Then some random player who didn't know this story would be like: "cheese? Oh god, shouldn't have bred this guacamolant with fish'n'chips looking corndog"
I agree that cross breeder X is too "radical" for the chill vibes of the game a 90s game named like that would have a shirtless dude with a space gun on the cover lol
I think a cool thing to have would be to have super super rare “mutations” that basically recreated those little bugs of where it had some monsters have more or less eyes than intended
Sorry, “Beast Socket” is WAY better than any of the other options. As a child I would buy Beast Socket 100%. Cross Breeder X sounds… like a creepy knock off lmao
I don’t really like the name “cross breader X” it sounds pretty generic to me. I do like “critter crosser” way more, though; it has a nice alliteration
I have to say, I love the freaks that come out from the "faulty" breeding. I think in a monster sim you should get abominations! Especially when crossbreeding between multiple species, I would keep the limbs and eyes if it was me.
There's a fine line between "interesting freaks" and "obvious glitches," and I'd say most of the bugs fixed this episode were the latter. The bug hybrids at the end seemed pretty freaky, though.
If you wanted to implement the third gender as an actual gameplay feature, I could imagine this being a rare mutation where the cheese monster loses the ability to breed directly, but gains the ability to interfere in the breeding of other monsters, resulting in a monster with far more mutations than average. In this way, cheese monsters could help you farm for rare traits that might otherwise be hard to get, but those desirable traits might also get tied up with a bunch of new undesirable ones.
Intersex lifeforms aren't sterile though. You're thinking of species mixing. Which, ironically, would make every child monster in this game sterile if it was realistic. There's no reason to make it so that any gender outside of male/female cannot have healthy offspring, pal.
Perhaps they could breed with both male and female monsters! But the cheese/third gender wouldn’t necessarily be passed away, only rarely appear as a random mutation
Critter Crosser sounds like a dope name, i like the alliteration and it just rolls off the tongue. Alternatively, I'd like to propose X-breeder (cuz you know X = cross)
critter crosser is perfect or maybe critter crossing could be good but a bit too close to animal crossing, or it it could be a fun nod because they are very different after all idk X breeder is way too dirty for my dirty mind I'm sorry
I feel Critter Crosser is a much better suggestion. When figuring out what "Cross Breeder X" could be about, there are a few very unsavory things coming to mind. "Cross Breed" to me (while I know it's used in mundane situations like talking about dog breeds etc.) just feels like a racist slur. Then "Breeder X" make me wonder if this is going to have a sexual element to it... Again, it's a first impression thing, and perhaps my impression is uncommon, but Critter Crosser seems to side step all of that and accomplish the goals you mentioned in the video.
what about something along the lines of “CROSSBEAST X” for the name? also, I love the dedication to making genuinely unique, crossbreedable monsters but think to really get attached to the species and monsters you create they also need unique characterisation - to not feel like every species and monster blend together or are too random and directionless. maybe giving them individual and/or species traits (like using certain techniques or tools and acting certain ways) or traits that have more staying power than others could be a way to achieve this? absolutely love your work!
we could call these traits genes And they could come in dominant and recessive varieties These genes could control aspects like colour, size or propensity for muscle growth etc. ;)
@@RujiKtheComatose Or just XBeasts, X can be read as cross, or ex, and an X implies the multiplication of the beasts. Feel like the arguments of whether is CrossBeasts or XBeasts is a very 90s thing too somehow.
CROSS X BREED With a stylized X between them. Using "BREED" instead of "BREEDER" gives you 5 letters on each side so it makes it easier for balancing your eventual title logo on screen. Plus you also get the the benefit of people arguing online on if the game should be pronounced "Cross X Breed" or if the X is silent and it should be "Cross Breed".
Gotta say “critter crosser” is pretty cute. This is awesome to discover, as a kid I dreamed of infinite unique monsters in a game. Something beyond a limited number of designs and personalities. It’d be cool if there was a way to make extra or weirder mutations. That six eyed critter was actually pretty cool too. Great work.
Could just make it an extremely low chance that the breeding algorithm ignores the locks on leg/eye/ear number. Make it something very special, and something for the neurotics who engage in hunting for visual rarities (shinies) In this case though you would have to find a way to make sure second-generation on monsters cannot bypass these locks with that chance. Otherwise you end up with a chance for an absolutely ridiculous number of body parts if people keep breeding for that bypass chance. But then again millipedes exist irl, so.
