Ethan Yang He’ll most likely be in Iceborne, in fact may be the next monster revealed after Brachydios. If you look at the recent trailer with Fulgur Anjanath all the elements are there. That and I believe every monster on the 15th anniversary poster will be in Iceborne including Valstrax with how things have been releasing and revealed/teased.
It has such an intricate moveset that it is as if it's fighting with a martial art and not just instinctual attacks. And that stare-down it does towards the hunter makes it feels like it's a duel rather than a hunt.
IF Zinogre does come to MHW, I hope the thunder wolf uses its thunder-bugs to track the hunter like scout-files (just like it was shown in NCH's MHW animation).

My favorite thing about Zinogre is how explainable and believable he is. As outlandish as his design is, he makes perfect sense as an animal that could evolve in our world, given the right conditions.
Ok Zinogre is hands down my favourite monster in the series. I like fighting him so much that sometimes I actively let/help him charge up electricity so we can have a nice anime brawl
I also love how we tilts his head sometimes like he's saying "oh not this shit again". I could literally gush forever on the smallest things with him and his equipment.
Sad story: Because Amatsu occupied Zinogre's mountain, Zinogre had to move his territory beside the village. Unexpectedly he causes panic between villagers and villager hire a hunter to slay it😔

The audio you always had never was bad. I´ve noticed the audio change but thats because I work as a music producer, and not that it ´´Improved´´. Don´t get me wrong, the audio is better, but it was always great before!
This guy. A lot of my devices has his face on it. Matter of fact, I imagined of a thunder wolf years ago in Primary School, and back when Tigrex was the main talk of hunters, I was already thinking how nice it'd be if I could give this idea. THEN HE EXISTS. And my mind was imploding with *JOY.*
I had a similar reaction the first time I tried Charge Blade. It felt so oddly like something I'd imagined myself in highschool, even though my doodles at the time were nothing like what the MH team produced ... (I basically imagined a shield but with a sword- or lance-like blade on the bottom and axe-liked edges on the top corners, allowing it to be wielded in a variety of ways; now compare the Charge Blade where you literally stick the sword _in_ the shield to form a battleaxe with the shield as its head.)
the fact that he's one of the few monsters that is snobby af. every monster roars at you as they consider you a threat. While zinogre just rolls his head like hes tired of killing you guys.
His music is one of the greatest rock-orchestra pieces I have even had the pleasure of hearing. In MH3U when I first fought him, he did his attack where he plants one foot on the ground and does a big tail whip. I dodged right through it, and though I know now I was just taking advantage of the I-frames, it looked like my hunter had JUST shot the gap between his tail and the ground. Then, in the same hunt (Moga Woods BTW) in the area with the stream and waterfall. Right in front of the waterfall, I went for a spirit combo just as he sprinted at me. The second before his hitbox contacted me, I pulled off the last hit of the spirit combo and flew right past him, killing him. I would KILL to have been able to record things like that back then.
The fact that Zinogre is so calm when he first encounters you is so cool. He’s so confident that he doesnt even roar. He just cracks his neck and does that badass walk.
Some more details on the symbiosis between thunder bugs and Zinogre. Thunder bugs usually generate electricity to protect themselves, but their natural predator, Gargwa, has beaks that are non-conductors. Hence Gargwa feeds on thunder bugs. Gargwa’s natural predator is Zinogre, hence the protection. This part about the ecology of Zinogre can be read in the info of him in MHP3rd which Zinogre is the flagship(at least that’s where I learned about this).
I absolutely adore the flow of a Zinogre fight. It's fast paced and tense, more so than most other monsters, yet doesn't feel forced. All of its attacks are fair yet punishing, and don't even get me STARTED on how satisfying it is to beat it. It's one of the monsters that made me start to love the series. The only bad thing is... *shivers* Apex
He actually doesn't roar AT ALL unless fully charged. (The howling he does while charging bugs don't count as a roar, at least not one that needs Earplugs.)
Zinogre invades quest for the first time Sees the cutscene and its size.... Going head first while being under armored... First time fighting monster with such a fast move set and power... Gets owned... such a memorable time

My favorite part about Zinogre is the fact that not only does he look badass and fight like a badass but the music is the most hype music I've ever heard in the series and really enhances the fight.
