Try Waterfront brand umbrellas. They have UV blocking too, super light and one has lasted me for years (7 years going on now). There are nicer prints too! About $16usd. Buying folding umbrella from Asia have better quality due to how useful and common it is there. You won't see umbrellas used for light showers/ shade from sunlight in europe/ America
Great review. If you are looking to review other umbrellas for travel I use the Davek Mini and the Davek Commuter. Both are SOLID umbrellas and the mini is super small. They are very sturdy and have some great quality construction. They are pretty pricy though but worth a look imo. Also the warranty is second to none.
Have you tried the montbell umbrella? Trying to decide between this and the davek mini. I want something compact and light just to toss in a bag while onebag traveling but i also dont want to worry about it breaking from a strong gust of wind.
@@JustFluxz I have not, just the Davek. That being said if you’re a one bag traveler you’re a quality over quantity person and you need dependable gear. Splurge on the Davek. Life time warranty and if you happen to loose it it comes with a 50% coupon to buy another. Highly recommend.
For someone who mostly road trips but likes to minimize everything to one backpack, would you recommend the montbell or the davek mini? I usually have the weight near the top of my priorities but i want it to be extremely packable while being very durable. I dont want to worry about a strong wind break it or how it would hand if i dropped it. The montbell seems like it would be a good fit but i worry about the durability and comfort in use due to how slim and light it is.
There is still an opportunity for someone to make a no-expevse-spared lightweight umbrella that is actually tough and reasonably light, using titanium etc. Yes it might cost hundreds but there would be a market.
