They both have a place in my heart, if i want to have a slow and methodical experience i will go with world and if i want a more fast pace difficult experience i will go with rise, they are both great games
Key factor missed, and I think it gets a tie as both games have really bad downsides: the lobbies/matchmaking. World has a way better lobby system, and being able to see what quests you can jump into is a massive QOL rise doesn't have, plus the sieges were lotta fun in world when you enjoy multiplayer, BUT the massive downside is you can't progress together with your friends because of cutscenes. Rise on the other hand lets you jump into any quest without the need to see a cutscene to enable multiplayer, but not being able to see what join requests you can jump into is just stupid and very impractical.
First monster hunter I ever played and definitely love it. I didn’t get to into it past the Lagi fight and kind of fell out of it for a bit, but after world I was pulled right back in. Only problem is that my WiiU went down before I could finish it, now I’m just praying that Nintendo rereleases the older games on switch or just anything
Thank you for the video, quite straightforward and fair comparisob *One of the most important to me factors that made me choose between the two * was *game size* as well. So gg.
Gave the Guardian set a try when I came back after launch. Holy shit it was fucking baby mode. Get that shit out of your inventory and fucking sell it. It’s a joke. Had a far more enjoyable time.
Guiding lands as Zorah's carcass is very interesting... The biomes are quite strange though like how did plants grow so quickly and how did the hinterlands get there. I guess its only possible in the New World
Bro RE4R is cooked , they stopped making updates when it got released for a year They also said about RE1 remake in 2025 (I have no idea what Chris looked like in the first game)
They ported EVERY RECENT "RESIDENT EVIL REMAKE" game on iOS....AND YET they made a stupid match 3 spin off...WTF???? MH now is not even a real MH game. that game is crap as well. I just hope Capcom wakes up and realize how there isn't a proper co-op game on mobile, I'd literally pay 40$ for it just to play anywhere I want
Just a hunch but I think seasons might have been a way tro get different biomes in the days where assets were more limited due to the whole game needing to be stored on a single disk/cartridge. Less entire new areas, more reused assets, less data. I think more overall areas of the map is better than biomes UNLESS you can change it on the fly. One of the worst gameplay mechanics imo is when you start grinding for one specific resource but you can't because it's a limited time resource. I didn't play the MH games that had it, but if you can switch it will, I think seasons would be a great way to effectively increase the size of the map with more biomes without making the map so large that you never really learn an area. I absolutely despise every time I have to go to the ancient forrest, it's such a messy map. I can't imagine having to learn 2 or 3 ancient forrests just because I want to slay an Anjanath and a Fjulgur Anjanath but there's no winter season so I have to go to a separate map (Hoarfrost reach isn't nearly as messy as AF though so it's not an issue in world)
Steam sale is on, Monster hunter world + Iceborn for 26$ should i grab it? would be my first Monster hunter game, is it easy to find people to play with?
World honestly has the best graphics from 2018 having similars to Elder Ring, Rise on the other hand seens horrible giving a pokemon vibe with a world that looks like it was made for xbox 360 with hyper detailed monsters
My first monster hunter game was rise on the Nintendo switch and it was one of only a handful of games I actually finished. I enjoyed a lot. I bought monster hunter world and been playing on my steam deck. I can already say just playing 8 hours that World is a much better game. I don’t know if it was the switch’s limitations but rise felt slow and clunky. It feels like rise is a water down monster hunter game.
Dude. I watched this whole video and at the end you don't just come out and say which game you enjoyed more to break the tie? Come on man. You have an opinion, I know it, and it comes from your gut, not some semi-arbitrary rating system you've thrown together. The tie was actually the perfect scenario to just say which you enjoy more lol I don't want to come off as purely critical though, It was a great video and gave in depth analysis. I just wish you would come out and break the tie at the end without analyzing it too hard
Mhw to me actually immerses you into being a proper gritty hunter hunting legendary monsters in these fantastically realistic biome, while rise is like I'm playing an anime, its just too unrealistic, the ridiculous fighting like being able to swhirl around a greatsword like its made of paper, and those wire bugs that grapple onto seemingly nothing, at least the clutch claw seems slightly more realistic actually gabbing onto the monster. And yes you're still able to throw around unrealistic weapons, but world at least makes an attempt to show them off as having actual weight and drawbacks from it like having to wait for the hammer after doing a big spin because your out of breathe and the momentum is too great
Monster Hunter World is a game about hunting monsters Monster Hunter Rise is a game about slaying monsters For me Monster Hunter World is a real Monster Hunter game, where you actually hunt the monster. In Monster Hunter Rise was simply a dissapointment, i wanted what MHW did but better instead i got a cut out version of MHW graphically and mechanically It's really a dick move for Capcom to string the hearts of westerners by creating an amazing Hunter game to later on reduce it to a Slayer
Really wish the game explicity told you that defender gear was pretty much baby mode, hell the game even RECOMMENDS you play with the defender gear. Completely ruins the early game experience imo, makes it way too easy
I prefer my World's Palico since the cat is special. You only have one of them. The Palico will befriend local cats and learn their methods of fighting just to help you. When in Rise, you can just switch out your default buddies whenever you can, just because they don't have specific skills that you need.
I'm a returning player who didn't get far in the game. Honestly the Defender armor for myself sounds exactly what I want. I do like the gameplay loop but there are times where the grind was real. Having a buffer where I have armor fully capable of taking out most of the main games content quickly while still grinding materials sounds perfectly fine for me.
I didn't know western audiences didn't like monsterhunter before. I grew up playing the first game for ps2, 2nd G, Freedom unite, tri, and nowadays world and rise. With my friend group back then i also played those a lot.
