The common names for this plant are Monstera, Swiss Cheese Plant, Split Leaf Philodendron, Cut Leaf Philodendron & Mexican Breadfruit.
Hello flip flops, coconuts & fruity drinks with umbrellas! If you want your home to have a tropical feel then plan on picking up 1 of these plants. The leaves are big & it spreads as it grows. This is all about Monstera deliciosa care including tips & things good to know so you can keep your leafy beauty thriving & looking good.
These plants were popular years ago but fell out of the limelight. Now they’ve come back with a vengeance & rightfully so. There are many species & varieties of Monsteras on the market. You basically care for them all the same except for the variegated ones which need a bit more light to keep their beautiful markings.

I used to have a monstera plant when I lived at my other apartment. It grew to 5 feet, but I left the plant when I moved downtown. I regret it now. Good video about monstera plants.

Thank you for your video. I bought one through Amazon and it has grown quite a bit but when I got it, it didn't have any split leaves on it. Now it has only one split leaf but a new leaf is coming up. So hopefully it will get more of them.

Try giving it more light. I get bigger leaves and more split leaves when it has plenty of bright indirect light.

Hello. My outdoor split leaf P. Selloum has a 10ft stem (trunk?) with leaves and air roots produced near the base and at the end. Does taking cuttings for propagation mean cutting off the entire head where the air roots are? Or air layering the stem? If I simply cut the 10ft stem in half, will new leaves grow from the end? Thanks in advance...
