Two of our favotie off road go karts go head to head: the lifted monster truck go kart, and the Subaru Robin 9HP powered Yerf Dog! We do a series of challenges to see which off road go kart project is better at handling, speed, acceleration, crawlability, and more. We drag race the go karts, race around the CarsandCameras Grand Prix, do a hillclimb, and more. The results are surprising!

@@dc9808 that would also work. I just like that they create some pretty irregular karts. My idea was 6x6 and then maybe find a fiberglass tank body and actually have a airsoft gun in the turret or something along those lines.

they were getting pretty close to doing it with the amphibious boat thing, if they made a "chassis" from 1" ply, fiberglass cloth with epoxy resin and carbon powder mixed in (makes it really scuff proof!), it could BE like a "Banana Splits" amphibious 6 wheeler

Build an overland cart. Two seats, ultra reliable and “camping capability” hit some trails and film all the hilarity that ensues. Second build: A hybrid. Rwd Gas or diesel engine and one or two electric motors upfront that can be engaged or disengaged at any time for awd/ 4wd goodness. Could be for off-road or road going.

You have it geared so low you should just add a reverse gear box. Simple to do and would make the truck alot more effective!

@@a.j.sgarage9637 I've actually watched your cross cart build. I have a streched Honda odyssey frame that I'm going to be doing the same with just havent figured out how to build the cv axle system

Oh. Thanks. I dont have alot done yet really. Things have been hectic... But the making a cv axle setup is pretty simple. Chop up an atv axle so you have the carrier and the sprocket+brake rotor. Then weld up some splined couplers that match up to the axle you are using. Lots of retrofitting. But is a simple way for independent suspension.

Where's the wheelie contest? Or the 20 foot drag race? Or the tug-o-war? The Monster Truck would have won those! 😉 Throw some wheel spacers and wider tires on the front of the Monster Truck and it would help with the tippiness.

If you bubuild another lifted kart. Use the same jackshaft set up then split the swingarm into two and have independent rear suspension with one motor to power them. Also wider wheelbase

Now ya done it. You pretty much have to build a lifted tube frame offroad kart with big knobby mud tires. You should use like a 250cc 2-stroke from a dirt bike to power it too!

Yeah, I thought the truck would've done better in some spots. And the height of it, maybe if it had a wider stance it might've helped in a few spots. But either way looked like fun!

I really like how the subject material of this channel can't really be corrupted for profit. Sure they get some parts for free but they still are just ordinary parts that can work with an infinite amount of build ideas. I guess they could start throwing some random mobile game ads out there but I doubt they will. Hopefully not. I love their work so far.

I think it would be cool to make the yerf dog into a single seat, center steering, long arm full suspension sand rail. Use like a VW transaxle in the rear and fabricate a long arm kit for the front. Then give it some Hp. Thanks for the video guys.

The monster truck go kart needs a wider wheel base and more aggressive tires. Currently it just sits to high and it top heavy. A reverse gear box would be a really nice touch too.

Hey guys I was gonna let y’all know if you take a racing go kart chassis and take the seat and sheering shaft off and turn the chassis upside down you get a little more ground clearance lol just a weird idea I thought I’d throw out there. Love the videos guys!

You can add a half circle roll cage each side with an "X-brace" at the top wrapped in spongey foam. It'd be strong enough to save your spine and skull, and being a half circle, there'd be very little shock to you or the vehicle upon rolling it. Sooner or later, one of you is going to spill it seriously, so please do cage it. Thanks for the vid, it kicked ass!

Need to make the truck wider and re gear, even if u don’t use the full potential of the top speed that’s available, it would be able to go through stuff much better with wheel speed, I would agree there’s a fine line to loose torque but I feel like it way over geared, if it was 4wd I’m sure it would be fine but 2wd gotta have the wheel speed just my opinion

I think your next project on that line should be a cross Kart monster truck it needs a rollbar or rear hoop for safety bigger wider wheels for side to side stability. Lastly I noticed wheels don't line up with wheel wells so stretching wheel base out to fix biggest issue of stability also tubbing out fenders towards either end would give u a few more needed inchs of space to stretch it....also complete rebuild with 4 wheel drive with lockers and working suspension would be epic

Here's a project you could do with the Subaru... Build a range box, low and high to get some better low end torque for when you have to go uphill, but keep top end speed! 3:1 for low and 1:1 for high, maybe? Of course the final drive stays the same as you have it now. Maybe a speedometer with an odometer would be nice? That way we could see just how much it gets used.

Yeah, I know what you're saying by it being more "bling" but the clearance helps you from getting hung up. That low end torque is also super clutch on the hills and what-not. No way it's going to win in a race, though, haha. So expected results. I'm surprised the Yerf Dog did so damn well over that nasty stuff. That thing is a beast.

Love the videos. Please build an EXO cage for the mud truck. Watching the camera made me feel like I was in my old 1979 Chevy K-10 with 8" lift and 35" tsl super swamper Tippy old Pig.
