Some musicians used weirdness as a gimmick. Some of the true brilliants are so far ahead of us, that we just didn't understand their style. Hendrix, G.Clinton, T.Monk, Jacco P, Little Richard, Prince, and I can go on with the elites that took us to another level.
what a groove man....when i whatched him playing with Eric Gales i thought it was a joke....them both playing upside down fenders... but this badass vid sorts that one out.....ps i'm right handed but play the strat jimi style even though i'm missing half of my righthand index... ...👍
Mononeon heavily effected alien grooves are more than mere mortals can grasp... but at 2:21 he graced us with one of his "human" touches of genius... then he goes back to his planet.
The band is out of sight. Everything is tight. The horn section at the end a la James Brown. Just funky. MonoNeon is bassist extraordinaire. Drummer, awesome, guitar, jammin' keys are on time love it. Keep up the funk. I'd buy it
Ok I just landed on earth and Woke up to these cats I am Totally BLOWN away, GOOG GOD Almighty These Cats are off the hook I NOW a MONONEON HUGE FAN being a drummer over 55 years Yeah I'm an OLD FUNK JAZZ R&B Cat from Way Back But Love these Young Lions just killing it FANTABULOUS
I'm blown away at how in sync and tight the band is...given the assumed acoustics, it makes that moment even more impressive with the different time signatures, tempo, intensity of the volume, and syncopation; My God!
@@milosjanic1038 nowhere, it's all in 4/4. that sax part at 3:55 probably gives off weird vibe, since the line pretty much starts in different places on all four bars
I think it's sad that Mono and Prince didn't get to continue working together as Prince sadly passed... I believe that they recorded the album "Black is the new black" which hasn't been released. 🙂
This makes me so happy, I'm so glad pdople are out there creating great music again! Real talent that is hard earned by relentless pursuit of mastering your instrument and doing it in ways never done before.
I've watched this several times now and have come to the conclusion that you all did the Purple Fussion Funk Proud! I've seen them all in their prime, Sly, Prince, George (Clinton & Duke), Rick, and Bootsy. This was refreshing for those of us who experienced the 60s, 70s, and 80s! PromentalShytBackWashPsychosis
@@sebastienmota9905 yes indeed, but he didnt change the order of the strings tho. Normally when you are a leftie you must change all the strings in order for the thickest one to be on top. Mono Neón left the thinest one on top so its very very weird
@@sebastienmota9905 what amazes me the most is how he slaps, he does the pulls in the upper strings and he slaps the 1st and 2nd string, it looks very akward but he nails it
I just love what is going on here! More please 🥰 Thank you for sharing the gift of who you are with the World MONO NEON! Have a beautiful NOW Brother! ❤🌎❤
This is the moment I've waited on for so long. Makes life safer for us. The entire orchestra is devine n sacred. All blessings n love. Wake my ears to love n sonic vibration
@@cusswordsayer3558 Unfortunately I don’t play, but I’ve been a very serious listener and lover of the bass since the early 70’s. I got into the love of the instrument through the Jazz Rock “Fusion” era and R&B/Funk years. I love the up right bass as well as the electric. I’ve listened and studied the sound of the major and minor good player. Without sounding like a “Jazz snob” , but just from a factual position the Jazz guys from a theory, technical and musical understanding level are far superior players especially as improvisers. Therefore I tend to give more credit to those serious types of players. They know chords, harmonics and scales etc as well arranging. Most of the top players such as Stanley Clarke, Jaco and Charles Mingus etc. played piano. Therefore harmonically they know the interrelationship of notes in order to produce great bass playing. Marcus Miller recently said a lot of guys are playing many notes, but it’s not connected to anything, because a lot guys don’t have the understanding of the notes.
m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ve37F3Ee9Ow.html This is a pretty fair candidate for best bass player ever. I mean it’s damn near a fact
This stuff is so tight .its insane..i saw mononeon and ghostnote this week, just absolutely mind boggling tight funk...love ittttttt!! I love the way the lady behind mono is feelin' the groove...")
His playing is stunning. You have to absorb what you're hearing. Clearly you guys are spectators as opposed to appreciators. Musicians are in awe. It's the kind of thing you shake your head about in wonder. LATER!!!!!
I thought the sock was aesthetic/used to modify the sound slightly. Like when people have a piece of cloth on the head of the guitar/bass. Im not super knowledgeable you can tell im diy lol
