This video has been created for those who are learning Japanese language.
In this video, almost all of kanji in the Japanese subtitles are given furigana.
So it's perfect for people who are not good at kanji.
You can also learn Japanese that are actually used.
Let's listen to real Japanese that is not in ordinary Japanese textbooks.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm paying a lot of attention to Japanese subtitles. But I'm not good at writing English, so there may be some mistakes in English subtitles.
Please consider English subtitles to be your help only if you don't understand my Japanese.
I like the visual irony of talking about your expenses at the start of the video, and a McLauren Supercar just takes off around the corner
I worked in Roppongi from 90 to 92 and I can still recall there was a "Cozy Corner" restaurant close to the road junction end and there was a Maruzen Bookshop I visited much often to the left of the junction reachable along the highway.To go to my office I needed to turn right from the junction and walk down slope to reach a building called Ark Mori which was next to the ANA Hotel. Thank you for the posting and this brings to me a lot of good memory during my stay in Tokyo!
Definitely the difference in the prices for stuff can balance lower salaries in some countries. For example where I live the minimun salary is the equivalent of 300円, but with a salary above the equivalent of 1000円 (yes, that low) some people can live as long as they dont have to pay rent. To me 30万円 sounds like millionaire money but in reality a lot gets eaten by taxes, rent, and fixed expenses like water and electricity.
Video suggestion: It would be fun to see what kind of customer experience it is when you go and buy a car (kuruma o kaimasu). Also I don't know how the process goes for a foreigner who needs a driver's licence. This kind of information could be fun and useful for a rich foreigner 😁
Hello Yusuke! Thank you so much for the video! It feels as if I've wandered around Tokyo streets with a good local friend. It's great to see the city (I miss it so much!) and learn more about the Japanese life at the same time. In terms of language learning, your video is even better than a real walk - thanks to subtitles and furigana. I know that it takes lots of time to do all the editting. Thank you so much again!
Salaries in Australia *are* higher, but the cost of living is also higher. I think it will depend on what industry you work in and what part of the country you live in as to whether the cost of living to income ratio is better in Australia or Japan. I've lived in both and I'm finding it a hard call.
In Poland you do have some bonuses for the number of years you have worked, but it's usually for the public sector - teachers, doctors, nurses, officials, etc. It's not so common in private companies. But what we do have is that the number of years in active employment means more days off and as a graduate you count in years at the uni. Some companies also allow for taking a couple of hours or even days off work if you had to do overtime, but they can be also paid extra if the law permits (sometimes it doesn't, and you will be asked to plan holidays).
It's interesting to hear your thoughts on this. I'm in America along the coast, so my salary is higher than even the rest of America, but the cost of goods to buy and rent is very expensive in comparison. I always thought Japan was very cheap when I visited, but seeing the average salary, this puts it into context better. Thank you for the kanji and furigana. It's a lot of new vocabulary for me, but I definitely learned a lot!
