Honestly I’m very happy for this because I’ve been a bit lost on what to do with some of these mons like Ninki Nanka. Now you’ve given me some insight by showing the builds, thanks man!
I only just started playing this game and my team is only around level 18-20 right now, but I'm having a BLAST and that's partially because your vids on it have been so good & helpful. :D I just got ice blob and I'm loving him!
I was using catzerker for a while focusing on bleed and congeal with frosty and yowie, but then I scored am Akhlut egg from a lvl2 reward box and subbed him in with the ice spear volley. It's my favorite team now, with 5 stacks of frost easily achieved, plenty of buffs, heals and shields, and non stop crits with bleed stacks that last forever.
#1 Spinner #2 Sutsune #3 Ninki Nanka #4 Catzerker #5 Elderjel #6 Gryphonix #7 Aazerach #8 Thanatos #9 Asura #10 Toxiquees Honorable mentions: Grummy/ Skorch/ Caraglow/ Crackle Knight I mostly love the looks but i really enjoy Spinner giving him nice element coverage as well as Tether for both offense and defense personally.
I'm just about getting to the Underworld and I'm loving a monster I never really thought I'd like - Kongamato. Dark shifted, with a Moon Sword & Poisoned Dart and the rest on crits he becomes such a monster. Am also loving Dark Mad Eye, the attacking to build shield is such a great combo starter & I heard my little eye has an evolution, so I'm quite excited :D
It’s a year later, did you ever finish the game? What do you think on the ‘evolution’ as by chance I don’t want to spoil it, even if it’s a year later lol
@@komiismywaifu7616 Ahhh you mean Mad Eye's? Yeah - I wasn't a HUGE fan because Mad Eye fit my team comp better (Mad Eye itself was better at applying status, if I remember correctly). Although, it's evolution is COOL as shit lol
My top monster right now has to be Nautilid. Equip it with a medallion, use a buff, and nothing on your side is dying. It also will apply a lot of debuffs while supporting, especially if you dark shift it.
I have used blob, powie, +1 for the entire game. The heals, shields, and damage over time eventually kill anything I've faced. Even some teams several levels higher.
Love this list. Some of my favs, in no particular order: Imori (probably my favorite overall) Brutus (huge damage) Troll (chomp chomp) Caraglow (when not using, I miss her) Nightwing (love the bleed synergy) Targoat (my favorite shielder) Rainbow Blob (high magic damage) And G’rulu, Catzerker, and Manticorb for the exact reasons you mentioned. It’d be awesome if you could do some team comp analysis videos!
I'm having a fantastic start to 2021! Thanks for asking! For the Giant Seed you need to evolve Rocky, the best advice I can give is to just grind the Mega Rock battles in the Underworld. Mega Rock is definitely worth the effort!
Tanuki is my favorite so far and I'm sad to see it beginning to fall behind a bit (I'm mainly using for the crit chance increase on my monk.) Full offense 3 on my frosty gives glory so I doubt it'll find a niche spot on my team soon but who knows?
I have a team of only goblins that carried me through the whole game. It's just one warlock, an archer and a normal gob. Gob is the shielder, warlock heals and debuffs, and archer is the main dps.
My current team Is yowie , ninka nanka, and my lion. I stack regeb 3x along with 3x side kicks, and the healing from the first two just comes along passively, and they can stack up pretty decent combos, and my lion is a crit machine.
This gives me more insight on which monsters I can use. Currently using Frosty, Steam Golem, Specter and Glowdra. Looking into some physical attackers right now because I am not sure which ones to pick. XD
I noticed that your builds don't seem to have high defense at all. Do you mostly use damage accessaries? because if so then i need to change a lot of my items from balance to more dps. I still do great in fights but maybe i'm looking at it all wrong and need to go more damage with my team. Suggestions?
It may take a couple weeks, but I'm working on a video that highlights some of my thought processes when building and accessorizing teams in different stages of the game. To answer on defense: It definitely depends on the monster and the teammates you have with it. Monsters with shielding abilities or defense procs definitely benefit from high defenses. Many of my favorite monsters, though, have high attack power and some way to heal or shield themselves during an attack, or they are paired with teammates that do so. Some passive skills also reduce damage for certain monsters and/or teammates. On items, a splash of defense to increase damage reduction isn't a bad option, especially if you have an equipment item that increases defense alongside your focal stat. However, my take is that you reach a point of diminishing returns when adding a high defense to every monster. Hope this helps!