"The perfect doggy to complement the kitty that is Nargacuga." The best thing i heard today. He is one of the most memorable monsters. He screams unique, from his theme song, the way he moves and attack. He is such a powerhouse some times. I remember a few times wen he carted me by spamming attacks.
Zinogre is my favorite monster just by how amazing he looks, I mean he is the most metal looking monster I have ever seen. I can do and obtain so many cool things with this monster, for example: -badass armor✅ -Has the best thunder weapons ✅ -he has one of the most unique themes in the entire game series (and it's so good😩👌) ✅ -hunting him is exhilarating and challenging ✅ And the list goes on, but the point here still stands, we want him to appear in iceborne, people will go wild just by listening to either the roar/howl or just a taste of his amazing theme song
AWOOO! It feels like you haven't done one of these in forever. I am forever mad that thunder lord Zinoger in MHgu does not have the traditional Zinoger theme. But just the regular old deviant variant song.
My favorite thing for Zinogre has got to be its attacks all have such a dynamic impact on the fight once its powered up like its claw slams, each slam leading up to the final one looks so impactful and devastating. Please bring him to world!
I remember when me and my best friend decided to try fighting Zinogre for the first time. The first hunt went so well, and we felt like we were confident enough to jump right back in and catch it again (having both been excited to start working on its gear). This second hunt did not go so well. Not only did we learn of its immunity to shock traps after it powers up, but the beastie was far more aggressively maintaining its charge. Needless to say; we quickly learned to respect the big doggo.
My favorite part of Zinogre is how well tuned the fight is. His moveset, the pace of his attacks, the hitboxes... All of it comes together for a really fun, clean fight. This is turned up to 11 in his Stygian variant, since now he does enough damage to actually be a threat. Zinogre is my favorite monster by far, I even have a figurine of him (specifically a Stygian one). Also his theme is badass.
Adding Zinogre and Stygian Zinogre would be very cool... They are the masters of Latent Power and Peak Performance! Plus, they has a unique synergy with shock traps, the regular will charge electricity out of the shock trap and the other one are very effected by shock trap in rage mode. And of course, it's the only monster that it's normal species gear is countering it's subspecies... Stygian is weak to thunder and Normal Zinogre armor has good dragon resistance. They will add a lot of uniqueness to iceborne if they make it there
One of my favorite monsters of the entire series. What I like the most about Zinogre is his agility, power, and aggression. He fights like a Mexican luchador on PCP. Flips, bodyslams, haymakers. And that howl he does when he charges up. Such a cool monster. No matter how many stars a Zinogre quest has, you can’t ever be complacent against him, or he will wreck you. And EX Thunderlord Zinogre was one of the hardest, most intense fights in MHGU. His theme song is a banger, his design is wicked, and I really hope to see him in Iceborne.
My all time favorite monster. Design is simply amazing. Not only that, unlike many monsters, Zinogre has attitude. When you meet him, he cracks his neck as if he's your rival saying "Let's do this, little man".
I loved hunting Zinogre. So much so, when I played the game after a few years have passed, I felt a sense of overwhelming nostalgia. And before I knew it, I was actually crying a little bit from how much I missed my lightning wolf.
zinogre was basically my teacher in monster hunter. i initially hunted him because his armor looked cool, but his telegraphs and patterns pushed me to always keep my positioning in mind while hunting. i really hope i get to see my teacher in the new world, it’s been too long since the last spar.
My favourite thing about Jinouga is how powerful it feels. The way it walks towards you, sizing you up and the movements it makes gives this sense of great confidence. Unlike Tigrex, who I also love very much, Jinouga feels checked, controlled. It has power and it knows how to use it properly. My favourite memory of Jinouga is actually kinda bs. I was hunting with a friend and Jinouga stopped, turned and ran to the next area, the music not playing. So we sheathed our weapons and chased it, but it suddenly backflipped and crushed me, resulting in a cart. It was a weird moment, but also a really funny one. I still think it's a bug or glitch, but I thought it was a really cool idea for Jinouga to bait hunters by pretending to escape before crushing them with a body slam.
My favorite boss in the series. From his design and behavior (I swear, it looks like he cracks his neck while looking down on you before starting the fight when you encounter him) to his rocking music (my favorite theme as well), the guy just looks and sounds like a literal boss. His dog-like antics are a hoot as well liked the aerial flip where he shows his belly haha.
