What’s so crazy is that both of them are naturally right handed but both play left handed upside down. There’s nothing better than seeing two talented musicians come together
@@toadwerx6063 hah, as I had expected. your long words don't have any argument to the topic at all. Just you bragging about how cool you are. Again, you wrong. I'm right.
I'll never understand how these dudes play upside down so well. Especially on guitar with all the chord shapes. Mad skills

@Bread& Butter Bass strings on bottom actually aligns w/ the staff notation and our perception of going up the register and down. It's the normal way that's messed up where we go down to go up.
I'm sitting hear reading some of the responses about this clip, "too much delay", "he's overplaying", etc. Man, both of these guy's are playing their asses off. Dunlop is paying them to showcase their stuff and they are getting folks attention and making them sit up and take notice. Two excellent musicians sitting up having a musical conversation...Play on
I'll never understand why people try and shit on virtuoso musicians. Is it jealously? there's really only two people that watch these videos - guitar players listening, taking notes, looking for someone new or a new sound to help their own playing evolve - or haters saying that they prefer David Gilmour. I like both. Also, David Gilmour is playing at the top of his ability. If he could play faster he would, and then he would lose fans for "overplaying".
That’s because MonoNeon not only plays Bass, he plays piano, and played Bass in church and musically things can change at the drop of a hat and you have to listen and adjust. watch for subtle cues. He creates and writes compositions. I mean the music sheets, notes, breaks, repeats, rests, time signature, everything!! Besides, been playing since 4yrs old. His dad is a Bassist too. He learned listening to his dad , plus practicing playing from songs on records. Very talented young man.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EePvNHwj6rA.html. That’s a link to a video he posted almost 10 yrs ago he played piano on a song he composed as tribute to his Grandfather. It’s beautiful.
Hendrix would be beside himself to hear this jam. It went next level. The best jams may go astray at times and then reconnect in even better unexpected ways. Two guys going full on. The result is amazing
The thing that gets me the most is their ability to keep it tight, it's incredibly tight and considering all the fooling around they're doing, it's nothing less than a miracle that they're able to hold down the groove so well.
I realize I'm 2 years late on watching the video, but this ain't right. These 2 just played something that set my soul on fire. Now I'm up downloading the video so I can rip the audio, lay it down as a track, and then play my drums to it. I'm supposed to be sleeping!!!
He must have been Ambi-dextrous (strong in both Hands) cos if he'd been a total righty then he would have learned righthanded. I'm a lefty and tried to play righty but it was no good.
+Jonathan Barnes I was listening through my phone speakers but eventually plugged in my headphones and could hear him clearly. His sound is panned to the right too
You go to NAMM. You see these people jammin'. You see that there is a team of professionals filming the whole thing. You know that they will probably edit it with clear sound straight from their amps. You proceed to bust out YOUR FUCKING IPAD and film anyway.
Lol ur dumb delay is used so much in a lot of genres cuz when used right it makes ur music sound that much better but can be used wrong. Although I don’t use delay on my electric drums even tho it does have it lol but I should mess around with it more I kinda forgot it does so thanks lol. I can use it for making a couple hip hop beats sticking pattens are my delay drums are way different tho
Of all the upcoming crazy good musicians MonoNeon I think is the most promising in my book. He can shred but he only does it if it makes sense. So many musicians just chop to chop but seeing him play like this is so incredible. He just holds it down and can go with you and take you farther wherever you go. Wonderful playing by him I'm truly blessed to be able to hear it
Mannn Just love seeing musicians vibing off of eachother like this. The butter bass playing takes the guitarist in all shimmering delights, just a happy place to bathe and swim anywhere, Mono's bass playing takes you places.
Yeee I was scrolling through the commments to check out if some fellow bassist heard jaco as well. Yet another perfect example of learning from our past. Mononeon could be Jacobs colorful quilted upside down modern twisted son. Poor some gale in there and you’ve arrived at your ultimate basstination
You need to hear James' Band play this tune. ....THEY made it what it was......they're version was the reason Jaco covered it andi it was Much funkier than Jaco's version. ....and Jaco is one Of my BIGGEST influences as a player. ..love the guy. ...flaws and all but the mistake that most make when they play this tune is they play it way too straight and way too fast.
oh my...this level of playing. just incredible. both playing upside-down & left. unbelievable, both are truly listening to each other.. the syncopation @6:34 @7:10
Before discovering mono neon: “Hey man how’s the bass playing going” Me: not too bad man playing as much as I can After discovering mono neon: “Hey man how’s the bass playing going?” Me: Actually cross stitching has been taking up a lot of my time
That’s not a good thing. If everyone is playing that why would anyone still listen to it after 10000 times. Jazz is about fucking improvising and making new shit, not playing the same shit over and over and over and fucking over again. And i go to the comsrvatory of amsterdam where they play standards every day, but at least they adjust the songs and make own modern arrangements on it so it isn’t fucking boring. Sorry for the rant, just hate history repeating tooooo goddamn much. I’m all for learning from the old cats because it’s a really good way to learn though. Just do something different with it.
I gotta agree. Maybe because I'm listening in a phone without my earbuds...maybe the mix would be better had I worn earbuds. I wish I could hear the bass more. I'm a guitar player. Strike that! Takes is a guitar player! I am merely someone who plucks at at a guitar. As I was saying...I would like to be able to hear some of that badass upside down bass louder. Too bad it wasn't in a studio.
Eric Gales is one of the best guitarists on the face of the planet, period. He can just play exactly what he thinks with no hesitation, no getting lost. It's like his fingers are just spitting out brilliant music as fast as his brain can think it up. Not to mention how unique some of his chords and phrasing is, and Mono is equally as talented. These guys should play together more often.
