im not making a sift box but im using the same 160QT box as you. i just needed some ideas on how to make a door without compromising the box. i got a XL thin wall cat door flap for an actual door but i had to remove the magnet and directional lock latches bc they put up way to much resistance when opening it. i think what i will do is drill the corner holes then use a ruler and score with a utility knife then heat the box with a hair dryer and finish with a hacksaw blade if its too stiff for the utility knife.
@@catsfluff1276 made some mistakes and hade some issues like needing to put super glue in some cracks and the lid being a helll of a lot more brittle then it feels. next time go for tiny holes. other then that they absolutely love it. i did need to stuff 1 of them in it every morning for 2 weeks but now she loves it too, all 3 go out of their way to use it now, well unless we are all hanging out in the family room together then they like to use those. we are gonna be doing a second one soon since it works so well.
I may do another video on the giant monster litter box. I'm quite behind on my social medias and videos. But to answer your question, I use my tilt and scoop method. I lift one side up to move all the litter to one side and scoop clumps and poop as they appear. Sometimes I'll lift the opposite side of the box and repeat. OR I'll use the hand shovel to pull the mountain of litter from one side of the box after tilting to the other revealing poop and clumps as the litter Cascades to down and is moved to the other side with the hand shovel.