Zinogre holds a special place in my heart because it was the first monster I've ever saw from the series. I was friends with a japanese student at my school and he played the game on his PSP. I look over his should and see zinogre and I am immediately hyped. He told me the game is only in japanese and there wont be an english one so I was pretty bummed. But then after finding out mhgen was coming to America. I bought a new ds and the game and thus started my hunting career. Since then with the help of world I got some of my friends into the series. Now i really hope zinogre can make it so i can show them my favorite monster that started it all for me.
I adore Zinogre. In a game drenched in lizards, it's nice to see something with more of a mammalian design. Not to mention, the fight is just real fun and challenging in a good way. I remember being roped into a zingore hunt WAAAY before I should have fought it back in 4U (while trying out the light bowgun, no less) and that was my first impression of it. So when we got absolutely destroyed, that had one hell of an impact, and so when I got to it in 4U's story, it felt incredible to be able to keep up with and ultimately topple it. And that's why he to this day remains a favourite of mine. also I can't not find it funny how zinogre debuted in a game that came out but a few months after the debut of MonHun's first major "clone", so to speak, God Eater, whose flagship was also a large mammal with honestly pretty similar thunder powers, Vajra. Only that's a cat, and Zinogre's a dog. And it's not like it's plagiarism in any way either, GE came out earlier in the year yet I highly doubt either design was copied as both were developed pretty much simultaneously. It's a really funny coincidence to me.
my favorite thing about zinogre is its theming when it comes to armor and weapon stuff. I forget exactly what it says, but they got names like 'usurper' that reflect that Zinogre is really trying to challenge the current flying-wyvern-centric top of the food chain. Its elements reflect this too: lightning is a really good counter to Rathalos, the "king of the skies", and Dragon element is even better as well as being the weakness of a lot of the Dragon-like elder dragons too. It gives off this feeling of ambition, wanting to dethrone the current masters of the monster world while being distinct from Nergigante's "gonna eat all the elders" thing it's got going on.
Zinogre is the best boi. Strong but not slow, Agile but not frail, Swift like the lightning arcing off him, Fierce with a proud nobility to him. He is a joy and a challenge to fight (depending on skill and experience with him), and the armor and weapons are all very cool. You can tell that a lot of care and detail was put into him REALLY making a lasting impression on people, and that's probably what makes me love him the most.
never have i clicked a video so fast on my feed. i started with mh4u and when i first saw zinny, i thought “this, this is the monster i want to fight for a long time”. so much hope for it to appear in world
He's been a favorite of mine since his intro in 3U. I mean he's a giant acrobatic lighting wolfbeast, armored to the teeth and way faster than you are. What's not to love? If he doesn't end up in world at some point, I'll be seriously disappointed, to me he's just as much a staple as Rathalos now.
Culturally speaking, I love how the MHP3rd team actually made Zinogre incarnate the concept of raiju Raijū, which is the dog companion of the japanese thunder god, Raijin. Also worth noting a couple details of this monster's equipment. The deviant armor really resembles the ogre-look of Raijin, and both its deviant lance and the normal one have on their shield the S symbol for thunder, and the manji for the deviant one. Zinogre fights are always just straight anime battles. I remember after smacking me around thinderlord just started slowly walking in a circle around me looking down on me for a good second. I cant explain why but it was hella intimidating
I absolutely LOVE Zinogre! I entered the franchise in it´s 3rd generation and played all of the games, and ZInogre is by far one of my favorite hunts, along side Lagiacrus and Brachydios when I was new in MH3U. What I love the most about Zin and several other monsters, is that feeling of fighting your nemesis, you hit, and it will hit back, hard! I love how Zin is fast pace and punishes those who can´t keep up, fights like these are what I love the most about the franchise, pure love and adrenaline!
Zinogre's easily in my top 3. If we were looking at his design and his unique creature function alone, he'd probably my favourite monster overall. It’s the epitome of why I love this series’ designs, it takes something outlandish like a thunder wolf, an exploding dinosaur, a necromancing dragon, and brings them down to earth in a unique, interesting and semi-believable way. Here's hoping he makes it into Iceborne, I think he'd fit great in the Coral Highlands. I'd love to see him turf war with Legiana, I feel that could be one of the great Monster Hunter ying-yang matchups like Rathalos vs Lagiacrus.
