As a monk main it made me very happy to hear the design choices here :) also spellblade sounds really fun as well, kind of reminds me of blue mages from FFXI, they did that archetype so much justice imo

Can't wait to get more info on the Beastmaster. Reminds me of the Beastmaster from FFXI. Highly underrated class concept in my opinion. Watched the VoD on the twitch but came here to give this video a thumbs up as well.

Bard concept: The armor type you wear dictates what your songs are boosting. Wearing plate…melee songs are strong. Cloth…mana regen and spell casting. Leather maybe heals and speed.

That necro concept is giving me some Age of Conan necromancer (tier 1-3 armor sets) vibes. Everything is looking great, but my favorites are probably Necromancer, ShadowKnight, and Inquisitor. Liking the direction this project is headed!

Yo nice! Age of Conan is my favorite mmo sadly I haven't played in a couple of years as the game has like 100 players or something :(, but I did play around 2014-2018 and did all content in the game T1-6 the raids HM dungeons and the AA system are amazing imo. And I did main a Nero for a while and got him some T4 gear but changed to Assassin after a break and got him to T6 gear but not full because I was unlucky xD friend of mine played barb and manage to get full T6, bis weps, rings + neck :S

@@Slow9402 I mained a necro from beta (2007/2008ish I think) through 2012 when my guild stopped raiding. Had full t1-t3 and whichever set from Khitai rep/dungeon, but didn't really get a chance to get into the later content. Wish that game would have gotten more support.

@@Terrorskull yea, it really sucks how aoc ended up dying completely and the first tiers of raiding were also amazing, but after rise of the god slayer expansion came out you just did 6 man HM's and farmed factions and bought really good epic gear and then jumped straight to T4 and all the looks of every set for every class looked amazing the only sets that was kinda lame was T6 even T5 was a revamped and cooler looking T3 set but then with T6 it was just yikes

Awesome about wizard! As a Wizard main on EQ and mage main on wow, I've been addressing this a bit on both discord, the survey and in Nick's stream about wizards has to be more group wanted compared to EQ and that their mana issue has to be fixed somehow, so there won't be a lot of afking or chasing mana reg buffs like a mad man. Some ideas I've read on the EQ forums were to give Wizards the clarity buff instead of having it on Enchanters, and that would also make them super wanted in groups. But you could also just give them lower cd on harvest, more mana from harvest and or more dpm or a better mana per dmg ratio for them to be more viable and give them a better sustained dps. However, giving them a more sustain dps might mean they can't nuke as hard but instead have to spam their spells and become more of a wow mage, which imo would be kinda lame for this type of game. Something that really makes me love Wizards in EQ is the real sense of NUKE! Where you see the mobs % go down slowly and steady, and then you channel your 6+ sec spell, and you see a good 20-25% of the hp go down. But the solutions that Nick talked about sounds great, just question is how it will play out while actually playing. Also, the whole melee aspect seems kinda cool, even tho I might not be a big fan of going melee while playing a caster. :P Cheers!

i think a much simpler solution is to just give them a line of nukes that dont require mana, make them mediocre in damage, but at least the wizard will always have "something" to contribute

@@tormmac eh lame and cheap solution. Tbh the whole point of being a wizard is to nuke mobs and really see an impact on the mobs hp bar. As I said in my post over a year ago xD if you give wizard these types of spells you will become more of a wow mage just spamming the same spell over and over just to have decent dps and as a wizard in these EQ style game I would rather have huge nukes with high cast times and SOME downtime not 15 min as in EQ. So that's why the suggestions of giving wizard the mana regen buff and other stuff to welcome wizards in to groups and also being up to par with dps in a different way. So lets say like instead of spamming a spell with 2 sec cast doing like 200-300 dmg per cast and has a X amount of mana cost you instead make the wizard play around having a 6 maybe 8 sec cast gigga nuke with like 900-1000 dmg or even more depending on gear and stuff instead and make sure it's a good damage per mana ratio to make it a good dps spell (just making up random numbers for an example don't do any math with them). Well this was a bad way for me to explain this, but my point is I don't want to see the wizard become a wow mage spamming low dmg spells as their rotation and rather have gigga nukes with a good mana per dmg ration and high cast times while still beeing on par as a top dps WHILE ALSO bringing good stuff to a group.

I had a thought about class role and identity that I wanted to share: In EQ1, wizards could pump DD and help burn down targets quickly in emergencies - but at the cost of being out of commission for a bit So I realized that most MMOs have never really made a role out of this - why not have some higher threat mobs that some classes can burst down more quickly than other sustained classes, and letting that be a benefit that some quick burn classes can provide to a group Not sure if that makes sense

i agree with the sentiment that gearing your fantasy is a end game and important milestone, in ff11 all the class fantasy relic armor required long quests and were near max level

Again , late to the party here. Those look like a crazy fun set of classes, and will definitely require alts. Hopefully with race related starting zones, to make re-playability less drudgy in the earlier levels. I mentioned the Dirge class from EQ2 on stream, and was asked to discuss in Discord, but for some stupid reason, although I have a discord account, it wont let me post in your discord without 'claiming' my account, then refuses as I am already registered. Soooo. What I loved about the dirge. 1. Depressing mobs is just genius, spreading gloom and sorrow rather than being one of those cheery horrible bards. 2. Having several insanely good buffs for main tank holding aggro. 3. Even a not very good dirge was always a must have in a raid group. It's just such a different playstyle to all the usual shiny buffers and debuffers. Cannot wait to lose track of time in M & M , no rush for launch. The streams come across as showing that there is genuine passion, thought and insight going into this one. Let me make mobs weep and wail ;)

The way we are building the characters, textures can work across all the races. So a chain shirt can look the same no matter what race wears it. But if we wanted certain looks to only appear on specific race/class combos we would simply set a race or class requirement for the item, and then you'd only ever see that look a specific way. -zuk

You mentioned that Paladins could be Anti-Paladin. As an old school SK player this interests me, as your SK seems to be moving away from the Evil Knight meme (which I love). Will this be about deity choice primarily? If you choose an evil god, will you get to be KOS in most areas. I actually thrive on being hated in most places, and figuring out how to deal with that. Will there be differences is skill sets? Spells?

I believe this is all pre-alpha stuff. They are building this game from scratch basically on stream. Twitch channel has even more.

I realize that the class dev was joking about the OP aspect of Rogues, but I don't see them as not OP at all. The top dps also has slows? How is that not going to be the #1 pick when available (for dps)? I don't see why I would not choose them first based on this stream. I wonder why all class devs seem to have such a huge bias towards Rogues? In Pantheon, their Rogue has hig dps, stealth, mez, detect and disarm traps, lower aggro range, tools to distract enemies, rope, aggro drop and probably more I am forgetting. Anyways, I hope things change before release, and hopefully the other claases are not just numbers to the class pool.