To add to this if you make such a bypass exclusive to first-generation pairs it would highly discourage inbreeding imo. and maybe making it so a selected pair can only produce this once. I think it would be great to be able to see your monster's lineage- not so great if you got it from a guy who just continually inbreeds because of some in-game mechanic that encourages it. I just think it's weird
I'm actually a huge fan of Critter Crosser. Cross Breeder X sounds a bit like a sequel and is a little long for a name. Totally loving these videos btw!! ❤️
Critter Crosser is the most catchy I think but people might confuse it with animal crossing. Maybe “Critter Crosser X” or “Critter Crossbreeder”? idk I’m also bad with names
@@Hugh_Jas Almost there! He should change "Creature" to "Animal" to make it sound more friendly. And then, to make it sound a bit more active and less sacrosanct, change "Cross" to "Crossing". "Animal Crossing"! Sounds perfect to me. Very old school, very Nintendo.
I just discovered this channel, and I can tell you, I have NEVER been this excited about a games art style before in my life. The art is so good I'm going to pre order this no matter what the game play looms like
Cheese Gender my beloved On a serious note, a third gender could be utilized in-game as special "universal breeders" that can produce offspring with any monster of any gender. "Cheese" could have a chance to crop up rarely in any monster but produce normal male/female offspring when bred even if both parents are cheesy (in the name of balance).
Yeah, the Dragon Quest Monsters series does something similar. Rather than genders, the monsters are either Positive +, Negative -, or Neutral +-. I want to say neutrals popped up about 10% of the time. It's always fun when you suddenly have a chance to mix with every monster you have rather than just the other half.
Every now and then i come across an obscure channel that contains rare jaw-dropping, priceless information ... essentially hidden gems. In keeping with that analogy, your channel is a flawless diamond. I've learnt a lot from your 4 videos. Your practical step-by-step-and-result approach to explaining stuff is the reason behind this. Thank you.
Absolutely love the system here. One thing that might be interesting could be to add a very small chance of a "special" mutation each generation that could make the offspring actually have a trait outside the bounds of either parental trait, like, for example, a child with one more pair of legs than the leggier parent. This wouldn't happen often but I feel like it could both increase the potential for unique monster combinations and give players the ability to select for a trait over generations to make it more and more extreme (until it reaches a cap probably, like 16 legs or whatever would stop the game from breaking). This breeding system is one of the coolest game mechanic implementations I've seen, though I'm concerned that monsters could wind up looking more and more "average" each generation if most traits are clamped within the values of the parents.
@@RujiKtheComatose A trick that I've learned for making rare procedural things that feel unique and special is to unexpectedly break the implicit rules that the "common" things establish; one of the ways I've been thinking of doing this is with "category violation" - putting something in an improper role. Like, as a toy example imagine you're digging through a bunch of procedural items and you find "a spherical wooden object", "a cubic metal object", "a flat paper object", and then you dig up "a spherical cubic object". You'll notice that a lot more than you would "a toroidal golden object", even if gold is a very rare material.
@@RujiKtheComatose you could keep the third gender and have the possibility of breeding 3 monsters together using the new gender, maybe gender X like the title
Critter Crosser or Cross Beasts sound good. I would also keep the third gender (breeds with all three) and the extra eyes and legs as rare mutations. Inverted colors also make nice rare mutation. Other things that could look neat would be eye stalks (antennas with eyes), large dextrous ears (based on wings - and functioning as such) and maybe tail clubs or thagomizers (stegosaurus spikes).
*The title could just be "X Breeder".* You're breeding multiple creatures, hence the all inclusive "X". "X" also stands for "Cross", as in "Cross Breeding". It's easier to say. And the best part is, the name is currently not copyrighted/trademarked.
Problem is "X-Breeder" immediately sounds like something VERY NSFW. If I saw that in a random list of steam games or something, I'd immediately assume it's an NSFW adult game.
I honestly really like the idea of a monster suddenly getting 6 eyes. I don’t know if that’s out of art style, but it would really give a whole “monster” or alien vibe even.
I'm gonna be honest, with a game that has so many weird creatures and features, *CHEESEGENDER* wouldnt be all that out of place, though perhaps itd be better as a sort of easteregg?
agreed, like some wild critter havign cheese gender and it can be also quite a visual MESS as a nod to other bugs. but ill say it as nul breeding unique find or just breed with any bonding. hell the cheese item could have a referances to this bug instead.
