Take a ride onboard this monster V8 Holden Sports Sedan as it obliterates the field during a race at Sydney. Turn up the volume and enjoy the hard hitting V8 sounds! Support Grass Roots Motorsport with Blend Line TV.
At the time this VP Commodore bodied Space Frame Sports Sedan was running a 350 Chev V8, 18 degree, purpose made by Smith's Engine Research in Sydney. Producing 700hp. What a weapon.
@@BlendLineTV Not only that. But if you listen carefully, not once did he lose traction. Even on those off camber corners. Max power at all times. That was an extremely smooth run. Awesome!
@@Muzix2daEarz , do you really think V8 Supercars lose over 30% of of engine output through their drivetrain? I can guarantee that no team would last even 2 races in the season, if their engineers were so incompetent.
10 odd years ago we had a track day at Phillip Island and an ol fella whos name i never ever heard before came on track and DESTROYED everyone in an ol Mustang ,say hello to Rusty French
This track used to be known as 'Eastern Creek', clearly the car has a bigger engine than most of the others, an ex Castrol car and a Glenn Seton Falcon I seen.
I think it's supposed to be the 427 Manaro (7 litre) cheater car they built for racing but not homologated. The supercars are 5 litre if running what they come with.
DAAAMN!!! 😶 He hammer's down that loud pedal, like it's no tomorrow! 😆🤘 "I can formaly see,how the horns are growing out of he's helmet" 😈 🤘(He has great control on this wild Lion to) And what a awsome sounding V8!!! Love that induction sound when he ease's of the gas,and the revs goes down in to those thight turns, and as he com's out of the corners and hammer's that loud pedal back down in the floorpan!!! Hell Yeah!! I'm Digg'in it!!! ❤🔥🤘👍
Yup, on a fair few tracks around Australia these cars hold faster times than those of Supercars. Amazing pieces of machinery mostly built in home sheds!
It sounds like it has huge tourque figures so backing of the throttle is breaking so not much foot breaking is required! Always helps locking up breaks cause spins! He has advantage in the corners due to that I'd guess! Beast!!!
NO. A lot more than that and believe me the noise does relate to power. Some sports sedans are approaching 800 bhp these days. This might not be quite that but will be way over 600.
Yeah that's like me in Gran Turismo when I pick a car far more powerful than the AI drivers to guarantee a win 😂 Amazing machine but cant have built to the same regs as any of the other cars in that event.
It's built to the same rules as the Division 1 cars running in this race. The white Nissan and yellow Camaros are space frame V8 powered cars as well, while the Ex-Supercars in the race also fall within the same division.
@@BlendLineTV possibly the regs need looked at then as nothing built to the same regs should be THAT much faster than anything else on the track. Makes for an amazing show once then doesn't make for interesting racing going forward, just as people got bored with R500's winning all the time then R32's doing the same, classes need balance.
@@bunter6 Have a look at NSW Sports Sedans (heaps of videos on our channel) This car may be winning this round, but we can guarantee you the other cars built to the same regs also take victories and often there are a lot of great battles amongst them during races.
@@Danger_mouse Yeah, that noise was all the car itself. A fibreglass body with panels separating the engine from the cabin by mere mm of material. The way these things shake is insane.
Passing cars that _seem_ to be *entirely* different, doesn't feel like so much of an achievement. Are there 3 (more?) different classes in this race? Otherwise, it's the most incoherent formula ever devised.
