I feel that Monster high is starting to get better with its designs! Darker Makeup, More appealing designs and they are slowly ditching the short shorts and ombré shoes. I’m excited for what the future holds!

The gold line on Cleo’s lip isn’t a ring it’s inspired by makeup that Egyptian people actually wore. They would use either crushed Beatles and ants, or crush up jewels and gold to decorate their lips. I believe it showed their social status depending on the makeup. Cleopatra and her kingdom actually wore a lot of red ochre as a deep red lip. Which is probably why they give Cleo a darker lip color so much, since she’s heavily inspired by her.

I'm pleasantly surprised with these! If they have saran hair they'll be massive wins I think. The designs are SO strong. Laguna's hair and make up is insanely good. Dark purple on Clawdeen is chefs kiss.

Draculaura just never misses, they’re making her more Lolita goth which is all I want 😭

Lagoona does have a burger. It's probably a reference to the squid ink burger that's sold in Japan.

2024 is going to be a massive w for doll collectors cuz we'll have that GORGEOUS lagoona, g1 repros, and Bratz slumber party repros.

Draculaura has the same black shorts that a lot of ballet dancers wear to warm up the hip muscles faster during warmup. They're basically like plastic bags irl but here they seem to be more flattering for restyles. They're worn on top of the leotard and stockings.

The outfits for the Monster Fest are giving me 70s/80s vibes. Like- something you’d see at a Stevie Nicks or Queen concert, it’s really cool!

I have kept myself to "One doll, per character, per gen." and I have my G3 Clawdeen... but that Clawdeen is just such a step up I think I'm going to figure out how to get rid of my G3 Clawdeen for this monsterfest one

My thoughts in real time- I like Drac a lot, but I agree about the bangs. I’m super excited to see Abbey in this style, as a certified G3 Abbey stan. And I’m also glad to get actually quality ballerina dolls, since they’re usually a budget doll thing. Monster Fest Frankie. Omg omg omg. NEED them. Right now. They’ve definitely got the most consistently great dolls of the characters so far. Cleo is so cute! I haven’t really been a Cleo collector, but I am kind of tempted by this one. AAAAAAAAAA Lagoona is also so pretty I need her so badly G3 Lagoona is just getting prettier and prettier with each doll. Yeah I’m hype for Monster Fest. Not a single doll has been a flop for me so far.

Wait, do all of them with the exception of Clawden, have the same band poster? Clawden having Toralei's poster is cute because i ship them, cat dog , enemies to lovers kinda of thing.

It feels like monster high g3 is going backwards compared to rainbow high. In g3, the dolls started it out more colorful and kiddie, but are now transforming into more fashionable, Gothic dolls. Well rainbow high is regressing to slime and creepy pets

I wanted to say on your video of Cleo yesterday, that the gold on her lips is not a lip ring, it is a style of makeup that the Egyptian women used to do. You can see it on statues and figures in ancient Egyptian stuff. Fun fact they also painted the palms of their hands red for fashion. You were right that the jackal headed figure on her art work IS Anubis, the jackal headed god of the dead. Tut is a (blue?) Baby jackal pup. Also, I think Lagoona's burger bun is made with squid ink, which is a thing people like I guess...

I really like all of them but Lagonna is number 1, I'm not a doll collector but I am thinking of getting her. I had low hopes for the ballerina line but from what we see, my hopes went up.

I think one thing Monster High hasn’t done yet that almost EVERY doll line has already done is a winter ski line. Barbie did it, Bratz did it, Rainbow High did it, and I think a winter themed MH line would absolutely EAT. Also, skulltimate secrets don’t count. That line was BARELY winter themed.

With monster high finding its footing again and rainbow high dumbing down, it really seems like monster high might just exterminate rainbow high entirely. No hate just observation

I like all the monster fest dolls but why do they have to always overemphasize Frankie’s prosthetic leg… it’s shorts or high low boots now half pants half shorts?! Not every outfit has to emphasize that prosthetic so much. Like it’s cool to make it cute but how about some more normal styles… people that actually use prosthetics don’t always what it on full display all the time. That’s what iv seen from some of these people on RU-vid.

They can not give Frankie those short/ long pants please if there’s a God in heaven no! They look so wicked cool please dont ruin them with the uneven bottoms. Also Cleo has a weird tie thingy on her leg. I hate and have always hated the short long thing they have going with Frankie’s shoes. And their miss match shoes. Other than that Frankie is runner up for #1 behind Lagoona Also feel like Cleo needs just a pinch more black.

I all hate the shoes. Monster High has definately lost the shoe game with this generation.
