Fun Fact: If you take Exit 0 on the I-90 before Thompson Falls there's a hidden dirt road you can take that goes into Thompson Falls. The route will show up on your map when you drive onto it

I'm a local driver now but when I did otr ND to WA were my stomping grounds and the Montana map is such a nostalgic treat, did many 34s just west of Missoula. I Can't wait for them to throw in the rest of the northern midwest.

Use to visit Helen’s Montana all the time because my moms boyfriends family was all from there and we went to the well every day and threw our trash in a well. We stayed in a cabin about 35-40 miles from the airport in a the mountains. Always was fun visiting up there

The Western Star 57X is a very beautiful truck. I had a guy in the Distribution Center I work at come in with 1 the other day and I got to see it.

They finally did montana justice, I’m a Billings native and i can’t believe they got the skate park, the mural under the bridge which was just painted last year, the fairgrounds with the carnival which is actually currently happening as I’m typing this. They did a great job I even recognize the car lots that are around. I might have to see if I could find my house!

It must be so cool for SCS to make a DLC of the state/place you're from. I always compare some intersections to real life ones and a lot of roads and corners on montana DLC look exactly like real life. I can't even imagine SCS making an Ontario DLC for where i'm from lol. Maybe in 3 years?

Hey Jeff, Montana native here. I’m blown away by the detail SCS put into this DLC. Billings, Roundup, Lewistown, and Great Falls were all pretty accurate! I’m especially impressed with the detail on the Billings police cars and the Highway Patrol cars!

I could almost instantly tell what part of Billings he was in! The elevation needs a bit of work, but it’s pretty good!

Man, my parents had a conversion van that we used to take family road trips in. It had the built-in headphones that broadcasted high frequency rpm's directly into our ears. Torture lol.

I am loving Montana so far as well! It takes me back many years when I was moving to Wisconsin from Oregon with a packed 1980's Toyota Tercel and a pregnant wife. ATS is definitely much more enjoyable! Thanks for the video, Jeff! Outstanding work as always.

As a Montana native they did a really good job on the state especially Billings considering they are limited on map space but I really wish they did a better job with Great Falls I'm from a town an hour north of their and have been their more times to count and while it is reminiscent of Great Falls it just seems a little to inaccurate to me especially after seeing how good they did with Billings.

What's goin on Jeff? Hope all is well with you and hope you're enjoying your new home and hope your new setup isn't giving you too much trouble.. I been waiting for a *ATS* video.. my depression has been really really really bad and the dark thoughts are back in full force and that's all I been thinking of doing, usually the drives with you in *ATS* calm me down when I'm feeling like this and looking at the scenery and hearing what you have to say takes my mind off of what's goin on with it so I'm hoping this video does what it usually does for me when I'm feeling like this

I absolutely love ATS. A couple days ago, I went on a buying spree and bought every map extension that was available on Steam (including Montana) lol. I also have all cargo pack jobs. I am working on getting all the pain jobs. I cannot wait until the Texas map comes out. So far, the game has been amazing. The graphics are amazing. But I wish we could walk in the game. I believe the developers are currently working on that, Not sure though.

I used to build Western Stars. They are some of the most serious mofos I've ever seen. The freightliners had aluminum frames that one big dude could life if need be, the stars were steel frame rails that were heavy af. While freightliners normally used a handful of hucks to attach the suspension hangers, the stars often had heavy steel hangers attached with what felt like 60 bolts (was probably closer to 20-30, but feels like a lot more when you're trying to get em all in there on an assembly line)

I got the Montana DLC, Since it's my beloved home state. Unfortunately it's been lagging alot on my laptop, maybe after an update or 2 it'll get fixed, but in other words I love it.

LOL that noise you are talking about, ground loop interference, I have had it on several old cars, poor factory wiring and poor grounds. Usually just doing a custom ground loop wiring fixes it, but yea totally brings back memories to driving older cars...

its pretty accurate! I'm right outside Lewistown, and the buildings are pretty close. names are changed, but pretty geographically correct and shaped right

I liked this video because it was longer. If it is up to one hour I think it is ok. Not too short, not too long. I am very impressed how much new things they added. This DLC sets a new standard and I am excited which new DLC will be announced parallel to Texas.

