This is a very satisfying technique to begin exploring the use of chalk markers in a monoprinting technique or paint transfer method, use a ready made black primed canvas or you can use a spray paint or acrylic primer. Chalk markers are designed primarily for use on blackboards but I find you can use them in very creative artwork. Always finish with a varnish to protect the work and prevent smudges. Use water to erase or for paint effects.
Materials
Stretched canvas
Spray Paint (black acrylic)
Plastic sheet (use carrier bag)
Chalk Markers
Masking tape
Damp tissue/rag
Varnish to seal.