Ice blob paired with shockhopper to stack chill, apply shock/occasional poison, & remove debuffs was my go to combo for most of the game. With a king blob evolved from a regular blob filling the third slot as a healer, regen stacker, & random enemy debuffer
My hope is that PvP grows in participants as the game's community grows. I believe the developers may also be adjusting certain "overpowered" monsters in later updates.
try fungi with abyssal sword, thunder sphere, poisoned dart and thermal reactor….its pure madness, even hitting around 30-40 times and preparing for huge combo metres, where his best friend troll hits easily for 20k. this together with grulu is insane. one of my favorite teams to win fast fights. other than that i love thornfish, hes part of all my stall teams, protecting his teammates and stacking tons of bleed and poison stacks.
In my current save file of the game, my go to team has been two Light Shifted Targoats and the final spot can be almost anything. Dark Shift Prof-whatever that Frankenstien thing from the Underworld is for hitting all enemies or Dark Shifted Gryphonix for single target.
My first run I used Yowie, G'rulu and Ninka Nanka. I loveThe overheal on Yowie, and paired with the massive rejuvenation buffs from grulu and ninki nanka, it was easy to stay alive. Most damage came from debuffs. Now I'm running Yowie (grrrI just can't let go of this guy!!) Polterofen and Arachlich. Thir trio has amazing synergy with very high damage
A popular 6-star team is G'rulu, Fungi, and Troll. The proliferate stacks run the combo counter up for a massive bonus for the Troll's attack (usually Poison Eater). A similar team with a heavy hitting magical attacker going last can result in huge damage to the Spectre, though the original team mentioned above should work just fine.
Thank you so so much for this video :D I was so frustrated cause I just couldn't beat Julia in Horizon Beach and now with your help I finally managed to beat her :D
My absolute favorite has to be Plague Egg. I loved his design the moment I got him, and he's never left my team. I run him as a team healer/shielder, giving a ton of shields every time he heals the party. As well as his attack that removes buffs from enemies. And the random debuff he gives enemies every time he uses his heals is a nice little plus, too. His name? Obvious choice. Had to be SCP-049.
Currently at the end of the game about to face off against the final boss, I used a combo of arachnomancer, spinner and that Ice penguin monster whose name I am currently forgetting to basically cause infinite bleed damage as well as stacking chill effects to carry me through zosmos fight. Sorry if I got the names wrong XD.
The track at the 4:30 mark is "White Lie" from the album "White" in Harris Heller's StreamBeats collection (huge library of free music that's licensed for public use). Glad you enjoyed the video!
Love your vids man! I've found them super helpful as I've just started this amazing game! One note and I mean this out of respect is try to sound more lively in your videos and give some flare instead of the same monotone voice all the way through! Hope it helps but keep up the good work
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you're enjoying the content! I'll keep the monotone point in mind, especially as my understanding of microphones and filters grows. I've had many good voiceover clips ruined by popping sounds in the mic, so I try to avoid peaks in my voice right now. But, I'll see what I can do to spice up the next video a little more!
I have to give my favorite slots to the team I went through most of the second half of the game with: Dark Mad Eye, Dark Ice Blob, and Light Druid Oak. Mad Eye spread debuffs and pumped up the damage over time with Age counters, and removed buffs from enemies all while hitting super effective damage to the whole enemy team. Ice Blob shielded the team and applied stacks on stacks of Chill for Congeal damage and made sure Barrier was getting applied early. Druid Oak was able to apply 3 stacks of Regen and buff the entire party every turn while healing them, then taking pot shots with Age-boosted stats on safe turns. The team only got stronger every turn, so all I had to do was survive a few rounds and it was all over. Most fights ended with all opponents suffering from every debuff, my whole team having every buff, no casualties, and full health.
I haven't dabbled into pvp yet, but my gut tells me there is no way that ignoring the stat buffing nodes is the way to go. It doesn't make sense to make a jack of all trades monster, rather than one that focuses on strategy and synergy in the party with as many extra stat buffs nodes as possible.
