I absolutely adore how you can hear a few notes of "Proof of a Hero" strung in the beginning before the hook of the MHS theme chimes in as if to say "Hey, veteran MH fans, we love you but if you keep an open mind, we've got something really special for you!" Also I'm happy the sequel is coming out soon!
Im happy you said this because it makes the 2nd game's main theme to feel like "Now that we're acquainted let's go all out!" being the pure stories leitmotif kicking it up to 11
I think it's the mid game of the Fifth Gen. It's not an RPG it's a Traditional MH with the "open world" maps with world. Looks like the slinger is there, and the vertically cranked to an 11.
@Thomas Wray I do hope they bring it to other consoles and PC tho. Stories 2 is fine being exclusive. But for a mainline to be the same.. It sucks. It's the same way I feel about World. I felt for the nintendo only fans who missed out.
@@MonMoon2 well rise has most likely been worked on right after they released gu, they got a headstart. Im sure the consoles and pc are getting another mh game by the team that made world, because rise is made by the portable team.
This may belong to an oddity in the Monster Hunter franchise, a franchise about hunting down monsters and killing them, but this game will always hold a special place in the hearts of those who play it. It deserves all the attention it can get. This is a true Monster Hunter game. Hunters and Monsters both reside in the world they exist in. This is proof that they can coexist.

I mean, maybe they co-exist but you're basically prematurely hatching them forcing them into an unnatural pygmy form, and the using them to kill their own kind. It's not really much better then what hunters do, if not worse.
@@elk3407 I take it as "fainted". Kill is such a strong term for non hunters. I live the life of both a Hunter and a Rider, I know how the cycle works. Us Hunters kill monsters to cull the numbers should they get out of hand, while us Riders care for the world, doing essentially the same thing, only we have monsters in our lives, our "monsties".

I never got into the mainline games so i was skeptical about this one so i downloaded the demo glad i did too cause i was immediately hooked so i got a used copy from gamestop and played it through all the way to completion its a great game
*THE NOSTALGIA!* My first Monster Hunter! To me, THIS was _Proof of a Hero_ back when I got the 3DS demo in 2018! Not to mention that the actual _Proof of a Hero_ was the first rendition I had ever heard. Fun fact: Versa Pietru/Malkili Pietru is the only Elder Dragon to actually terrify me. It was that final 1-hit-KO attack where he’d summon Blighted crystals to surround you, Navirou, and your monstie. Never have I seen a more terrified expression on a video game character as Malkili Pietru summons a dark energy comet (the best I can describe it) to disintegrate the three of you.
I'm late, but while this wasn't my first MH game it holds a special place with me. So happy there's a sequel, and I choked up with joy when it was announced. To live coexisting and thriving with monsters was a whole different perspective of the MH world, let alone befriending them. And never did I think I'd become emotionally attached to fictional animals in a video game... But it's kind of a reminder that the monsters we hunt in other games, they're actual animals with feelings, and while fictional that world couldn't survive without them. All living things do matter.
Makili Pietru's fight is pure terror IMO. I was lucky that at the time he was charging I already rode on ratha and finished him before he uses the one-shot Black Reprimand attack
Something I'm extremely excited to start uploading and i hope you all enjoy this. I love this game too much to gloss over, so I will be uploading (most of) the OST. I will start with the core battle themes, aka area themes. Then i'll move to Story stuff after. I hope you can be patient and can enjoy them while they come in time. I recently got around to beating stories and holy shit was this game beautiful. I fucking started crying, I never cry at the end of a monster hunter game but stories...mmm it hits different. Im SO fucking hyped for stories 2 now
I swear all the monster hunter games have some best opening cutscenes I’ve ever seen in video games. They give me chills every time. It was honestly a shame that world didn’t have one.
This game is so underrated. It's actually really impressive to have an actual huge open world game on the NINTENDO 3DS! Like the map from this game is actually enormous. I hope they port it to the Switch.
For some reason the humans in monster hunter be a very special , how a adult human can hunt a dah rhen moran with a sword ? No body know the reasom but you can v: , maybe a special mutations in the humans/wyverians
I mean, they probably didnt want to drop it. It simply just didnt sell well in Japan or here when it was released due to its marketing being so low. They tried to rerelease on Mobile which was a little better.. Thankfully we did get Nintendo to localize it for western audiences.

I'm honestly fairly indifferent to the Monster Hunter Stories soundtrack, but this theme immediately pops into my head the moment I think about the franchise.
I absolutely loved this game and still sometimes am playing it and doing the side quests because it's so much fun. I already pre-ordered the sequel and am really hyped for it, I'll be so happy when I can finally hold this game in my hands 👀
