Love you videos Sam. I’m in Australia at the moment but you’ve wetted my appetite for my visit to the Peak next week. My first school holiday was to Hartington at the youth hostel. Took my parents on one of the walks we did which was linear (hadn’t considered that at the age of 9 🤦‍♀️) and when we got to the end they said ‘where now’. I said ‘I don’t know, we got the school bus back). Around we turned and walked all the way back. Think it was about a 7 mile walk in the end at Dovedale. The Peak and the Lake District both have my heart.

Been to the Monsal Trail so many times and never knew about the Weir so thanks very much. Shame the Packhorse Inn was closed, it's a lovely pub and does amazing food. Thank you 😊

Love your RU-vid and Tiktok videos Sam. Did this circular yesterday and downloaded OSMaps from your link. Beautiful views ❤️. Nearly got scuppered by 7 cows waiting at the gate just after going over the bridge near the weir!! Only thing I'd say is that last incline before you got to the viaduct was far from easy for me (I'm a bit doddery but luckily had my poles)... Plus it was wet 😭. Overall a great day though so thank you 👍☺️

Were there cows along this route? Not sure my children would like that!

Nice video, thanks for sharing, came across you on social reels first, found you on here to subscribe. We've done the "Stepping stones" walk off Monsal Trail but will try this one and some of your others when we return to the peaks in August. Thanks for making the effort to share these. 👍

If you are after ideas, then the Dambusters Hike would be a great one. On a personal note, the thing I would like, if possible, is a link to a gpx for your hikes. Just an idea.

I love how informative the your videos are. This one looks like a great walk with our 10yr old who can currently tolerate 4-5 miles depending on the ease of it. We recently walked along Baslow edge, that was pretty steep. Iv subscribed and we will be giving this walk ago. Have you ever been to the Isle of Wight? It’s like being abroad ☺️

@@Samrculleyi think there are quite a few. We haven’t tried any yet but my dad lives there and we’re planning to find some coastal routes when we go in a few weeks especially if it’s not beach weather. I’ll have to let you know what we find. 🙂

Hi Sam. Found this via instagram. Do you think this route would be suitable for a kid in a buggy?
@pickman1uk
@pickman1uk 27 дней назад
Hi did Sam’s route last week unfortunately I think the first bit is a bit impassable to a buggy as it gets quite steep and narrow in places. If you could carry it for that section you would be fine that’s what I saw one couple doing

Funny how those phone booths stood empty for years but after CV19 saga they started fitting them with defibrillators. I think I know why. 💉💔 🤔