Meeting Zinogre for the first time in MH4U and hearing that absolutely pumping music while simultaneously scrambling like a madman trying to evade its aggression. That was a memorable hunt. Breaking off its tail is always a small victory in itself!
Remember that cinematic where streaks of red lightning is on the sky and Zinogre is there howling at it and charging up. Man that was a total badass cinematic!
Zinogre is my favourite monster in the games besides White Fatalis, so he's pretty special to me. My favourite part about him is definitely how his theme perfectly conveys the fast and powerful moves that he uses. Plus he just looks friggin awesome

My favorite thing about zinogre is just how he functions differently than pretty much every other monster, he has big wind ups and hits hard, meaning skilled play is more rewarded. yet he also has a grace to his movement contrary to the pure brutality of another monster, ex: tigrex. He's definitly in my top 3/4 monsters, would LOVE to see him show up in ultimate (shh, i can dream) only one i'd like to see more is Gore Magala
Zinogre was my first high rank fight ever, and I thought it was HUGE. I thought all higher ranked monsters were like that, but on finishing, it turned out to be a gold crown. So that was pretty cool. :P
Zinogre is my favorite monster in general because not only is it a wolf but the fight with it is the most memorable out of all the monsters along with its amazing theme along with it constantly on the attack and giving you a fun challenge the whole fight itself
5:45 yeah, probably the first time they did an Unexpected *WARNING* in a quest, BGM changes to a mysterious/scary tone and terrifies you. It can almost gave me a heart attack. Can't forget that feeling. And I love the theme music my fav in the series.

In my first encounter with Zinogre in 3U, i was with 2 friends and we were in area 9 of deserted island. We all left the area because 2 of us were badly injured and the other was using light bowgun and was trying to line us up to use recovery rounds, but the Zinogre followed us into the area and immediately did the back body slam move and carted both of us at once, failing the quest. That hilarious experience in addition to his color scheme, battle theme, electric element, and the really interesting symbiosis with thunderbugs is why Zinogre is my favorite monster in the series.
Wow, I forgot that key monsters used to invade seemingly harmless gathering/small monster quests. During the Jinouga quest, it felt real creepy to not go back home after the mission complete only to find yourself face to face with the elusive Jinouga in the middle of the night.
Definitely my #1 favorite monster, and most memorable hunt. I got into MH in 4 Ultimate, so the first hunt was a good ways into the first half of the story. So as I’m playing and the npcs are talking about it, I was thinking, “this thing sounds super cool”. So then I go to accept the quest and while I’m looking at his icon I’m thinking, “yeah, this one is gonna be fun”. So I go on the quest and the intro starts. I see him, and I’m like, “this thing is awesome!” Then he breaks the rock after chasing me at which point I’m thinking, “I’m gonna die a horrible brutal death...” then I hear the theme and that roar... and instantly this awesome suspense and tension grows as I start to fly around him trying to mount and primarily not die. Lol (yes, I main IG) much too my surprise I didn’t kart once, but the tension that was there at the start of the fight stayed there the whole hunt, and when I finished the hunt I had my first, “I actually really love this game” moment. Yes gore magala was another, “I love this game” moment, but not as much as Zinogre. His hunt just had this feeling to it. Can’t wait to get to him in iceborne! He looks incredible, so excited to hunt him again!
My favorite thing about Zinogre is, sometime it just gonna walking while staring at you, looking as if you're just an unsignificant creature. That is so BADASS.
Nice video ! The one thing I would I would have like you to add is Zinogore variants. Stygian Zinogore is a beast ! While Zinogore wasn't a hard fight the first time I fought him, Stygian Zinogore kicked my butt and I was like "Wow is so coooool, he makes explosions and has a red/black vibe !".
Zinogre stands as my second favourite, and god I love it. First playing 4 Ultimate I just knew a handful, being Nargacuga, Rathalos, Rathian, the Jaggi family, and vaguely about Gore Magala. When I reached Zinogre in the main story, it was the first one I ever purposefully loved grinding an armour set from. Loved his theme, his design, just about every thing. Thus ended the days of my Khezu armour set in that game.
It's Theme is amazing and subspecies are awesome but during combat the fact that it can charge up several times and becomes so much bulkier as well is just epic.
