops really deep

LMAO I love your reviews they crack me up... it reminds me of a buddy of mine he’s a total scatter brain but a complete genius... don’t take that the wrong way I enjoyed every minute of this you are brilliant! Just ordered my second HSU sub the ULS-15MK2... loved it so much I needed a second one. You should do a review of them they are fantastic and I think for the price they can’t be beat! It shakes my whole house.

At 18:40 "I may need to lower that..." I proceeded to turn my volume up. Nice and clean sounding... and very deep. Enjoyed on a set of Shure SE846's driven by a BTR5. :) Very much enjoyed. **edit** At 20:45, I can't tell which impresses me more - the sub or the mic's. But that was seriously impressive- it felt like my head was shaking... **edited for spelling**

@@ViewIndepth - well, all earbuds benefit from being sealed into your ears. Thst greatly increases the bass (or should we say, not being sealed loses all of it). 'Good' earbuds mostly seal better, or more easily - beyond that you start talking about the sound quality. Maybe look into alternate tips if you can? Because it sounds like you have a case of open earbuds... and that's just not fun.

"Good news" by Mac Miller, its the edge of tomorrow for my music list lol. Rips a pretty good low off the start. "Thats on me" is a more complex song of his that has alot of layers, and there seems to be a rolling very low 20 something hertz wave just pulsing the drivers like youd see in an 90's cartoon or something. Highly recommend.

Lmao! Listening to this demo with my Monolith 10 sub was making my room shake! Love these subs! Luckily I got mine hooked up to a THX receiver so its just hits awesome in my opinion. I find it easy to adjust too. Don't need fancy gadgets besides receiver settings. Love the reviews Z!

I ordered two of these and they are monsters. Been very impressed by the subs, but not impressed by monoprice. One sub arrived with a broken grill. Didn't really notice til i had lugged them upstairs and installed them in my home theatre. Went to put the grill on and noticed it was crooked, had a crack in it. Had to contact monoprice 4 times before they finally told me send the whole sub back. I asked, can't you just send me a new grill, the sub is fine? They said no, send it all back or keep it as is. I wasn't lugging this monster back downstairs and packing it back up and transporting it somewhere just to get a good grill. I decided I'm living without the grill. Will go with a better company like jtr or rhythmik next time. I can't believe the level of idiocy that goes into that kind of policy. Think how much shipping for something that large costs and their only solution is to pay return shipping on the old one and pay for shipping a replacement out, not to mention the cost of processing a return, and that replacement grill might cost 20 bucks by comparison.

gotta use common sense, monoprice doesn't make extra grills on the side each and every one of those things comes in the box. If they told you to send it back just do what they ask and stop making a big deal. They are giving you quality product for a cheap price , if you aren't happy go purchase SVS and overpay for the price but you get great return policies.

@@blunderingknifereviews1028 Crazy. I've had good results with Monoprice customer service in the past, but I don't have that many monolith products....just a pair of headphones and some cables. Having said that, I do have their monolith atmos towers on my list of what I may buy. They offer a lot of bang for the buck but you do have to worry about the build quality and durability, which is offset by their good warranty, but if they are going to respond to issues like yours the way they did, they will lose business no question.

See, this is why I love your channel, and love watching your vids (aside from Chewbers!) even if I won't be buying the particular product you're reviewing. I'd probably never buy a $1300 sub ($600-800 would probably be my max), but I never thought to use xlr cables and adapters for long RCA runs. And I'm still wrapping my head around a mini dsp, and contemplating on whether or not it would be beneficial to my setup. Joining that $10 patreon soon so I can get some advice from you.

NW go with a HSU! You can get a insane 15inch sub for $800... I bought 1 and was completely blown away, they are extremely well made their sealed sub has a flat sub from 200hz down to 20hz +/-1 dB and can hit 12.5hz at 90dbs... I love it so much I just purchased a second one it arrives Friday! I don’t even have the first one turned up half way. The output is insane, literally house shaking much like the sub in this video. Music sounds fantastic on it too, you won’t be disappointed. I don’t think there’s a better sub at that price point when it comes to overall value it will outperform subs anywhere near its price point.

belive me or not, but i could hear the base fud,, with my ATH-M60x headphones, plus my Emotiva flex amp,, plus Quad D/A converter, and it sounded sweet as mate! I had a Paradigm 10in sub, that was inclosed in the box, so you couldnt see the sub at all, that thing shock my hole house, no kidding around!!!. but yer that sound reminded me of some good times!.

Wow, the Best Video of the year so far. Why not have both Left and Right crossed over signal going into the Minidsp instead of just one? Or is it just the .1 from the receiver? And yes we need a dedicated video on how to utilize the Minidsp to its potential. I have just managed to get the EQ, however, Time Alignment, phase and such I am still a bit lost.