If you ever end up with some gender neutral/nongendered monsters (like gender unkown in Pokemon), how about a yellow triangle for an icon as a throwback to the cheese?
I really hope your still working on this game because it is one of the coolest ideas I’ve seen for a game in awhile. I love the style as well. I really hope this game ends up with a full release.
I only have 2 questions: 1. Why did this get into my recommended? 2. When can I play it? Like, damn this looks cool. Like the kind of game I'd want to make, compared to a new Fifa or Call of Duty. It's so damn unique and interesting. If you play your cards right, this game could be amazing and blow up. As someone who has seen games get abandoned and abandoned several game concepts myself, I know it may be difficult, but honestly, keep doing what you're doing. I simply cannot live in a world where a game concept this cool doesn't work out in the end.
Probably at least half a decade from formal 1.0 release, yeah. But even after nine years in development, surely, it'll have been worth the wait. I won't be over-hyping myself for its release, but when it gets to a playable stage, I'd throw money at it and play it to exhaustion in a matter of... well, who knows how long that'd take.
Honestly, a rare weird third gender that is compatible with male and females for breeding would be a fun addition. ALSO agree with some other comments on the name Crossbeasts. Also congrats on the near 15k subs. Just cound this channel and im interested to see how this game develops since these are my favorite types of games.
Nah. That would give the third gender more value over the other two for being compatible with both. Also, that would raise the question of “why don’t every creature have the third gender with the ability to breed with any?”-which would completely eliminate the gameplay mechanic of finding a specific gender of a creature in order to breed.
@@KenLinx i know it would be a game breaking mechanic, but i would still love if cheese was kept with a 10% chance of happening (low but not too low) when cross-breeding. Like, its a cool easter egg (or should i say cheesetersegg?) And the reasoning could be that due to mutations that happen when forcing a cross breed, the genetic code for biological sex gets shaken up and sometimes, it ends up as hermafrodite, and can breed with both sexes. And we could say that ingame, the sex is called cheese because of Doctor Ken Cheese, who discovered this weird genetic mutation ;)
"Chimera Quest"? 🤷♂️ Cross Breeder X sounds to me like a name for a monster breeding engine rather than a branded game. Is the entire game only about breeding? What about the adventure or fighting? Great work and thanks for sharing. I love how fluid the movement is combined with the pixel retro style.
As a recommendation for the title, I wouldn’t go with “Cross Breeder X”. Reason being, if you decide that you wish to produce a sequel, you’re going to have an “Xbox conundrum” on your hand in terms of sequel naming conventions. Also, it’s just kind of a long name. Also, and this is a stretch, it also gives it kind of sexual connotations with the combination of “Breeder” and “X” at the end (usually signifying something that is “X-rated”) I personally would recommend “X-Breed”, “X-Breeder” etc. Not only would sequels be simple to name (X-Breed 2, 3, etc.) but it also gives it the same sound you’re going for, shortens the name and makes it stand out, and “X” also signifies “Cross” (thus why there are “X-ing” signs on the freeway)
i did think of the breeder and X in the title problem not to rat on myself to much but ive seen some similar title on _p_ orn games its not super bad also if you want to make those scumbad ads thst pretend to be porn games ive seen a ad on youtube for a hustler kingdom or something kingdom and it implied that the goal of the game was running your own prositution ring i was watching A HOI 4 youtuber too nothing spicy needless to say i didnt click on it i never click on an ad it would just show you more if it figures out what works on you i also saw a similar ad on kids fish game that. i had on my phone for my niece i went to report it because porn game advertising to children but when i got the page it was just enother grindy kingdom builder like those facebook games that used to be popular
nonono, it's not a stretch, crossbreeder X definitely gives it unnecessary sexual connotations. Honestly I don't think the Name is really anything he wanted the name to be in the first place and it just sounds extremely unmarkatble and very unprofessional.
The style of the game is so charming and cute! Critter Crosser is probably my favorite of all the names, rolls off the tongue and the alliteration tickles my brain in a good way.
I dreamed about a game with true procedural breeding in it for twenty years, for real. And i see how this is finally becomin a reality thanks to your work! Thank you, this is awesome!
