My biggest fear right now as a fan is that capcom might outta nowhere just mess things up for this franchise knowing Capcom has had its ups and downs in its history which means mh going through the dmc2, street fighter 5, dd2, tekken x sf, or mvci phase, which is inevitable, will hurt af. gotta accept that fate so it’ll hurt less when the time comes. No franchise is ever safe from that phase i guess. gotta brace ourselves now for this inevitable anguish. Anyone else having these woeful thoughts? Or are all mh fans just brimming with optimism all the effin time lol

First monster hunter game for me was Generations, and while frankly it was VERY confusing, it grew and grew on me and made me want to play more and more. I got 4U, 3U, GenU, World, and then Rise. All different games, yet all the same feeling: amazement. Thank you for not only crafting this game, but never giving up on the impact it would create with us, the fans. 20 years well spent, THANK YOU!!

It's insane how they decided to develop the Monster Hunter series, without knowing it would blow up and be one of the biggest franchises they would produce. Best decision they legit could have made. Love this series. I am a vet. player. Started with FU on the PSP, into 3U, then 4U, Generations. World is the best game so far (including Iceborne of course), got XX not that long ago. Rise (Sunbreak) is also fantastic.

It's really tough to capture Rajang for the Grand Tourney (PvP) in Dos, not only is he a 5% rate when you capture him on a quest and your quest host, but before you're even allowed the chance you need to have 50 Grand Tourney wins.

I remember when monster hunter first came out in 2004, I was hooked on the game but unfortunately I also remember that the first monster hunter game was criticized for not being a great game yet in Japan it was considered to be a great game. Since 2015 monster hunter gained huge praise as Capcom's great RPG game series here in the U.S. Plus we were closed to not getting anymore monster hunter games if monster hunter 4 ultimate didn't sell well in the U.S but I'm glad it did and the series continues as of today.

In my opinion games lose there fun when it's so easy that the challenge it non existent. I used to spend 2000+ hours in single monster hunter game (Hell 3100hr in mhfu) now I have a hard time even getting past 200 hours because it feels like I'm playing connect 4, after the excitement is gone the game loses its value, its a boss rush game that isnt challenging anymore. Like the content updates for rise I end up playing for 1 or 2 days then have no reason to farm because I can use any weapon or armor set and down a monster without any effort I don't even need any of rise's gimmicks to use a weapon effectively because the content has been so trivialized. Rant over I love monster hunter I have since 2004 and I always will but it's nice to vent every time I think of the old games that ment so much to me! MHWorld and Sunbreak have dumbed down their armor skills system because some minorities do not understand how armor skills work. Instead, Capcom has simply dumbed it down to the lowest common dominator, even though Japan fanbase never complain about armor skills being too hard nor complicated to understand what a fucking joke Capcom.. Where is the "hunt" in Rise? All you do is spawn and run straight to the monster already pinpointed on the minimap. This game should be called Monster "Battler", not "Hunter". I seriously do not understand the point of having the big maps if we know where the monsters are at all times, might as well just make smaller maps as arenas with differnt themes. Also, before you say that looking for the monster was dumb in previous titles, it is not as dumb as mindlessly running straight for the target through a boring obstacle course like in Rise. mentality like this is the reason the cause of bowgun were such a downgrade in Gen 5 and onward, HBG especially, shooting while moving around is rather stupid, it would be better if that was the case with LBG but HBG, a fucking heavy gun, where its excel in siege mode, turned into 3rd person shooter nonetheless because now there is no difference between the two. the fact that the only difference between LBG and HBG now is special ammo/silkbinds and walk speed only shows how little reason there is to need two different bowguns. now we get to Sunbreak and HBG has sidestep, becoming even more mobile, LBG has access to clusters again, and just the general feeling using both is the same, (same damage, new mechanics that are tied to the guns themselves instead of the class of gun) there really isn't a true difference anymore. (I even dare say Heavy Bowgun is "Heavy Light Bowgun" now) In recent entries, but especially in Rise, you don't really have to prepare for hunts. Everything is extremely simplified, and the game boils down to loading a map, zipping to the monster in 30 seconds due to the obscenely overpowered Wirebug mechanic, and killing it with obscenely powerful weapons and Wirebug moves. Although the newer games have open maps without load zones and that feels great, somehow the gameworld feels much smaller because you can zip around so extremely fast, and everything, every gather point is obvious and highlighted on your minimap. Gathering is instant. Tools don't break. You could say that all those aspects were simply annoyances and distractions from the act of killing the big monsters, but after getting some fresh perspective of all games in the past month I'd have to disagree - those very annoyances and limitations were part of the game's charm. I'm sure they can't simply revert back to that style, but I feel like they should at least attempt to bring some of the preparation aspects back and dial some of the numbers bloat What I'll really miss about underwater hunts is the concept of it. In MH3 and MH3U, we hunt monsters that soar in the skies, beasts that roam the earth, and leviathans that lurk in the watery deep. Without the latter, the world would seem incomplete For the exact same reason universal instant fall-animation-breaking dodges shouldn't be valid options. For the same reason all weapons shouldn't have Counters and/or i-frame moves. It turns the game from 8 to 80, completely changing the feel. Micro positioning barely matters anymore, you just insta parry the boss or i-frame his 100m wide AoE attacks (which exist in abundance precisely because players have counters/i-frames everywhere now), and healing's so fast and easy that bosses need to compensate with a lot more >50% HP attacks and instand KO's. It was pretty evident this began to happen in X, then more in World, and Rise peaked with this shit design. I want MH6 to grab World as a base (because let's admit the majority wouldn't want to go any further back in QoL stuff) and carefully pull back on certain player power level elements, instead of going even further with them like Rise did. I personally dislike damage numbers, mostly because it cemented the mindset of many new hunters to chase those damage numbers more then it promotes teamwork and positioning with the popularity of World. Many new hunters seem less prone to go after completely breaking a monster to ensure the chance for most materials, instead, killing it fast as possible. World itself promoted this a bit too with the way they made all materials attainable no matter what broke or didn't broke.
