Fast forward twenty years... In a darkened room sits an ageing petrolhead, his electric SUV sucking volts in its garage. He is glued to videos like this one, probably illegal, tears trickling down his cheeks, longing to be back in the days when "Men were men, and women loved it". Those were times when a good cologne smelled like 98 octane fumes, and you could tell who had just had a good run over a mountain pass by the smile that reached from ear to ear! Ohhh Dear, where are we going! 🥴
Excellent upload ! May I know where exactly this roadcourse is ? I was familiar with the French Riviera from Menton to Nice and with the arrière pays as well. Gorbio, St.Agnes,Castellar, really lovely peaceful villages. Thanks for sharing 🙏
@@Totsprod Everything! One sounded like turbo and the other one NA? What engines and drivetrains do they use? What modifications to suspensions and brakes? Where can the wide arches be found?
@@bingoberra18 Oh... so the golden one is a classic Dauphine proto, I think it's drivetrain & motor from Renault 5 Alpine & arm/wishbone should be from renault 8, for the suspension and brake i don't know sorry, the wides arches are in plastic & are called "Quéron" style since it's copied from Mr. Quéron's Dauphines prototypes from the 60s-70s. I think you should be able to find some garages that makes it if you search for "quéron kit". For the Blue one you are right it's a turbo engine, this one is very particular because the motor is a Renault 18 turbo injection with a low engine of Carcreff motor ( if i remember correctly, it's something like 1500cc - 200hp ), drivetrain i don't know but the arm/ wishbone is from the "Jidé" that are taken from the renault 12 and inversed. Edit : Oh yeah and it's a central engine That's all I can say to you
If you mean the R8 at 5:28, it was the last turn before the chequered flag. Plus, in historic racing everyone enjoys their classic car to the best of their abilities, not everyone contends for the win.
Like I said it’s not a race, most of the cars are serial cars, so helmet is mandatory, extinguisher as well and the technical control too. This is for « serial » car, for the race cars that wants to participate they need to have Everything like in rally. You know the ambiance is not the same since there is no chrono, everyone is here for the fun and not because they want to be the best so they don’t push their limit, the main idea here is : « I want to drive on a secured road with my old car at my rythm, take pleasure and bring back the car home without any issue » Moreover the organisation is free to kick out anyone they consider as dangerous in the car.
