My first and still favorite, swimming needs to come back, though I will admit it should be heavily revamped, but definitely worth a playthrough or a few

For me this was the best Monster Hunter ever released, playing it since 2013 and still playing it today I got like 476 hours on it 😅😁

MH3U was the first MH game i ever played and i had so much fun with it bc it wasn't like anything i ever played before, the combat, the monsters, everything felt perfect in that game! by far my favorite game i ever played on the 3DS. and i would be playing it currently buut i lost my 3DS and the games for it years ago :'( but im getting MHW soon so yayy i get to experience it again! overall good video it is worth sinking months of your life into. and thanks for the wave of nostalgia man :)

God, I love this game. Had over 10k hours before my Wii U broke. Now, I've fixed it and will definitely get back to it.

I'm working my way through it now and am almost to G rank. I'm surprised how much easier getting through the Hub quests solo are compared to GU. The only thing that kinda bugs me is that materials required for crafting seem to be quite excessive, necessitating more grinding than in Gen 5 games

Got this game on my 3ds after loving world. Ended up buying a Wii u just so I could play it on the big screen with a nicer controller. One of my all-time favorites.

I remember MH3U was my very first experience with MH. While I never owned the game due to not having the funds at the time, I found myself constantly playing the 3DS demo until my play limit ran out (I hated that demo play limit of the 3DS) & I had followed the series from that point since. I also ended up playing MH4U demo the same way I did MH3U. I didn't end up owning a MH game until MHW, & I also got MHS2 & MHR. Will say I still wish I owned those classic games before I hopped onto the newer games, but maybe I'll try to find the Wii U version of MH3U sometime if I can since I still have my Wii U. I've also been considering MHG.

Probably a very underrated opinion, but MH3U was my very first Monster Hunter game, and sticks as my favorite in the series to this day! MH is my favorite game series nowadays, and it's all thanks to this game I would play this game nonstop for weeks when I was younger, owning up to the 700+ hours I have in it (over many playthroughs). It just had a certain charm that I love Conquering a few GH quests early to challenge myself, killing Deviljho in 43 minutes before even knowing it was my first ever 6-star monster, killing Jhen Mohran with SIX. SECONDS. LEFT. Just a lot of amazing memories that will always stick with me As a hardcore MH3U stan, I appreciate seeing the game get some love, and I'm considering watching your let's play series of it, perhaps even alongside a new playthrough of my own Cheers, and happy hunting! :D 💛✨

I found my 3ds a few days ago and played monster hunter 3 ultimate again after probably 3 years

So I've had this downloaded on my 3ds forever and just never got around to actually playing it, but after seeing your video, I'm going for it. Might even look into the wii u version and later titles but I'm starting here. Thanks for this video, exactly the info I needed.

I finally managed MH3U to add this to my 3DS collection. I played it back in the Wii days and played the demo and had my ass handed to me. But playing it today I'm loving the heck out of it!!

First monster hunter I ever played and definitely love it. I didn’t get to into it past the Lagi fight and kind of fell out of it for a bit, but after world I was pulled right back in. Only problem is that my WiiU went down before I could finish it, now I’m just praying that Nintendo rereleases the older games on switch or just anything

now in 2023 Im awaiting my 3DS copy but I am dreading going in solo cause of G rank, and I know 3DS has no online.

If I think my times with Freedom Unite on my PSP (much more grind-y) and the latest I played MHGU on Switch (too easy to rank up) I strongly feel this is the most balanced, true to its root MH I've ever played. I just restarted it on my trusty 3DS.. still feels so good

I just found a physical copy of this game for $7 and couldnt help but pick it up. I started with rise, but playing backwards through this series has been incredible. Every time i play a previous entry, i feel like its incredibly dated.... for about an hour. Then the gameplay loop kicks in and im addicted all over again. Not sure how 3 is gonna go as i can only play charge blade/glaive/swaxe but hopefully swaxe holds up well enough to carry me through the game

Monster hunter try was one of the first games i ever played and ultimate is the g rank version so it will be nostalgic so yes give it a spin.

i wish monster hunter generations ultimate looked this good. it's on the switch so i don't understand why it just looks like a cleaner 3DS game instead of what we got with the wii u.

i would prefer swimming over the wire bug any day xD however, especially the wire bug would help with under water combat a lot, making you less helpless xD

Honestly though, the main issue of the best game of the franchise was Monster Variety, Leviathans and Brute Wyverns alone almost make up half of the game's monster roster. Especially underwater, the underwater monster roster can easly be summarized in Lagiacrus, Lagiacrus, Lagiacrus but different and Plesioth. That's why I think this game is perfect for a remake. Fix the balance issues (like how dual blades underwater are absolutely Horrendous), add a buch of more of more modern monster cathegory (like anphibians, Tetranadon would make an awesome underwater fight), remix the volcano theme for making it sound better (though this one is not really important) and BANG! Now the best monster hunter game has become the objectly superior monster hunter game. Also since fixing underwater combat is super easy, just make it faster, and by faster I mean litteraly faster, your actual swimming speed since the only REAL problem of under combat was that it feel like being submerged in jelly because of how slow it is (unless you sheat your weapon). All the other problems (depht perception and bad balancement) are caused by other things (the depht perception problem comes from bad map design SPECIFICALLY in the Deserted Island, where you're just submerged into a blue pool of no reference points, while in Flooded Forest or the arena you have references that help you understand your position), wich are relatively easy to fix. Or if you REALLY want to remake the controls make it like Xenoblade X's flight controls, they're litteraly perfect. Edit: also bonus points for having Plesioth as genuinely one of the best fights in the game... 3rd gen Plesioth really doesn't get enough love.

I recently bought a wii to relive some of the old games I used to love, while I never had MH3 I remember seeing it often back in the day and I grew somewhat nostalgic from reading over and over some monster encyclopaedia booklet type thing from tri. Figured now as an adult I could actually grab it and check it out, but wanted to see some reviews about if it was still worth it nowadays since the time investment on these games is huge, I was wondering if MH3 and MH3U are very different? would most of this video still apply to MH3? or should I not bother with grabbing it for the wii? I don't have the consoles for ultimate, but I suppose I could run it on pc if it's a much better version.

YES, IT'S SUPER WORTH IT as 3 Ultimate is my most favorite in the entire franchise & it's a lot of fun as my 600+ hours playtime is proof of that bruh!! ✌😁

I would recommend cemu over citra. Especially with an amd pc, citra does not have vulkan and cemu is just in a better place, and no annoying double screens. Also, I would rather use the Clutch Claw that do underwater combat. You can largely ignore the Clutch Claw but not underwater combat.

My most played monster hunter with a whopping 42,000 hours and my fav one! I use moga village music on both rise and world and I’ve only put about 500 hours in both of them there nothing better than 3 ultimate not when I had fun nonstop even after 42,000 hours my second most played is generation ultimate with 3,000 hours

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is much better. One of the best games in the entire series that help put Monster Hunter on the map. There's a reason why the game still get full online servers till this day.