Jeez, going from almost 3k to 90k+ in half a year without a single upload in that span of time, I'm glad to see it!! I'm hoping this helps get more eyes on this project, it's wildly inventive and inspiring to see the way you've gone about it, and I'm far too eager to see the final product!!! ^U^
This is genuinely the coolest thing I have ever seen, you can not possibly comprehend how much I adore this, I now know I will never experience true, lasting joy until I can play this game
Ahh yes my favorite gender: swiss cheese. This is super cool though! Your videos inspired me to try some procedural 3-d modeling and wow it is so hard to make things look natural. These cross breeds look really good!
Clearly Swiss Cheese is Dr Sam Beckett's gender. Jokes aside though yeah, this does look super cool! (Though I do, jokes aside, find myself liking the idea of a low chance of a third gender popping up in there, given that intersex births are a real- but rare- thing IRL).
I feel like having a mutation chance for extra eyes or legs (or lack thereof) on a monster if you really want that would be a nice thing to add additionally, there could be some special item you could use on a monster to give their offspring an increased mutation chance
This is my first thought, too. There should be at least some chance of crazy outcomes, it's much more interesting/fun, especially with the awesome procedural generation.
Subbed immediately. You're creating what everyone wants, but big developers are seemingly too lazy to make. We will watch your career with great interest
Overjoyed to see you pop up in a notification. I love the concepts you're going for in this game. I grew up on Sonic Adventure 2's Chao garden, and I got a lot of inspiration from the procedural evolution you did in previous videos for my own personal project. Cheers
Cool idea. Although I kinda like the name "beast socket" more. It has WAY more punch to it. Also I don't think you should be afraid of ending up with monsters with just a crazy amount of limbs/eyes/etc. In fact I think people would enjoy more and more extreme monsters coming out, rather than just an average between the parents.
The breeding system adding and subtracting eyes and legs was actually really cool! Maybe you could add them as mutations? Probably want to keep them capped somehow though also the new name kinda sounds like a nsfw game lol
Fittingly, dragon quest monsters games have a rare third polarity that lets you breed the monster with anything. You could bring the cheese back if you really wanted.
I feel like it’d be interesting if instead of the range of numbers of legs being between the numbers of both parents, you made it be between lower number-2 and higher number+2, so that players could selectively breed creatures to have more or fewer limbs than past generations, but only with an extremely small chance each time they do breeding
He's back!! While the point of the game is the crossbreeding, a big part of the game's personality to me is the colorful graphics and peaceful arcadey feeling there is to it. (I like names like "Earthbound" / "Cave Story" etc.) Therefore, I personally prefer "Beast Acre" or "Critter Crosser"
Critter Crosser is golden, absolutely. While 90s nostalgia is a wonderful thing, 'crossbreeder X' and 'beast socket' are a little bit too on the edgelordy side of things to not get made fun of. Honestly they sound a little too much like h-games, beyond that.
Wouldn’t “X-Breeder” make more sense? After all an X is a cross. Seems like it could be a fun in-joke people can wink at ;). Also the x can be the algebraic form, where it is a stands in for any input value, kinda like your code generating new values from inputs. Also X-Breeders is short and snappy branding leaving room for a fun follow up like “X-Breeders: Revenge of the n-Droids” or “X-Breeders: integer-mentional” I don’t know. Loving this fun concept and interested to see where it goes
I'll be real, I think Beast Socket is a much better and unique name than Cross Breeder X Crazy good work though! Looking forward to seeing how this goes in the future!
Thanks, after hearing a bunch of comments I'm starting to think so too. I may switch it around to "Socket Beast" though, just because it's easier to say out loud.
@@RujiKtheComatose If you want campy 90s and 00s naming, Beast Socket honestly hits the nail on the head. Especially that considering any two nouns, the prefixed one counts as an adjective; therefore, socket beast as the title makes the game seem centered around a singular monster who can be upgraded with sockets, while beast socket implies some form of "socket" device (in your case, breeding) that affects beasts
I just randomly came across this, and let me say, I've been dreaming for the same thing since about the same time! I guess my passion wasn't as strong as yours (got diluted with RPGs, strategy games, evolution simulators, avionics, etc), but this looks awesome! Keep it up!
Would love to see some minor chance here and there of things where the "mixing" does kinda work like the bugs you fixed. 8 legs vs 4 legs becoming 12 is strange, but possibly becoming 4,6,8, or 10 would be very interesting. And that creature where the back half was still the snake would also add some interesting variety as a rare chance. Probably hard to code, but having some distinctly unique looking creatures who then would also be very enticing to breed with is a cool concept. Only taking the average of features over and over might lead to late-generation creatures ending up kinda same-y.
