Actually, even though some ¨projects" seemed ridiculuous, but this GREAT show (together with MacGuiver and A-Team) inspired a lot of tinkering and curiosity among the youth (back in the day). The show wasnt about "hack the system" or "rob a bank" and then BUY stuff. But, it was - hell Yeah! Lets take something and BUILD STUFF! Great show!
There are three kinds of wheelie bars. 1. the ones that stick out the back about 3 or so feet. Like you see on pro drag cars to keep them from lifting off the ground. 2. a solid bar that goes the length of the bumper that sicks out about a foot. Allows for decent wheelieing but not too high. These have fallen out of favor given they were known to break off. 3. a solid bar or parts of bars that connect directly to the frame of the vehicle and is placed under the bumper. This allows for maximum height wheelies and protects the bumper from damage from scraping across the road. The one they used in this episode was #3.