Your great review led me to purchase this Monolith 15. It sounds amazing in your video🥰 Unfortunately, I seemed to gotten a bad defective product.😢 I calibrated THX mode properly with my Pioneer Elite receiver. The sound coming out was very weak and had weird noise which sounded like I'm inside of water. Sound output volume was roughly 1/4 of my Polk PSW505 subwoofer. There's no way this monster should sound tiny and smaller than my Polk sub. Yup I got a defective product😤 I contacted Monoprice via chat and I got their response right away. They emailed me all the necessary labels to send it back. This sub weights nearly 130lbs and it's huge. It was almost nightmare carrying and climbing up the stairs to bring it in my apartment. Also it was such a pain to take out from the box. Don't get me wrong, I still would like to enjoy the subwoofer if it actually works.. Ugh I'm not excited to put it back into the box but I will soon of course. I will be sending it back next week and hopefully my replacement would work fine... I'm worried 😟 I was so bummed about it because my birthday is coming next week and this subwoofer was my birthday present for me😔 Wish me luck because I really want to love this subwoofer.

Why suggest putting it on its side if cramped for space? That will just take up more space. Let it take up vertical space (as its designed to) than floor space.

I am pretty happy with my little sealed 10 inch but this sounds pretty clean for not using room correction.... Though before dropping 1.4k I would question whether it's better to buy two smaller cheaper sealed subs, a couple mini dsps and a room correction mic.... heck if you snipe sells, JBL 530 pair, 300$ Two 550ps subs 400$ Mini dsp x2 200$ room correction mic 100$ 200$ dac amp... your still looking at spending less then one of these subs.My brain is too value oriented for some of this stuff man...

@@bigjay1970 I also have 2x550P subs, but it's for my 'mostly music & gaming' 5.2 setup connected to my PC. I sometimes fire up netflix too. They sound fantastic, but they don't hit super low, that's the thing. You need a 15" if you want to hear/feel really deep stuff that's in movie soundtracks.

@@bvaljalo Agree if you're into moving the whole house foundation you do need a 15 inch sub but for my needs these two 550p subs of have which I paid $189 a piece sure work well enough for me at this moment! They match perfectly and of course they would with my 590's in the front two channels!!😇

Hey Z Reviews thanks for the superb content man! What are your thoughts on connecting subs wirelessly through wireless transmitter. I just order the monolith m215 sub crawl is going to be fun with that mammoth but I was thinking about going wireless. I will most likely get a mini dsp in the future but do you think I’ll be alright with the basic settings on the m215 until then. Thanks again for the quality content Z Reviews. @@andrewjewell8209 just to fill you in for the future,, I got the SVS soundpath wireless transmitters. They are fantastic! No loss of sound quality, depth, perception, finesse or intensity. No issues with other devices wireless device (and there's tons aroumf) and just as important, I experienced zero latency. Didn't even have to make changes in the bass mgt.

Razor computers owns THX. Prior was Creative Labs. Not sure who is left at THX. 12amp fuse means a maximum of 1440w. So if it sounds good; legit. The price is high compared to the no name Chinese imports though. Many of which sound amazing for the (much lower) price. Just saying for those looking for a deal. I listened to this with my dual 12” Acoustech’s. Like $300 a pop. Sounded deep, room shaking, huge.

zeeeeeeos, hey, how about comparing the Rythmik to the Monolith 15", OR one similar in price/size? with my hifiman drop 4XXs i can hear the depth charge like bass when it comes along, though not as impressive as the monolith 1060s which have i a high frequency glitch that bothers me. this is all with the little amp built into my klipsch pro-media 2.1 speakers (which are great for what they are). i will likely get the monolith thx dac/amp for $500. i am hesitant to spend too great a chunk of change on much more equipment than i already have at the age of 74. i can usually satisfy myself with frugality as long as the quality is there. Chewbacca is a great little cat with a likable participation trait. now and again i see her react to the sound. our cats respond amusingly to the video intended for cats with all the birds and stuff. i can get the title if you like. one last word about the better microphone set you used...GAHDAM! it sounded like you were in my room off to my left. it sounded as if i weren't wearing headphones. eerie (not Pennsylvania). ...hifitommy

Question. I bought 2 monoprice 10's, and one of them makes static/ airplane sounding noises. If I unplug it it works normally for awhile, then eventually does it again. Anyone know whats causing that?

It sounds like it is most likely a defective power supply in the sub. It could be a source or cable issue but they should be more consistent and not go away when you cycle the power on the sub alone. Have you tested if the sound goes away when you unplug the input source, leaving the sub plugged in and powered on.

@@carcaviar9321 it just doesn't seem like a ground loop to me, although I admit I am not a professional. The way I was looking at it was, because there was no source plugged in when it makes the noise and the sub is always fine when first powered on, and only after being powered on for a while does it start to make the noise and then if he cycles the power the sub will be silent again for a while. That sounds to me like once something inside gets charged up it causes the issue. I don't know for sure though and like you said, if it's possible it would be best to try to exchange or warranty repair it.

Got rid of 2 of mine for one of these. Going to sell the other 2. I had them stacked anyways so didn’t benefit from having them spread out. One Monolith is over double the watts and digs much deeper in bass frequencies. Yes.not to mention Klipsch amps fail.