This seems really promising. Have you considered assigning favorable qualities to certain mutations while others, being more common, are less desirable? For example: horns have a higher attack but are less likely to spawn on offspring. I think this would make the entire mechanic much more rewarding beyond the aesthetics. Just a thought!
I... i want to play this. Most of the time when i see a devlog on youtube, i just think "damn thats creative" or "this mustve been so much work", and most of the games look nice, but theyre never something where id say "i'm gonna play that once it comes out" but this one - i grew up with pokemon, digimon world, dinosaur king, dragon quest monsters.. all these monster collecting games, and i went on to even win nationals in pokemons case - i love this genre, and i wanted a game where you could actually create completely new monsters by breeding - the closest thing i ever found was dragon quest monsters, but same problem as you had, its pre-existing monsters - and they overlap. I'm really looking forward to future devlogs, you won yourself a new subscriber ^^
Well, I'm glad this randomly popped into my Twitter feed I freaking love monster designs and I love creating hybrids of creatures such as pokefusions. This idea of a truly randomized and procedurally generated monster breeding game is so cool I'll have to keep an eye out for this game when it comes out in the future
Yes! He should maybe add it back in or make it an option or perhaps have a category of creature that might increase the odds of creating a monstrosity or abomination.
The best way to handle this would probably be to add a small chance of getting a really weird mutation when breeding. Then some offspring would be weird and monstrous, but you could still expect a bear/octopus hybrid to only have bear and octopus traits.
I’ve been following this project since around the beginning of 2022, and it’s quite impressive honestly, good to see you’re still at it after an entire year. male ants don’t have stingers and have wings, it would also be pretty nice to have more arthropods and especially more mollusks (maybe some crabs and pillbugs alongside more flying insects, mollusks such as snails and octopus, worms would be extremely easy to add as well, perhaps even a few plants though that might be quite strange).
Dear lord, this is exactly my dream, right down to it being inspired by Dragon Warrior Monsters! My favorite part of that game was always breeding two monsters together and trying to see what I'd get. It didn't take long before I was disappointed for the same reasons you were, though. This project looks amazing and I can't wait to see more!
This looks fantastic! One thing that might be interesting is for random mutations unrelated to either of the parents to potentially pop up, like rare colors or different body parts. Nothing that feels like outlandish compared to their parents, but something like a tail fin/spike coming out of no where or the coloration gaining a sort of metallic sheen, and these rare mutations making those crossbreeds something akin to shiny pokemon
I do want the game, but man I just want an update to know you're doing good and to see (even just) a little progression on this gorgeous idea and execution!
that was always a limitation that bothered me in games, though I understand now why there couldn't be infinite variations of monsters in the GBA/DS era lmao. to see this mechanic finally being taken to its full potential is REALLY exciting!!
Oh this looks so cool! Glad I stumbled here! Gotta say that having a crazy amount of eyes or legs doesn't sound so bad for a monster. I'd be thrilled to get one very weird baby with a small chance. Also Critter Crosser sounds wonderful and very fitting! But ofc you do you, man!
a nice system if there were to be an ingame currency would be that the more random mutations and un-normal features a creature has the rarer the quality, common for nothing special, uncommon for one mutation, rare for a few, super rare for a creature with tons of mutations and that would keep going, the rarer the creatures the more you could sell the creature for!
Im gonna be that one saying that I like "Beast Socket" as a name. I found it somehow cozzy and artisticly fitting. But Ive never been good at naming things so... keep the hard work Riujk 🐉
The cheese gender could be the "mule" from donkey and a horse preventing the 3rd generation while cheese gender could get higher stats as a result for more strategy
This so cool! I actually wanted to do something almost exactly like this years ago, but I had literally no idea how to do it. I'm so glad someone had the same idea but actually knows how to do it! Looking forward to seeing more updates!