These are great man. Hope you keep doing them. I bought the 1st MH on release day and it was one of my favorite games of all time. I really enjoyed the ecology videos. However, I never played portable games and missed out on all the cool monsters between the 1st MH and MHW so these vids are really cool for me. Thanks for posting them!
MHP3rd was where I met Zinogre, I knew I was going to run in to him eventually because of the opening, but when I finally did, ohh boy, that was a fun fight. I also remember running around breaking the enviroment with my gunlance.
Dun DAH! Dun dun dun dun dun dun. Dun DAH! Dun dun dun dun dun dun! There's not that many Lupine/Canine monsters out there, so it's quite nice that Zinogre is so iconic for being one of the few that exist! I remember when I first encountered it in MHXX, I was both literally and figuratively blown away. The electric rock music really suits the big guy, and his howls, while majestic, also properly give me chills, because that means he's charging up for an all-out assault soon...! I really like how this big bad wolf sort of has this back and forth of the odds being in and against your favor through the hunt. When he's fully charged, my defensive strategies and waiting to exploit an opening for a heavy attack fall apart and he swings me around like a chew toy, especially with those "punch" attacks he does. Sends me flying into a wall, and even with my guard up it still can tear me apart. Hearing the little yelp he does when he gets toppled and loses his charge is a perfect sign that it's finally time to turn the tables on the brute. I've always loved MonHun for how the hunts can be a real rollercoaster of victory and defeat, as both you and this beast are fighting as hard as they can for survival. Ol' Zinny here is one of the best cases of this, which is why I really love this monster. He's noble, majestic, and when he's powered up he's relentless. But knock the bugs out of his fur, and he pulls back and goes on the defensive with what energy he still has.
Zinogre checks out all the boxes for me; he's bad ass, he has a challenging fight that is not bs, his armor is awesome,his weapons are awesome, his biology is so good, and he is the flagship of my first monster hunter game.
I remember when I first saw Zinogre in 4U. Watching it destroy part of the landscape to get to you really made me want to fight it. Been my favorite ever since
He's amazing and I want him someday in fucking Super Smash Bros the most for every reason already listed and more. He literally already has his own theme, full moveset, mascot power between old and new Monster Hunter fans, gimmick in charging up with Fulgurbugs like Arsene, simple design for physics and control and the pure selling hook of being an actual playable monster and not just another human holding a bladed weapon. With Japanese phenomena over this series and being a beefy literal lightning wolf that beats the shit out of you to electric guitar for even Americans who only vaguely know about Rathalos or Lagiacrus, there's no room to complain. Ridley and Piranha Plant all have made this possible in any way and have both shown nothing could prevent Zinogre in terms of character and subsequently gameplay. Make it happen. Zinogre Gives the Hunt a Shock.
Man I only fought him in world and the fight is so epic with the quick moves and the rock based battle music. Especially during an intense hunt with the hammer and barely dodging multiple attacks at once then knocking it out with the uppercut. Damn I get goosebumps just thinking of it.
I first saw Zinogre in Iceborne and he instantly became my number 1 absolutely favourite monster in all of MH. In fact, the main reason I grinded to MR 100 wasn't to get better weapons/armour, it was to get the Stygian Zinogre layered armour. I love this beast and everything about him is perfect
I haven't really heard or played much if the games but I first discovered this whole amazing series of games thanks to GaMetal doing a remix of zinogre's theme, since then, I fell in love with the thing.
The best thing about zinogre for me is how fluid the battle can be, with his fast animations and stylish attacks when enraged it becomes a wrathful dance, specially using Dual blades or Bushido bow
The things I like about Zinogre are his badass appearance, his cool moveset, and his abilities to use the thunderbugs around him to enhance his attack power and his agility.
I would be SO HAPPY if he made it into World. He's always a fun fight and has cool gear. Plus the way his thunder bug mechanic works could be an excellent fit with the endemic life systems.
Another thing I like about Zinogre is that it often will do its casual walk - almost a strut - in the middle of your battle with it, almost as if it doesn't really care about you...only to suddenly turn around and leap at you like the wolf it was modeled after. Or worse, it could do its acrobatic tail slam or even landing right on its back, probably to impale you with the spikes adorning it, which is often a 1HKO with rank-appropriate armor.

Zinogre is my favorite monster in the series and also my favorite theme of the entire series as well. I played Hunting horn just to use the guitar when I don't normally use the weapon at all.
