I bought the vehicle used, so I don't know what the brand new factory ride was like, but I love these Monroe struts. Gave me a nice firm, athletic driving experience. Not harsh at all.
Are you going to do the front struts that may level it out and how have they performed? Seems like CRV would be way high in back vs front with weird stance. Had bad experience with bad shock from Monroe that squeaked inside and had to get replacement in different brand. Have you had any issues with those quickstruts, need to do my CRV?
No issues so far. Doing really well. I haven't noticed an issue with the stance. Seems like they have leveled out some. I'll do the fronts when they go bad. They are still doing well, so no need to replace.
Hello, it's definitely way may athletic and firm now. I bought the vehicle used with 93K miles, so I really don't know what original ride was like. I have 123K miles now. The original struts were very soft and bouncy before I replaced them. The ride now is comfortable and way more controled.
Nope, doesn't sag in the rear anymore. Driving experience is much more athletic now. The rear is tight now and doesn't roll as bad. The front struts are still good, so it feels great.
Is it possible to use a spring compressor to replace the strut without removing the control arm bolts and not lowering the control arm? after Honda did the rear subframe repair the bracket for the repair goes over the front bolt of the control arm requiring removing the entire recall repair bracket in order to lower the control arm.
I have personally had a pretty mixed experience with Monroe QuickStruts. Of course, good call on avoiding cheap CN parts. On a 2002 solara, it was pretty close to factory and a great improvement on the worn 18 year old oem parts. For the 2006 sienna, the Monroe QuickStruts were just plain awful. I owned the car from day 1 and knew the final height was wrong. I also felt speed bumps make terrible clunks as if a limiter or bump stop was absent. It was so bad I washed my hands of them and went with KYB (which is oem). It seems though that your honda may have got on pretty well with the Monroe QuickStruts you ordered. Any updates?