The Western Star 57xx has a dead zone light in the cab, it’s between the right door and the front mirror. When there is a vehicle driving next to you on the ride side, the light will turn on. At weight stations you see now a traffic light at the end. For its now, but I’m think that it will be activated in the future. As last I saw new asset (small security camera with a solar panel). With 1.45 there are a few trailers added and a new ai vehicle.

enjoy great falls i lived there for 2 years i just moved to shelby MT a month ago and no you dont get an arrow on left turns in mt in pretty much go when its clear and green

One thing the didn’t get right was on the way toward round up before you hit Harlowtown on your way out of Billings is our dirt oval race track BigSky Speedway that’s been there forever and you can’t miss it as it has nothing surrounding it

Always a great drive with my favorite colleague virtual trucker. Glad to hear that the whole moving thing is over. Stressful stuff. Especially when theirs a 1000 miles involved. Holy moly. I will also look into JBX Graphics mod. I have an RTX 3080. But i also have lag. I love how the game looks in 3840x2160. So bright and crisp. I miss that in vanilla 1440p. Hopefully JBX can fix that. Your game looks just as bright and crisp. It's all about balancing and trying something new.

I seen a guy with a 3 screen setup for ATS.. he had a big monitor for the main windshield and he has 2 monitors on each side for the driver/passenger windows & mirrors and he had a setup that looked like a truck dashboard and he has 2 big seats 1 on the driver side and another one on the other side just Incase he had a "passenger" lol.. and he also had a big shifter.. it looked amazing and it actually looked like the inside of a truck.. it was very impressive

Loved the video! It was these kind of ATS videos that brought me to your channel in first place, so they really are my favourite kind of content! I can also relate to the excitement of exploring a new state in ATS and Montana is just amazing! As always SCS manages to capture the feeling of a place so well, with their attention to details. Montana got some of the best routes in ATS and so much to explore, only downside is that I tend to drive off the road when starting to look at it all :D Also good to hear about the move and the new setup, it sounds great and well-earned! Definitely looking forward to all ATS and MSFS content coming down the line, keep up the good work!

Welcome back. I’m enjoying the western star 57x. I have it on 13 speed manual (yeah I know it’s a 12 speed). Also I have a steam mod that shows the cruise control as well as hours/mins to go to sleep and delivery.

I live in Billings, and I have my whole life, and I think this DLC is awesome, but the buildings are very off, Lewistown does not have a building that tall (where you entered to the left), and Billings does have two very tall buildings, First Interstate Bank Tower, and the Double tree. It is very disappointing that they do not have MT-3, it connects Billings to Lavina, then you can go to Harlowton, and up to Eddie's Corner that way, and that would be the fastest way to get to Great falls from Billings, and I have driven on that road SOOO many times. Lewistown is Lewis-TOWN, because Lewis-TON is in Idaho, so it is important to not mix them up. I would recommend from Great falls head north-west up to Kalispell, then Kalispell to Missoula, then down to butte, and Bozeman.

Take I-90 West US 93 North. You’ll go around the Flathead Lake. Gorgeous scenery. Alternatively, since you’re in Great Falls at the end of the video, you could get on US 2 West and you’ll go around the south end of Glacier Park.

And I been you watching you for years I don't remember when I first started watching ya I've been with ya a very long time and knowing that your going to have your dream set up is so freaking awesome and I'm happy for ya and excited and you definitely deserve it brother. In Casper, Wyoming you can see our blue suv cop cars and our Wyoming wildlife ambulances. They are unique in the World and ATS actually captured them.

Not sure if they modeled this, but Roundup MT my aunt, uncle and my cousins lived in the basement of the church there (he was the pastor). I've forgotten the main road it paralleled, but I do remember my cousin saying that every weekend the kids would drive up and down the road kinda like they would have in the 50s.

so I had to laugh at the large number of cops in this Montana map. Just you stuck at that light making a left turn I counted 5 or 6.. Most I have seen on any map in such a short amount of time. Graphics are top notch, this just seems to be the best one yet. I can't wait to see what happens by the time they make it to the Northeastern part of the Country. The western star truck was nice as well

Down here in Arizona, we also have cell towers that are trying to be disguised, but we use saguaro cactuses lmfao 😂