I'm really happy I saw this. I remember ordering the Pokemon 10th anniversary breeding guide as a kid because I hadn't played a pokemon game before and thought breeding would be like this. I spent hours looking at breeding combos and egg abilities. And then they dropped the bomb that the kid was just one of the parents. This mechanic is everything I've wanted in a monoster collection game! I can't wait to follow your dev journey here! Your monsters are quite charming :)
This is really fascinating I love the Swiss Cheese Gender, classic off by 1 because 0 is a number case I've made many times. Although none were as funny of an outcome as this one
the pixel art, animation, environments, and the creativity on this project is leagues above other projects of this scale. please keep going and finish this thing it's really looking amazing :)
1:55 In this part, you are talking indirectly about HOX genes. Basically, these genes define where goes our parts of the body. And there are curious experiments wih flys where they put legs in the head XD Leaving genetics aside, your work looks pretty cool :D
I love this project and cannot wait to see more. This is 10 year old me's dream game. Keep the third gender! There are non-binary breeding systems all over the animal kingdom and it creates a level of complexity and biological interest over and above a stock-standard breeding game. Not a big fan of the new name. Is crossbreeding the main goal of the game? What was it before you explored crossbreeding mechanics in this dev cycle? Is it collecting, battling, hunting? Cross Beasts (cooler) & Critter Crosser (cuter) are great alternatives. Congratulations on your HUGE subscriber increase! I'm truly awed by the procedural creature system. Can't wait to buy the game.
Hey man, just leaving you this comment to let you know that I hope you're doing well! I really enjoy this video series and come back to it every now and then just because it's so fun to watch, you really did a great job with the presentation. I'll be patiently awaiting the next Devlog video, whenever that's gonna be. And if there's not gonna be another video then that's ok, too. I just hope you're doing well with whatever you've got going on right now. I don't expect any kind of response, I just hope you read this and smile a bit cause some random stranger form the internet left a nice little message. Best wishes for the rest of this year and the next one to come!
Honestly though keeping the Swiss cheese gender is pretty funny and might be a cool mechanic, every other game with breeding just has male + female. Also Beast Socket is a way better name. "breeder" is a weird word in general.
This reminds me of "Jade Cocoon: Story of the Tamamayu", which I really loved as a kid. I always wanted to make a similar game but ended up in web dev so I'm kind of jealous of you now :P Your game looks great though. Keep up the good work and I'm sure I'll enjoy playing it! :)
Well web dev is ur day job that pays the bills, like a lot of people who make games or watch these videos. Im in ux/ui and frontend dev for many years. Doesnt mean you cant make games on the side.
How do you guys do with sidegig after work? How do you manage the hours? Genuinely curious because I was in UI/UX too but often gets too tired after work
@@XaliberDeathlock yeh im the same. Most of my hobbies/sidework fizzle out when i work fulltime because im tired too and just want to chill. Now i have young kids it not possible. Up to you if its worth it, most new indie devs work normal jobs and sidehustle until they git success
@@XaliberDeathlock I hear this a lot but I'm never really tired after work. Maybe there's a way to manage your energy to help you have juice left in the tank at the end of the day? Also, I hear a lot of productivity people talk about doing the things you want to do earlier in the morning, before work - maybe that could help?
I absolutely loved Dragon Warrior Monsters as a child for its cross-breeding system. This looks absolutely amazing and right up my alley! Thank you to the algorithm for sending me here, this looks so cool!
adding no gender and/or neutral gender could be a cool unique trait for certain monsters. Maybe like in pokemon, ‘legendaries’ could have no gender and not breed, and the neutral ones could be like ditto and breed with any other
@@halcyonacoustic7366 that was my first thought but then that would be that interesting gameplay wise? like “hey cool now i have 2 of the same thing… oh wow 4… oh god 8,16,32…”
Free ideas cause your work deserves a good name: > Chimeric X > Beast Morphs > Splice Simulator > Cryptic Taxon > Species Uncharted > Monster Mash Or any combination of the first and second word. Other good ones (Beast Taxon, Monster X, etc..) Great content!!!! Please keep the project going! ps: Also I kinda like the idea of a weird rare third gender. Just make them more colorful lol.
This is an awesome concept! I hope you keep working on it, I was bummed out looking at your channel and not being able to binge watch your videos for hours
The breeding reminds me of the old Petz games, particularly the bugs remind me of when modders would wildly deviate from the normal body shape to create custom animals like horses or rabbits, which when bred created terrifying elongated messes of creatures lol Keep up the good work! Will be looking for this on release
Cross Breeder X could even be called X Breeder since in Japan X is often pronounced as Cross. Great vid though glad you managed to come out of your Comatose for another banger~
I can't believe that DWM is your inspiration for true procedural breeding, I clearly remember the same disappointment when I realised the limit to the breeding in that game. I am a little stunned how similar your "origin story" is to how I feel about this subject and I am so happy that I have found your channel. This concept is very dear to my heart and truly fascinates me.
